‘Good to see and very…

‘Good to see and very fortunate that no one was seriously hurt.’

Serious question, to which I honestly don’t know the answer but doesn’t the pilot have some sort of legal, if not moral obligation to safely ditch the plane? (I’m reminded of a scene central to the story in Pat Conroy’s The Great Santini)

This is not a rant. This is…

This is not a rant. This is an informed response. As someone who matriculated to Flint and became a full-time resident for almost a decade upon graduation, I thank you for posting.

If true, we should be…

If true, we should be celebrating the findings, not hiding from them. Think about it, you’ve got a disgruntled former employee trying to throw his ex-boss under the bus and the best he can come up with is a couple cheeseburgers, an analyst on the field and a workout viewed remotely? Lol!

Jim’s new contract should…

Jim’s new contract should become effective the day after any suspension (if there is one) is served and include a signing bonus precisely equal to the wages lost from the previous contract while serving that suspension.

I’ve not heard or read…

I’ve not heard or read anywhere the significance of Blake Corum’s absence. Not saying this is the reason for our loss. Injuries are part of the game (TCU lost their RB1 in the first quarter). Edwards is a fine back, explosive. Heck, his performance in Columbus is the reason we reached the quarterfinals in the first place. But Edwards is NOT Corum. As a result we were in 3rd-and-7 all day.

Forgetting about the fact that if Corum is in the backfield, we don’t fumble on the one yard line and likely have no need to run the Philly Special on our other chance inside the five… What I am saying is that we did not get the game we wanted to see — 〽️’s boa constrictor, wear ‘em down approach vs. the wide open, Big 12 style of TCU.

To continue Brian’s boxing analogy, ‘Styles make fights’. Unfortunately, our Wolverines were fighting southpaw in this one.

For all of their contributions to 〽️’s success the past couple of years, we should ‘loan’ Jaybaugh to the the Ravens’ Defensive staff next year (while we hopefully hold on to Minter for one more year). Then after a year of ‘finishing school’ we bring him back as the next in the pipeline. He’s due.

No kidding… while we’re at it, can we look at CC’s hockey program? Just sayin’ ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

How can we expect to recruit…

How can we expect to recruit any punters when we don’t even give him the damn ball?!

So I read thru the entire…

So I read thru the entire comments section and didn’t see this noted: Costco is a great option because they automatically extend the manufacturer’s warranty by one year. I purchased a 70” Sony there within the last year or two and am thrilled with it. Re: Soundbar, I bought the matching Sony brand so that they could easily ‘talk’ to each other (single remote)

Finally:

Granholm = pretty

Whitmer = sexy

What’s Gerard Gallant up to these days?

I think it boils down to…

I think it boils down to your 3). Bennett is not good under pressure and 〽️ is exceptional at applying it. If the good guys can get to 21 — either by screwing with their linebackers, trickeration, our special teams advantage or a defensive score — I don’t think the Dawgs can keep up, especially if they are playing from behind.

Speaking of television…

Speaking of television coverage as it relates to recruiting, how awesome was it that Fox stuck with the coverage and the pouring of the fans on to the field for a good 20 minutes after the game ended? That scene, along with the subsequent Big Game wrap-up outside the stadium was like a 45 min 〽️ recruiting infomercial. What a scene!

*and players!

As long as we are exploring…

As long as we are exploring implausible scenarios, what are the Playoff implications of 〽️ and MSU both winning out the regular season but MSU losing in the B1G championship game to a resurgent Wisconsin/Minnesota/Iowa and thereby gaining a second loss in a game that 〽️ didn’t have to play? Ouch!

Agreed… how replicable is…

Agreed… how replicable is this year’s success? Riding a generational, one-and-done, transfer portal running back and a 120/120 pass defense doesn’t seem like a long term recipe for sustained excellence. Heck, the year isn’t even over yet. Who’s to say even this year will be a success by the time it’s all played out? Still, for any kind of Dantanio-esque run, Sparty is going to have to catch somebody on the way up and hope he sticks around.  If they are happy with his recruiting chops, they may as well put their chips on Mel. His track record suggests the sticking around part may be a problem though.

I, along with many others on this site I’m sure, would much appreciate this. Yours was the most informative writing that I encountered on the subject so I look forward to the next chapter.  Thank you!

I was very intrigued by the…

I was very intrigued by the on length concept and actually built a set of Cobra F7 Ones (a beautiful looking iron BTW) which I only hit once before selling them. Here’s the problem:  one length sticks are typically spec’d to an 8 iron length. I carry 6,7,8,9,P,G,S. Going to an all 8 iron length only shortens 2 of my clubs and lengthens (or sub-optimizes, in my case) 4 of them. Plus, one length clubs only affect a sub-set of you entire bag so while they do reduce the number, they only take it from 13 (discounting the putter) swing/set-ups to 7, not 1.

