I'll take whoever is decent and still available.

Make sure to check...

...a schools certification.  To give your son the best opportunity at getting into U of M if he decides to attend a CC or another school make sure the schools certification is Regionally Accredited through the North Central Association.  This will make it more likely that the schools can share transfer credit but of course, nothing is guaranteed.

MAgoBLUE

Don't pay much attention to this.  Seems like the comments are more of a knock on o$u than Wal Mart.

Hopefully you get a nice discount on tuition at U of Phoenix since you work at Wal Mart.  I work for Devry University and Wal Mart associates get a 30% discount on tuition here.

Retort...

Since most of these "sales" organizations have pre-scripted presentations designed specifically to overcome your objections you need to be especially firm from the beginning.  Let them know that you are supportive of thier efforts but it just isn't for you.  These groups, especially Amway and their offshoots, really pit their recruits against anyone outside of their group that they would label a "dream stealer" or something similar.  So my best advice is to be supportive and don't bash or joke about what your friend or coworker is getting into.  Unfortunately, they will find out soon enough.

Put-In-Bay Used to sling drinks there after college. Check out the rental houses online and get on it now if you want something for July. Take plenty of beer over with you. You can take a car over to the island on the Miller Ferry for about $20 one-way. DO NOT DRIVE ANYTHING IF YOU'VE BEEN DRINKING. The cops on the island will give DUI's out on a moments notice - car, golf cart, scooter, bike...doesn't matter. If you get arrested you're in for some trouble getting back to the mainland w/ your buddies. Overall its a cool experience but plan on spending some cash in the bars. Food is a little pricey too. If you end up going, do not miss Mad Dog at the Round House during the day on the weekends. Great time. I'll be up there w/ a huge BP myself in the middle of July.
Priceless... Best comment of the day!!!
Beautiful! Nothing like a Ten D reference to start out a Friday! Thanks!!!
That would be great.... Not a Bronco's fan but my buddy just got added to their staff as a def. assistant. First text I sent him said, "Draft B. Graham...will not be disapointed."
No harm no foul... No problem Magnus...Love the name by the way...but I still think pulling info from any sparty-linked site (especially recruiting info) is a tough sell.
Don't believe the hype.... Its probably not a great idea to get unbiased recruiting information from a sparty site. Go back and find what Kevin and his family had to say about his day at U of M.
Invitation to Any Mgoblog posters... I live in Columbus and have traversed the last couple of big games down here. I could go through some of the negative points but they aren't really worth mentioning. Point is, we have a large tail gate right by the OSU Medical Center (just south-west of the shoe). It is great because has extremely easy access to parking, one of the relatively "nicest" walks to the stadium on that game day, and spitting distance from 315 to get the heck out of dodge if need be. I am a huge U of M fan, but most of my pals down here are o$u supporters. No one really messes with me and the other M fans that hang with us. It would still be a plus to hang with a guy like Amadou Ba on that day!
Yes.... Another thing to detract my attention away from actual responsibilitites! And now I will retire to the nerdery and play with my calculator until this actually is released.
Kiffin... is a lot like George W. Powerful daddy in his chosen profession, legacy of screw-ball tactics and border-line failure at previous stops, and somehow falls into these positions of power.
You are right OSU's summer quarter ends the week before the game but I'm not sure when the fall quarter starts. Their AD pointed out that one of the main reasons for the move was giving the fans a full Labor Day weekend w/o a game on Saturday.
Cowboys Living in Columbus I can't stand the 3 pro teams here in ohio...my grandfather was a huge Boy's fan coming from Little Rock, AR. Hope they don't blow it in the playoffs!
Wow.... Sounds like there's A LOT more to this USC crap then what we're hearing.
Hopefully... ...he doesn't have another accident like the one at the shoe a couple of years back.
Or... It could have to do with the fact that Pepsi just isn't that good and Coke has been taking market share left and right. Sorry to any Pepsi drinkers out there.
Nice I had a little Norm McDonald flash-back after I read your post Starko. Nicely done!
...putting the cart before.... Its still early guys and we're talking about the same USC that pulled two 5 star recruits right out from under U of M in the past couple of years. That being said, IF RR was able to pull this off all the haters would have to give him the credit he deserves. Head-to-head battles with USC and some of the big boys for Parker and Ash. Pretty impressive.
Horrible end... This is obviously bad news for anyone who follows the NFL and my heart goes out to his family, friends, and teammates. The events of the accident that caused his fatal injuries is just wierd. I will be very interested in how all this plays out. I've heard that Charlotte police already have homicide detectives investigating the accident.
Unfortunate I hear the "If he doesn't want to be here then go..." arguments but unfortunately with the current state of the program we are in no position to show talented players the door. If nothing else, Smith is a beast on Special Teams and the team will miss him in some area this upcoming season if he does leave. I would be shocked if Boo Boo is back. Maybe a little Adrian Arrington treatment would get his head back on straight.
Dallas radio... I'm listening to 105.3 The Fan from Dallas and they are reporting that a Bengals' rep has confirmed that Henry has passed away.
Damn Shame... I just read that too...what a great talent. Made a bunch of bad choices. Sorry to hear. http://www.google.com/search?q=chris+henry&hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=o…
