OSU is an unknown, they've got new people all over the field. A ton of talent everywhere, their character will be Urban Meyer.
Sparty has what looks to be a great RB, a so-so offensive line, a very good TE, no proven WRs, and no proven QB. Their D has talent but inconsistency at safety, so-so to bad CBs, two very good LBs, an all-world NT and okayness everywhere else on the line. Depth is a real concern on the DL. Great scheme on both sides of the ball. They'll be led by their defense, they'll be tough.
Michigan has a lot at RB, great TEs, great WRs, an okay OL, and no proven QB. OL depth a real concern. Defense has okay safeties with talent and upside, great corners, a great SAM LB coupled with okayness, and a ruthless DL with great depth. LB depth a concern. Great scheme on both sides of the ball. Senior and upper class leaders are their best players. They'll be Harbaugh team, but also a Butt, Darboh, Chesson, Cole, Lewis, Peppers team.
I think Connelly has it right on.

Why? The Florida offense is terrible. It was known even in this game that Treon Harris likely wouldn't be back. They shouldn't have allowed even the first couple of drives, which would have yielded a FG if not for the fake.
Beating up this very good defense is something to celebrate, even with motivation caveats. Beating up that offense is nothing of note.

A scoop block isn't on scheme or system, it's a basic play learned in high school. Two blockers responsible for two defenders. If the DT slants toward the guard then he needs to keep a shoulder on him until the center can pick him up (or take him completely depending on how hard he slants), then move to the LB. Or, like on the play where the LB is completely unblocked, it's obvious right away that the center has the DT handled (even before that recognition, the DT isn't slanting at Kakis, move on!), move right on to the LB. It's an easy play for the guard. That's Smith running with a full head of steam into the second level, exactly what you want to demoralize a defense. It's a bit infuriating that Kalis can't make that play in any system.

The use of the word attrition is confusing me - you meant injury, correct? Not trying to be picky, but want to understand if you're talking about this year or last. Attrition would indicate losses for this year, while injury would mean you were talking about last.
M lost Mone, Ojemudia, and Glasgow last year. Is the fourth Godin? I hope it is, because it would mean you have not forgotten about Godin. And everybody forgets about Godin.
Versus second half of last season (which is rightly pointed out as a concern in the article): Glasgow back, Mone back, Charlton over to WDE, Godin back, and add Rashan Gary. Lose Willie Henry. If Marshall or someone else emerges to keep snaps off the starters, depth isn't an issue in any way this year.

Seems an unecessary shot at Morris, who looks like a great locker room guy for his teammates and is committed to Michigan. What's the over/under on any 3rd string QB? Right. So what's the point of the question, other than everyone in this thread assert how much he'll never err'r start at Michigan

Mad Dog and Glory. David Caruso's character fights a thug on Deniro's behalf, very realistic knuckle busting. In the middle of it, the thug picks him up and moves toward a window. Caruso says something along the lines of whoah whoa whoa, fuckin window. Thug acknowledges this isn't that kind of fight and throws him against the wall. Great little movie.

Re. PSD's, you have to consider how much of a draw ND is to those payers. Are you swapping Arkansas and Miami of Ohio at home for ND? In terms of stubhub/street cost, I'm betting ND comes well ahead. Miami of Ohio tickets can be bought for $10 from a yeah-too-drunk-to-go-now student, and Arkansas is a good draw, but I doubt they would get much of a premium over face. I'd bet they'd be Nebraska/Iowa level (back when we played the latter), which would be face or a little above.
ND is like OSU, always at a premium unless you're in the 3rd/4th year of a coaching failure. Good seat for ND preseason with an optimistic fan base is $350, very much doubt you'd get half that for both Arkansas and Miami of Ohio. Maybe a lot of Arkansas fans do want to travel to AA, driving up the value? Hard to discern, but still betting ND is the much better money deal.

Didn't he play quite a bit last year? I watched the Sparty/Nebraska game last night and he seemed to be the starter. Maybe another guy was hurt, I know they had some injuries last season. This can't be great if only for depth purposes.
I guess Draymon won that one.

Lots of down blocking in that film. I don't know if I see a natural bender, and he does seem like he needs to build some strength. But he's agile and athletic, and he does have good feet and great size. See a lot of want-to in that film, so that it seems even more surprising that he's not blowing people up more. Lots of blowing up of the people, but you'd expect a little more. Of course FLA competition could have something to do with that. Great pick-up!

|3 weeks 3 days ago||This guy's done some||
This guy's done some interesting articles on 247 recently, though I'd like to see more explanation of the model he's using. Anything analytics based, assuming it's a sound model, is just going to tell you what past mass data tells you about the future. From what I can tell in this brief article, loss of lead tacklers, loss of QB, and getting crushed by OSU last year are the reasons for being down on Michigan. I don't know how all of his factors interplay though.
It's a good check on some of the runaway optimism on this team. I think Michigan will be very good, but new QB, new LBs (yes Peppers), and a weak running game / thin OL could limit their B1G chances. Yes a lot could go right as well
