So it is effective. If they finish last they're guaranteed McDavid or Eichel
|26 weeks 4 days ago||Why wouldnt they||
The Sabres were destined to be a bottom 5 team this year and this year has the McDavid-EIchel sweepstakes. Why pull for the Sabres to get 20th and extend their awfulness vs. hoping they finish last as an investment for future seasons? It makes sense.
|26 weeks 4 days ago||That's not what's going on at all||
The Sabres are at the bottom of their rebuild. They've got a pretty solid farm system right now and still a number of draft picks for the next few seasons. The Dave Brandon / Jed York comparison is competely out of left field...you didn't say how they went together
They've been building from the ground up and should be on the upswing again soon

If numerous schools in Division 1 looked at him and decided he wasn't good enough for an offer, then he's not good enough for an offer. It's the same things thousands of high schoolers go through every year.
Good luck at Butler. If he's good enough, we'll see him playing D1 somewhere eventually

Elite Selfie game indeed. Brilliant hire

Interestingly, I live in western New York which is way, way Polish and no one out here has ever heard of Packzis.
|38 weeks 5 hours ago||Happy to have Marrone?||
Michigan fans would've been furious with Marrone
|38 weeks 5 hours ago||As a Buffalo resident & growing Bills fan I can only say||
He left the Bills for greener pastures, got a worse job, and the Bills probably got a coaching upgrade in the process. You're underqualified for the NFL anyway
|46 weeks 5 hours ago||We were basically a play away from winning.||
I know there's no 'almosts' in football, but a crappy Michigan team basically played #3 OSU to a draw. Hoke's team plays OSU well. I definitely don't think we'll win, but I do think they'll perform much better than many are expecting
|46 weeks 5 hours ago||Very strange that Alabama||
Very strange that Alabama feels theatened by UAB. This is like Michigan blocking CMU (if CMU was a M cmapus) from hiring Dan Enos or something. I'd respond with "You seriously feel threatened by CMU? You're Michigan" I say the same thing to Bama. UAB couldn't touch them in a million years
|46 weeks 5 hours ago||In the battle where Team A||
In the battle where Team A forces a ton of turnovers vs. Michigan, I generally trust Beilein's guards to protect the ball. He infamously humiliated VCU with not just Burke, but also THJ and Spike handling the ball. I would think the combined skills of Walton, LeVert, and Spike should largely negate Nova's skill there

I know for UB (Buffalo), they are determined - no matter how impossible the task seems - to be relevant in football because they see it as a big boost for attracting students and presumably boosting the universities profile. I'd wonder how many of these schools are reasonably happy to eat these AD deficits because they see it as a net gain with enrollment (tuition) and academic profile gains
|46 weeks 4 days ago||Rough win, but not overly concerning||
Beilein's teams seem to start slow sometimes and pick up. Last year being a great example.
I suspect Beilein will find ways to cover for the weaknesses at the 4 and 5 and we'll still be a top 3 finisher in the Big Ten by seasons end
|46 weeks 5 days ago||Just saw this picture||
It started snowing Tuesday:
|46 weeks 5 days ago||Well...that actually isnt true||
I drove up and down Transit yesterday till I came across National Guard Humvees. That road is mostly clear. The real road snare is that all the freeways (I-90,190,290) are mostly closed.
|46 weeks 5 days ago||But seriously||
Its supposed to be 50 on Sunday and 57 on Monday. Everyones worried about snow now, they're going to have to worry about severe flooding in a few days.
Imagine 7 freakin feet of snow melting. Build your arks
|46 weeks 5 days ago||Perhaps your affinity for the UP is getting overblown||
but South Buffalo is just as grizzled to the snow as the UP is. Trying to go to work in 12" of snow is called "Tuesday" - as I'm sure it is in the UP. I live in Buffalo
|46 weeks 5 days ago||I haven't looked at the numbers||
and I know the UP gets a ton off Superior, but the lake effect alleys for South Buffalo (Lake Erie) and Watertown (Lake Ontario) get as much snow as anyone.
I know the UP gets snow...but 7 feet in 72 hours? I'm a little skeptical thats a 'typical UP winter'
|46 weeks 5 days ago||Some of the southtowns have||
Some of the southtowns have 5-7 feet. Not a drifting 5-7 feet. Just 5-7 feet.
Theyve got national guard humvees and the whole nine yards out there
|47 weeks 2 hours ago||I live in the area and have||
I live in the area and have heard there were already plans to upgrade and/or replace the Northtown Center as is which would seem to naturally give UB an arena right across the street fit for D1 hockey.
The added information that Pegula may be interested is quite interesting. Dude paid cash for the Bills and I doubt UB really needs that much assistance to justify supporting D1 hockey again. Seems like a slam dunk for UB to me and if Pegula is willing to throw a few million in the pot it's basically a done deal from there
|47 weeks 8 hours ago||Come home Mel||
On the bright side, I know the hockey team is being massively disappointing again but three of our losses are to now #1 Tech and #3 BU. We also have a win over #5 Lowell
The 5-1 home loss to UNH remains awful, but there may still be some hope that this team can pull it together in the pretty awful Big Ten
But seriously, Mel come back. I take back everything I ever said about you
|47 weeks 9 hours ago||Over here in Buffalo NY some||
Over here in Buffalo NY some of the south towns got well over 3 feet last night while the north side of the city (where I am) got less than an inch. Gotta love lake effect
|1 year 2 weeks ago||Well this a bummer||
because I was actually planning to bring a few non-Michigan fans (but general sports enthusiasts) to the game to get their first Michigan experience.
Pros: We can get tickets for free

He was ok. Pretty much an athlete running around on the field who was only pressed into service there because we didn't really have any other receiving options. Wasn't it him, Gallon, and Jeremy Jackson mostly starting vs Alabama?
DG cannot possibly have the hands, speed, or route running abilities of the other wideouts on the 2-deep. No way
|1 year 2 weeks ago||FWIW I saw the team walking||
FWIW I saw the team walking out of the Campus Inn before Utah and Gardner was visibly wincing and hobbling as he got on the team bus. I was somewhat surprised to see him start but adrenaline and some tape can get you through some pain. He's definitely hurting in some way

People in Delaware generally don't seem to care for college sports, but Penn State and WV are definitely the two most represented in the area and both have their own reasons for disliking us

They have a semi-rivalry in the ACC and I'm sure there's some bad blood between them

Also, pretty sure he's the son of a prominent car salesman in Buffalo by the same name. Random, but I knew I recognized the name somewhere. I'm going to speculate his full name is Joe Cecconi III or IV