Kelly At least Cincy fans didn't threaten his family. I'm pretty die-hard but these fans need to get a life...tell 'em RR!
God forbid... Roy takes his team to c-bus...his feelings may really get hurt!
Another option... I'd love to see the Big Ten somehow steal Boston College from the Big East. They meet all the requirements (football, bball, academics...) and they'd bring wicked sweet accents into the conf.
Think about it this way... Jimmy moves into Big 12 North territory where his only real competition for the Big 12 Championship game is Nebraska (and every once in a while Missouri). He gets away from USC, Oregon, Kelly's ND, and an Arizona program that is coming on BUT he still has his recruiting ties to CA. His ego is large enough to believe that he can make Kansas into a power rivaling their bball program.
Tenuta I do seem to remember some U of M fans foaming at the mouth when it was rumored that Tenuta would be joining the staff in AA IF Miles was the guy.
Another side to this.... This exact circumstance is another reason why the BCS sucks. Do you think for one second that BK up and leaves UC if they are preparing for a matchup with Florida in an NCAA FB playoff? The same could be said for RR and his WVU team after losing to Pitt. If these premier teams (or teams like WVU, UC, TCU that have amazing seasons) had something else to play for besides the pomp, circumstance, and dare I say it "tradition" of meaningless BCS games like a CHANCE to play for a National Championship I would think coaches would think twice about jumping ship.
Alternative... ...or the players could visit our rival's blogs and sites and lose 5 to 10 IQ points in a matter of seconds...I'm just saying.
your response I knew that would be someone's response. Unfortunately class and humor sometime blur a very fine line. No offense (and probably playing devil's advocate) but what is classy about your avatar? Even though I enjoy the picture, the "Ohio Sucks" shirt is very similar to some of the "classless" comments that are routinely targeted towards me by osu fans when I'm in my Michigan gear. Just saying...
MAC Love Freddie Barnes, WR for BGSU. Finalist for the Biletnikoff Award. 138 receptions, 1551 yds, 18 total TDs.
It Is All In Fun I don't care if this paper belonged to Pryor or not, its funny regardless. And to the people who think this is "classless" I will throw a big-fat C'MON your way. Don't think for one second that a buckeye wouldn't post something like this about a U of M student. I love it...anything to make the qb of our rival look any worse after his team has lopsided thier way to a nice winning streak against us has my approval. By the way, the guy is pretty dumb. Watch him during the Rose Bowl...at times he'll look like tressel just asked him to recite Pie to the 34th figure.
Defensive Invites The only other defensive player I can remember who was invited to the Downtown Athletic Club was Steve Etman of Washington. Suh was most certainly a force, but he plays on a 4 loss team. Not saying its right, but that plus defense equals no love from Heisman voters. Give it to Gerhardt. He had a monster season and hit up one of the classic Heisman criteria....played huge against ND on national TV in prime time.
Its just sad... ....that contracts and numbers could prove this rumor to be very true. Nothing like sending one of your team's most loved players to the evil empire. Why doesn't MLB just get rid of all the teams besides NYY, Boston, NY Mets, and the Dodgers? What a joke.
South Bend needs... Less speculation and some action in the direction of a defensive head coach.
Why... this didn't make national news blows my mind.
I'm thankful... ...for not being the only one that does the refresh thing! Last night's Scout post regarding CC's committment had to break a refresh record!
Good thing... ...Jimmy didn't pull that crap with Gary Moeller in the bar...
Not even close.... Missing an extra 15 practices is huge. I hope it doesn't affect the underclassmen too much during spring ball.
In the words of Bobby Bowden... DAG GUM....
I love it... I thought he was going to grab the camera at one point!
Wow... The author stole the idea for this article from another one by Bruce Hooley on Foxsports.com. Granted, Bruce is a radio personality in Columbus, but take it for what its worth.
Try living in Columbus... 1998 was probably my worst experience during The Game. My younger brother was in his undergrad at osu and got me a ticket for The Game for my birthday. Unfortunately it was located in the Block O section filled with drunk students. My brother lived besides a couple of osu players that were really cool and they pleaded with me not to wear my Maize and Blue to the game. I agreed, buried my shame, and went to the game. The first thing I witnessed when we sat down was terrible. An older Michigan fan was walking in front of Block O (right above the tunnel on the closed end of the Shoe) and was struck by a flying bottle of somesort. He instantly went down, and I assumed he was knocked out. He was carried out on a stretcher to cheers and a loud version of "we don't give a damn about the whole state of michigan...". Needless to say, my cheering for M that day was extremely quiet. 2006 wasn't as bad and I wasn't quite sure if it was because of Bo's death or the fact that the buckeye faithful was extremely nervous for the game.
Of course.... It was all Cooper's doing and the boys from AA had nothing to do with it. What's the excuse for the 1969 result?
DG The question regarding a RS for Gardner is largely going to depend if he is an early enrollee or not. On another note, this weeks Sports Ill. had him featured in the "Faces in the Crowd" section for his performance in that Stebenville game. No mention of his U of M ties.
I also live in c-bus and I also live in c-bus and couldn't stop laughing at the demeanor of the guys on The Fan this afternoon. The hosts were acting like someone just bashed their dog's head in with a bat while dropping a cleveland-steamer on their mother's face. The callers to that show just prove the buckeye faithful have no clue about the sport and should be ashamed how they treat their team and coach after a loss.
