Little Caution

First off I wanna say that Trey's work ethic, ball handling skills and competitiveness will be a welcome addition to this team.  I think he is going to fit right in with the rest of the guys on the team.

However, I do wanto comment on his shooting in the videos, someone commented on how they loved all his threes.  I just want to point out as someone who played in an offense similiar to this in high school that those threes he made mean nothing.  He might be a great shooter but all of the passes he got before knocking those shots down were kick outs from the post and thats not part of our offense.

I would have liked to see him knock down some threes off of passes from the wing because thats how he will his shots next year

Still pumped that he will be in maize and blue though!!!

Lot of good names on here but heres a guy a friend showed me a couple months ago.  Jim Jeffries, these are clips from his stand up called "I Swear To God."  This guy is very angry and pessimistic but hilariously funny and hammered during the show

I couldnt agree more with the

I couldnt agree more with the idea that they should compete in seperate divisions.  My sister is a hell of a tennis player and she plays for a really small school on the west side of the state.  We have no business being good at a (forgive me when I say this) more upper class, wealthy sport such as tennis, especially  since the only indoor tennis facility to use during the winter is 30 mins away.  Although my sister actually won the whole tournament at her flight 2 times, her team as a whole would always finish 2nd or 3rd to private schools in each of her 4 years.  These schools did recruit the best players from across the state and they really didnt care who knew it.  It just doesnt seem to fair to our team who has developed one of the top programs in the state by using their own players and developing them into good tennis players.

Maybe not the case in all sports but definately in tennis.  Also, there are more private schools than you think.  K christian, Hackett, GR Christian, TC St. Francis, couple in Muskegon, Midland/Bay City area?, metro Detroit

Wow terrible news indeed.  I

Wow terrible news indeed.  I know Jon from class as we are both in the same program and he seems like a good person, easy to talk to and always has a smile.  Get well soon to Jon and Mark

Classic Phil Steele as he is

Classic Phil Steele as he is horrible.  I might have missed something but last I checked TCU still has Gary Patterson as their coach (who is damn good too!).  Howeva, ND of course is overrated, as is USC, Penn St. (slightly), Auburn (really?), Oklahoma is not the best team.  UNC will be good their defense is REDICULOUS.  Wisconsin maybe a little underrated.

But to me is ranking of Oregon 10th shows that hes is about is good a making a top 25 list as Drew Sharp is at writing a factual column (sorry all I got).  I mean seriously their entire football team has been suspended from the team at some point this season.  There defense was bad in the rose bowl and I dont think you can rank them in the top 10 without knowing anything about who is going to replace Massoli.  He was the heart of the team

