I like your thinking.. But it's just a bit optimistic regarding our new players, even with the quotations highlighting how "big"-like they are.
Doyle and Bielfeldt will definitely be getting playing time at the 5. Physical bodies are necessary - thus getting Teske a scholarship may be the most important thing of the next couple years. Beilein has no one to replace Morgan's D so we're kind of looking everywhere for solutions now.
We will be lucky if Wilson or Chatman can play the 4 on the defensive end (thus the need for both Doyle and Bielfeldt). Don't count on it. Irvin (not Irving) is so far from being a 4 defensively we'd be worse off than last year on D (and the offense can't get much better) if he was ticketed for that spot, so not a good outlook there. Donnal is our only hope..
Hopefully our backcourt can carry the front court until next year when we have some depth - the lineup until then though is:
With Walton and Caris averaging 35 a game at a minimum

Did a lot have to go right for Portugal after? Yes. Their passing was on point. But that's the same thing as American football. Good teams are opportunistic.
|30 weeks 5 days ago||That screenshot was well||
That screenshot was well after the turnover obviously - based off where the turnover occurred, enough time for the ball to travel about 45 yards.
Brian even mentioned how out of place a certain member of our defense was, " When Bradley loses the ball he is literally at the halfway stripe!" So his defenders weren't in the right spot and they shoulder some blame. Poor awareness on everyone's part.
|30 weeks 5 days ago||I understand there are hundreds.||
But how many of those occur with your team compressed up the field and result in a huge run where a guy goes ten strides without coming close to a defender? That is rare.
We were so far upfield I made an audible oh noes at the bar where we were watching. This was not a typical turnover like you are implying
|30 weeks 5 days ago||Hate to disagree regarding Bradley but||
We absolutely track points off turnovers in American football. No matter the number of plays that had to go poorly on defense after - it is still a stat every announcer and analyst touts as important.
So yes. Bradley messed up. And the ensuing result was a point off the turnover.

Now if only our defense could keep us in the game while the offense sputters, I'd be really really happy.

We will know things are going our way!
Michigan can pull it off if this is Glenn Robinson's day against a weak interior d and we minimize the damagez on our defensive glass.

A quarter of the way through the Big Ten season and I'm 23/27 on my predictions! Michigan winning @ Minnesota, Minnesota winning @ Penn State, Iowa winning @ OSU, and Purdue winning @ Illinois are the only incorrect guesses I made so far.
My predicted final standings can be found here:

Honestly, I was optimistic. In reality, I suppose I have UM on a similar plane as Iowa - just an imaginary half-tier below MSU/OSU/Wisconsin. But chaos happens in a deep conference. My first go through the schedule I had MSU and OSU with 17 and 16 wins...then I adjusted for entropy in a way I rationalized.
I used the same idea as Kilgore here (love the Kurt Vonnegut reference, by the way) in my article - talking about the importance of holding home-court in conference play: http://annarborsports.wordpress.com/2014/01/02/michigan-mens-basketball-...
As you can see I adjusted Michigan's best-case scenario up from the initial expectation and predicted they would hit that expectation after they beat Minnesota on the road(just because it worked for me last year? haha crossing my fingers).
I also wrote about the McGary loss earlier if you do some poking around on the site.

That's what I was thinking... John Beilein will pave the way somehow. Hopefully just like how Bo Ryan's teams always finish top 4.
|1 year 1 week ago||You're right, I was very pessimistic about this Wisconsin team||
Maybe unjustifiably, because I felt I needed to give Michigan and Indiana a few more wins.. Wisconsin has been able to get out and beat teams with high scores this year while still being able to go back to "old-school Wisconsin-ing" successfully against good teams like Virginia and Florida.
My first glance over the schedule I had a huge divide between the teams at the top and the teams at the bottom, but as past Big Ten standings verify, chaos always happens - and I pegged Wisconsin as the victim of it this year, to provide extra wins for teams like Minnesota or Illinois.
|1 year 1 week ago||Haha we're on the same schedule bud..||
I'm sticking with my guesses though
|1 year 2 weeks ago||Hey if you guys like this thread||
Hey if you guys like this thread, this is pretty much my write-up from the day before:
We have different ideas how the teams are tiered but similar ideas on the importance of home-court and the one-off games. Maybe I'll post a few articles to here later in the year so no one beats me to the punch.

right, although he did go out of his way in a footnote to mention he played for them

To help the issue of clutter on the front page, having a link to the previous and next articles chronologically would help the readability of the website. My strategy coping with this right now is opening up multiple tabs to read over the course of the day. Naturally this slows up my computer and Internet connection but I KNOW I didn't miss anything this way.

The consequences for the dismissed children and their parents were not anticipated. The children may have been freed, but at the same time they were trapped in a harsh environment with no skills, little or no education, and precious few alternatives. Schools were either inaccessible, useless or costly. A series of follow-up visits by UNICEF, local non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and the International Labour Organization (ILO) discovered that children went looking for new sources of income, and found them in work such as stone-crushing, street hustling and prostitution — all of them more hazardous and exploitative than garment production. In several cases, the mothers of dismissed children had to leave their jobs in order to look after their children.
This is a very tricky topic. But its just the way the global economy works right now

Makes me think that picture of Gary Harris wearing a UM shirt the other day was a sign!

When North Quad was being built, the company contracted to do the metal inspection messed up big time and had a shitty, just awful, shitty, (one more time? shittyyyyy) inspector sent to the North quad job site.. My girlfriend, who works in the construction industry, was told to not be surprised if there were any problems with the piping..... Now this.
TLDR; I'm not surprised a metal pipe broke. The guy doing the inspecting should have been fired five times over already.

E.J. Levenberry hasn't signed his LOI to FSU yet.. Rumors are he is considering Tennessee heavily, though.
Is there any way we can snake-oil him away?

"I think we’re excited, obviously, to play in a great venue and play great rivalry game. It started in 1887 and [we’ll] continue it and go from there.”
Because I want to see some sort of game show, stump the schwab style, where Hoke goes to town on everyone.
