Fair enough. It is kind of hard to gauge without being able to see it.

The game is not on here in Boise, but isn't the point of the power play that you cannot just pick up your "respective man?" A good power play will move the puck around and force the defenders to move as well, right?

I think that a lot of people are having 20/20 hindisght on Gardner. I don't recall Gardner being "our clear #2 QB" at the time that he would have entered the Nebraska game. We were all very pleasantly surprised by the way he closed out 2012, but up until he took over the reins he had been quite inconsistent at QB. Based on his QB performances up to that point, I don't think that there was any evidence or consensus that he would be clearly better than Bellomy. Not knowing that the light would suddenly go on for Gardner at QB is not necessarily roster mismanagement, especially since that would have meant leaving one of our best athletes on the bench for the majority (and ideally all) of the season.

Hey, show some respect. It is spelled Adraeioun. His parents really like vowels.

That's good because I definitely didn't want to lose to the team leading the league in stupid looking facial hair.

I would, but I don't live in Michigan and I therefore very rarely happen upon any Sparty fans.

Watching the fans streaming out of the building with time still on the clock can't help his perception of the OSU fanbase.

Despite there being some truth in what you said, the reports on MM's recruitment indicate that those things were NOT the reason he chose MSU. If Hoke starts selling the parties, and lack of class attendance as positives (or at least brushing off those things as valid concerns by a recruit's parents) then he would be doing a disservice to the school and to the recruit. I don't think that there is a recruit out there that it talented enough to warrant that kind of an approach from Michigan.
You can point out the negatives of the last couple of years all you want (while overlooking the positives, such as our own stud recruits that should be getting more involved this year), but I don't think that it is fair to assume that 2012 and 2013 seasons are somehow the new normal. MSU's recent successes have been with teams that were very experienced and were being led by a coach that had been with the program for a significant period of time. As Hoke's team goes from being a very young one with uneven talent, to a more experienced one with more high end talent, we should be able to figure out a lot more about where this team is headed.
|4 weeks 2 days ago||Are you saying that we should||
Are you saying that we should have told him that he doesn't have to attend class? It sounds like the partying and MSU's lax attitude towards academics were selling points to him. That is not what Michigan should be selling, and if that is what it would have taken then he doesn't belong here and I hope that he goes 0-4 against Michigan.

Thinking long-term could also mean considering the fact that everybody knows that Narduzzi has one foot out the door. Most of Malik's career at MSU would be under some other DC, whose identity is not yet known. Since MSU has prided themselves on defensive team chemistry, losing such a key piece of their coaching staff could really hurt their defense.

It is actually pretty funny. If Mattison really wanted to be a dick about it, he could have walked in and said something like, "Oh, you are still here? I'm sorry, but I thought you had already left for yet another interview for a head coaching position. I am really going to miss coaching against you when you leave next year."
|5 weeks 3 days ago||Hopefully he realizes that||
Hopefully he realizes that Narduzzi will be gone after next season and doesn't want to deal with the uncertainty of who will replace him. Maybe he also realizes that Michigan has the makings of an elite defense that just needs some elite talent on the d-line. Maybe he just realizes that Michigan is a FAR BETTER school and Ann Arbor is a better town then EL. Who knows?
Hopefully he decides to GO BLUE!

I hate it that they keep showing the replay of Harris where he CLEARLY pushes off on Levert to get the shot, and they talk about what a great shot it is.

It would be more intellectually honest if the refs would just award MSU 20 points to start the game and then call the game evenly. I hate getting homered.

So MSU has committed one foul all half despite playing "tight, physical defense?" Screw you refs.

Don't worry. Damien just forgot to flip the page on his calendar from December 2013 to January 2014. Once he realizes that this is 2014, he will be be back in the fold and solidly Blue.

Tom Brady wins the Super Bowl, decides to go out on top, retires from the NFL, and comes to Ann Arbor to serve as Michigan's OC (and eventual HC) and savior.
You did say home run, so why not swing for the fences? Some former (and certainly lesser) QBs seem to be having success returning to their alma maters.*
* I realize this is a pipe dream, but a guy can hope, right?

Nobody is saying that their loss somehow makes our season better than theirs, but you do have to love that Urban started his OSU career 24-0 and has ZERO conference championships, ZERO national championship game appearances, and ZERO bowl wins. Wouldn't it be spetacular if this turns out to be the pinnacle of Urban's OSU career, and he never again goes undefeated in the regular season?
|11 weeks 5 days ago||Then again, it has to gnaw at||
Then again, it has to gnaw at Urban that many people were not certain that an undefeated OSU should have a shot at the NC game over a one-loss SEC team. The weakness of the B1G also hurts him at OSU.

Even though Dantonio is a mirthless prick, and even though I hate seeing MSU so happy, I have to admit that it is hilarious that Urban started his OSU career 24-0 and will have won ZERO conference titles and appeared in ZERO national championship games. It will be even more enjoyable if these two years represent the zenith of his career as the B1G rebounds from its current depths.

BSU did have a pretty young team this year, and they lost their starting QB and backup RB to injuries about halfway through the season. It will be interesting to see what they are able to do next year.
|13 weeks 11 hours ago||That was my thinking too.||
That was my thinking too. Clearly the universe is conspiring to inflict as much pain as possible upon Michigan this year, while favoring rivals with unearned benefits.
Then again, maybe Ballage takes a look a UW now.
|13 weeks 11 hours ago||While BSU's facilities may||
While BSU's facilities may not be as good as those in other, bigger schools, health care in Boise is actually quite good, and some of the facilities are highly regarded.
|13 weeks 11 hours ago||Maybe I am biased because I||
Maybe I am biased because I live in Boise, but I don't understand all of the hatred for BSU. They are a team comprised largely of two-star and three-star players (according to rivals they have had two four-star recruits sign with them in the last DECADE), and yet they have largely been able to hold their own when given the chance to play against quality BCS opponents. Nobody is arguing that the Mountain West schedule is like playing in the SEC (or even the B1G), but it is hard to argue that they have not put together some quality teams over the last decade.
It seems that many Michigan fans grudgingly respect Dantonio for "coaching up" his players and overachieving, but hate on BSU for having been very successful with one-tenth of the talent that Dantonio has to work with. I don't get it.