As someone who is a current As someone who is a current student in Ann Arbor, this screams Ypsi kids coming over and starting shit again. Honestly, I have experienced this stuff personally, two years in a row friends of mine have been robbed and beaten up by to these Ypsilanti kids. Its just kinda weird that there were also fires in garbage cans and on parked cars. Obviously hard to jump to conclusions like this but there is kind of a feeling around campus that there are a lot fo those kids who have been coming over and starting problems recently because people in Ann Arbor dont expect things like this to happen in our town
The part that is frustrating The part that is frustrating is that it shouldn't have happened. I just will never understand why you dont put someone on the ball or if your not going to do that double team fucking turner. Or heres a novel approach, pick them up and pressure them. I'm not calling for his head either but I do think that next year is a big year for him. Another season like this one and a change may have to be made.
I dont know about all of you, I dont know about all of you, but I just have this gut feeling that Michigan is going to try to hang about 65 on the Spartans this year. I mean sure they have a solid linebacking core coming back next year, but they definitely had issues up front and in the defensive secondary last year. Looking at their recruiting class, Gholston should help the D Line if hes ready but they didnt really adress their secondary. Also, just being on the campus I really think that the players are sick of losing to little bro, especially at the big house. I also like the forgive but not forget comment and I think that may have been directed at Big 10 teams like Purdue, MSU and possibly Illinois to a degree? I think/hope they come out and try to make a statement in that game. Wishful Thinking?
I know the kid from class I know the kid from class throughout the years and the word that I got from others within the athletic community today is that he was having surgery on the thumb this morning. This was the first I had heard in terms of a time table but it sounded pretty minor and didnt seem like it should affect him throughout the rest of the season. If thats any consolation
TREY ZIEGLER!!!! Wishful TREY ZIEGLER!!!! Wishful thinking?
yea regardless of what yea regardless of what happens when you go to Michigan...your a wolverine for life. I love Braylon but thats chicken shit
I wrote about this in the I wrote about this in the game blog but Sims absolute lack of effort and desire on the defensive end of the floor in rebounding and defense is the whole problem with this team and its why we are 6 and 6. Today was the worst but it has been horrible all year. Thats the difference between this team this year and last year. Shooting comes and goes, defensive effort does not, that was sickening to watch as a Michigan fan
DeShawn Sims is the problem with our team Let me first start by saying that I hate bashing our own players, I was mad when the fans booed Chad Henne against Oregon and I hate when people tear down are own guys. But that performance, or lack there of by DeShawn today was unacceptable for anyone who represents Michigan. His lack of desire and effort on the glass and on the defensive end of the floor was disgusting. That has been the problem with our team all year. Sure other our shooters were cold at the beginning of the year but he has to be a stopper in the middle of the defense, regardless of what system we are playing, if we are gonna win any games this year. Sure he is averaging 16.1 ppg on offense and that is important. But in our big wins last year we got some stops on defense because he was rebounding and stopping players like Johnson from Purdue inside, forcing teams to shoot the ball from the outside. I have not seen every game this year, but I have seen many of them and he just does not seem to care about making a stop on the defensive end of the floor or rebounding the ball on the defensive end. The tough part about all of this is that we cant take him out of the game because even though Zach Gibson has been playing his heart out, hes not a threat on offense and not athletic enough to play the middle on defense. He is a senior this is his last go round and to me he has mentally checked out and hasnt been here all year. Regardless of your skill level, you can always play hard and give full effort. He needs to realize the opportunity that he has, many would kill for the chance to represent Michigan athletics. Sorry for the rant but I had to get this off my chest
I dont disagree with your I dont disagree with your statement but, as an economist, does he get more as a second round pick this year than the average second round pick....that remains to be seen with the labor agreement. Obviously, I really want him to come back. Im just saying think about it from his perspective. What if he comes back and gets hurt.
you forgot a couple you forgot a couple guys...Williams (unless he can learn to tackle) Obi (Seriously, I loved you coming into the year...WHAT HAPPENED LEARN THE PLAYS...I want, no need, you to be good again) and Kovacs (although he put up a great effort this year in spite of his lack of god given talent). We need legitimate players at these positions and we will be back on out way to national prominence. (If Tate matures, which as a student, I am worried about. Please be good I want you save the Big House).
I dont post on here a lot but I dont post on here a lot but I read a lot of the stories and love other peoples input (TomVH, Other Brian etc....), but Warren may be able to get a lot more money this year if he goes out. Not only are a lot of teams looking for quality cover corners (just seems to be the vibe from various NFL teams) but this year it looks as like the NFL will not have a salary cap. I honestly think that may have been a huge factor in Brandon Graham coming back this year. If D Warren finds out that he will be at the least a 2nd round pick he might go just because he can get considerably more money than the average 2nd round pick. Obviously, being a die hard M fan and being a kid who is the same class as Warren I REALLY REALLY want him to stay but i couldnt fault him if he decided to go. I think that you need to look at the other factors other than his love for Michigan. Not saying he is leaving just saying that him saying he is coming back next year is far from set in stone and the more corner recriuts we can get the better. (Sorry if I am being repetitive I love this blog and read it everyday)
I dont know that they are a I dont know that they are a team on the rise...their QB is great but he is a senior so it will be interesting to see how they bounce back. I was at the game and Western would have won this football game if their "all-world" QB Tim Hiller could hit an open receiver. Stats for Hiller were great, but he was content to check down and didnt throw the ball down the field until the game was over. Almost got his receivers killed many times and just made terrible decisions. Also, WMU's D coordinator Steve Morrison(former UM great so its hard to say this) should be fired. Their corners play 15 off the line every play so all central did is run a 10 yard hook and it was open all day.
There is no chance that these There is no chance that these guys were going to be on the list but what about Feagin and Terrance Robinson. Feagin made some nice plays in the Minny game and T Rob is the author of the dream shake. If I recall correctly a lot of folks thought that he was going to be the starting slot guy before he got hurt.
The only reason that this is The only reason that this is even be construed a being nasty and negative is because of Benedict Boren and the media's comments about how Rich Rod runs his program. Transfers happen a lot and players say things similar to his when they do move on. This is just another story that delusional Spartys, Buckeyes and Neers will take and twist to paint our coach in a bad light
Marques Slocum because he is Marques Slocum because he is a fuck lion... Is that horse dead yet?
I really like entourage still I really like entourage still just because it is very entertaining. There are a lot better shows such as weeds, dexter, south park and even californication but lost is the most overrated show ever on tv. I watched the show for a while and NOTHING EVER HAPPENS. Look here for more details. http://www.whylostsucks.com/2006/04/02/this-is-a-test/
Brad Stuart's play tonight = Brad Stuart's play tonight = 2008 Nick Sheridan he was the penguins most valuable player
Really the only thing that Really the only thing that draper brings to the team is leadership and faceoffs. Draper is basically the same player as Helm, but Helm is about 10 years younger. The only players that you could even think about taking out of the lineup for Draper are Maltby or Leino. As for Datsyuk, I think he has a broken foot. If he could skate he would play, but its hard to skate when your foot is so swollen that it cant go into your boot. Sadly, I dont think we will see him again this post-season
I was a friend of toney's I was a friend of toney's when he was still at school and he never had anything bad to say about coach rodriguez. It is a simple as they were just different coaches. He liked different things about both of them. He told me that Michigan will always be his number 1 but he did just not have a spot here. He is the kind of kid you would want to represent your team and we should all wish him well.