Similar experience here as…

Similar experience here as several of the other posters:  2 in the shoulder, 1 in the knee, all with great success — when combined with PT. I did want to add one piece of advice though: DO NOT look at the needle. This is not a run of the mill flu shot. When the Doc starts asking you about how your day is going it’s not because they give a damn about how your day is going. They are trying to distract you from said needle! Good Luck!

Was thinking the same thing but feared getting negged to oblivion. To complete the thought, might Winston have benefited from Camp Sanderson — improved explosiveness, etc.?

Totally agree. I’ve never…

Totally agree. I’ve never understood this coaching philosophy whether from JB, JH or anyone else: ‘we may lose the game but I’ll be gotdamned if he is going to foul out!’

If I were an opposing player…

If I were an opposing player, I would pass the ball to him while he is standing on the court. What choice would the official have but to T him up? Would be particularly timely if he already had one technical.

I am of similar age with similar concerns and agree that the iPace looks fantastic both inside and out. Plus, you don’t see them very often so there is a certain ‘exotic’ factor which is appealing. I have read great things about their handling as well. Your comment about the range has been the sticking point for me however. I just don’t think that 220 is enough for me — and certainly not at that price point. I am hopeful that they execute a mid-cycle technology enhancement which results in a more competitive range and then they will have me.

I decided to try the Popeyes…

I decided to try the Popeyes chicken sandwich a few months back once all of the initial hype died down. I’ve got to say, it was a life altering experience. You are right about the lines though — especially the one at the truck stop on Baker Rd west of A2. The lines aren’t long because there are so many customer, they are long because they DO NOT MOVE. Even so, I’ve driven 25 minutes to get down there only to wait in a 40 min drive thru line (which I fully expected) on more than one occasion because that spicy chicken is so damn delicious. Their tenders are also top notch but their sides are trash.

Thanks Rob. Now I won’t have to ‘bother’ watching the hockey game that I have spent the last 2.5 hours recording ?

That’s just great you…

That’s just great you fucking ? 〽️ basketball and hockey are both on at the same time — both on national networks so recordable. Do you think that some of us might want to watch one and record the other?! And those of us that don’t can simply switch channels — or switch threads. Keep the hockey score on the hockey thread. FFS. SMH. ?‍♂️

Because they have volumes of data confirming that when shopping for insurance, the only thing that matters to consumers is ‘awareness.’ That’s why Gieco, Liberty Mutual and Progressive spots — with no discussion of lower funnel measures (features and benefits) — run ad nauseum. It’s all about name recognition.

Mann — Pro Potential?

It’s noted so matter-of-factly here that I can only surmise that it has been covered previously and I missed it... Why doesn’t Mann have pro aspirations/ potential?  Ever since last year’s MGoArticle about him, he has been my favorite Wolverine athlete. Would love to see the Red Wings — whose organization is sorely in need of some goaltending depth — sign him as an UDFA.

They were a few years before my time but I had often heard that Traffic was the greatest rock band of all time. Been spending a lot of time with them this summer on Pandora and am beginning to come around to that conclusion.

genre: 70’s pop. 70’s on 7 is number 1 on my Sirius/XM dial because it is family friendly and frankly, I know all the words. I am constantly amazed at the breadth and artistry from this period (though I am sure similar arguments could be made for most any decade)

Thanks for sharing OP. I have a 12 yr old son on the spectrum. I have been holding off on taking him to a game for all of the concerns that you mentioned. This story gives me hope that it might be possible because of the on-site accommodations that are available which were previously unknown to me.

I’m as disappointed in last weekend’s result as anybody so not making excuses. I wonder however, if we are able to pull the remainder of the season out of the fire, that it will be because we will see in retrospect that Wiscy was uniquely constructed — dominant O-line and Heisman caliber running back — to take advantage of our lack of depth, size and experience on the d-line.

UM Evening MBA grad here ‘95…

UM Evening MBA grad here ‘95. 50 miles each way, twice a week for 5 years. Glad I did it when I was younger, before married, before kids — as there would be no way that I would have the time or energy to do it now. In my experience, the hardest part about it (other than paying for it) was getting in. That being the case, make sure you have got your act together re: your application and test scores. There’s nothing that you can do about your undergrad transcripts at this point but you CAN maximize your test scores thru practice tests, prep classes etc. Grad B-school is SO much about team work. Group projects abound. With mine being a 50 mile commute, it was key to find a group of like minded individuals from the same geographic area — and in some cases, the same employer — so that we wouldn’t have to waste additional weeknights or weeknights commuting to A2 for project meetings. I suppose these days that those meetings could be all held virtually, without the need to travel.  Another benefit of this approach is that once that team dynamic is established and everyone’s relative strengths as weaknesses were understood, subsequent projects were completed VERY efficiently. I acknowledge that this approach limits the networking opportunities afforded by grad school. However, my group wasn’t looking to switch jobs after graduation but rather, to enhance our budding careers. Good Luck!
