Greivis Vazquez had a very good year. Even led the NBA in assists, I think. I mean, it always depends who else is available, and whether or not they want to commit to Vazquez long-term (he can sign an extension to his rookie deal this offseason), but PG was not a weakness for New Orleans last year. Unfortunately for Trey it could be a bit of a wait if Orlando doesn't take him, unless some team wisely trades up. But the Pistons could end up lucking out (if they'd even know what to do with the pick.) |
| 1 week 1 day ago | I hope this isn't true |
He seems like a good, hard-working kid. I'd rather he stayed. |
| 1 week 4 days ago | Does ESPN have a public methodology for team rankings? |
I know the other services publicly say how they create their rankings, but I've never seen ESPN's. |
| 1 week 5 days ago | It's not clear what Hagerup's status is |
At least not to me. He's allowed to practice, but not participate in games, so has an effective redshirt. Maybe I missed it in the article, but it seems to me that his scholarship this year is not a given, but I'm not sure. That plus Kaleb Ringer's departure would clear one scholly. Regardless, I'll assume if this kid is interested in Michigan that he's talked to the coaches and is at least aware of the availability of a scholarship. |
| 2 weeks 2 hours ago | You're not at all scared that DG gets hurt? |
That's definitely my biggest fear. A true freshman and a walk-on redshirt freshman are the backups. We really need to get a grad-school transfer. |

You'll see that football outsiders has the by-line for the article. Mgoblog is just quicker than ESPN in talking about online content. |
| 2 weeks 3 hours ago | Football outsiders |
I'm fairly certain that they share some of their content with ESPN, which is why this is the same as last week's post. |
| 2 weeks 5 hours ago | Source? |
Not doubting you, but the most I could find about him was that he liked his visit in March, and doesn't seem the type to talk to reporters much. I don't subscribe to any sites, however, so I freely admit I could have missed something. |
| 2 weeks 5 hours ago | Braden Smith |
I think I remember him sounding pretty interested in Michigan a couple months back. Does anyone know what's up with him? He'd obviously be a great option for the OL as well. |
| 2 weeks 4 days ago | Lack of depth could be a real problem |
We have none at QB, and about the same on the OL (in that its either freshman replacements, or upper classmen replacements who couldn't beat out the freshmen). I do think the ceiling is higher than 9-3 if we keep the key players healthy, but if you have any sort of probabilistic model, you have to account for the possibility that Gardner, Lewan, or Schofield get hurt, at which point things can get ugly in a hurry. |
| 2 weeks 5 days ago | Insurance after graduation |
While I think this would be a good thing, could Michigan even offer five years (or any amount of time) of insurance after graduation, and still be within the confines of NCAA rules? Considering full cost of attendance isn't allowed, I can't imagine this would be. |
| 3 weeks 3 days ago | I haven't seen them in print |
But that's what they were talking about on NFL network after he was picked. |

Oh well. |

Are that the Jags see him as a RB. |
| 3 weeks 3 days ago | Henne to Denard? |
That'd be fun to see! |
| 3 weeks 5 days ago | That OSU DT |
I don't remember his name, because OSU, but he's been mentioned in a lot of mocks in the last 10 of the first round. |
| 3 weeks 6 days ago | Al Albuquerque |
I don't know why he doesn't get a chance. He's got the best stuff in that bullpen, and he's been quite effective in late-game situations. Not a Tigers fan, but is want him over Valverde. |
| 4 weeks 5 days ago | Sounds like a lot of father-son relationships |
Don't know why it's worth mentioning on the Internet. |
| 4 weeks 5 days ago | Depends what he's looking for |
If he wants a good chance at a starting job, then he should not come here. If he wants to be an important part of a great team (backup qbs are certainly important) while earning a graduate degree from a great school, then why not? I imagine it's the former, not the latter, with him, but should we get any grad qb transfer, it won't be due to available playing time. |
| 6 weeks 1 day ago | Reconciliation has to start some time |
Tomorrow is as good as any. And also, the anti-Chris Webber revisionist history has always bugged me. Michigan was down two in the final seconds when the Time Out heppened. Their win probability had to be pretty low in that situation, before the mistake. It's not like he cost Michigan that championship. We were probably going to lose anyway. It's also not like Webber was the only one who took things. Nearly a decade of wins were wiped out -- C-Webb only was at Michigan for two years. It's frankly lucky that the '89 championship wasn't taken away as well. The kid was in high school, maybe middle school, when Martin started giving him money. And he's been vilified for 15 years for it. It's time for us to let it go, and for him to let it go. I would hope he's there tomorrow, since it's not the Fab Five without him. Steve Fisher can stay far away tho. Adults should know better.

Technically has an NBA game to play in (or more likely sit on the bench for) tonight, so I can't imagine he'll be there. The Heat are off on Monday, so if we hypothetically get that far, maybe that would be the day for the reunion. King, Jackson, and Rose will all be there tonight, I bet. |
| 6 weeks 6 days ago | Don't be alarmed |
He only uses half of the buttons. |
| 6 weeks 6 days ago | Attitude issues? |
The kid turned down major college offers to play for his dad, then quit when his dad was fired. I don't see how that's an attitude issue, or even an indication of one. So he didn't like Pitt. Would you? That said, I'm not sure how much, if at all, Beilein looked at him post CMU, and I doubt we have the scholarship for him now anyway. Not to mention the difficultly of transferring into Michigan. |

But I also didn't see anything that said his attempt to help his coach fix his behavior didn't work. Yesterday afternoon he was saying that he'd seen all the video, taken action, and that if something new came up would take more action. What new came up in the last 12 hours aside from the politicians getting involved? He hasn't even been coaching for the last few weeks. If the AD was doing his job monitoring the situation, there should have been nothing new since the season ended. And likely there wasn't anything new, other than political pressure to make a different decision than he made the first time. I'm not sure the AD deserves to lose his job, but if Rice is able to get his full severance since nothing new happened since Decemeber when he was first punished, I would change my opinion. |
| 6 weeks 6 days ago | A bit of both |
Cuban likes attention for himself and his team. He also wants a winning team, and if Griner were somehow good enough (I doubt she will be, but she is great), then I don't think he'd be upset if it worked. That said, I fear the anti-title IX backlash, so I'd rather it didn't happen. |
| 7 weeks 14 hours ago | If I'm not mistaken |
He worked at a Dairy Queen for a day after DQ workers were offended. He said making Blizzards was difficult and apologized. |
| 7 weeks 5 days ago | Villarreal |
I have no idea why he didnt get a real chance to win the job himself this year, or why he was left off the post-season roster last year. Not quite as good against lefties, maybe, but still held them to a .507 OPS last year, which is great. Seems like he's fourth or fifth in line, but he's got great stuff, and great numbers to go with his stuff. |
| 8 weeks 6 days ago | In the B1G |
That's simply out of bounds off the offensive player. |
| 9 weeks 3 hours ago | Go win the NIT |
or at least get to Madison Square Garden, and then complain. It's the best way to prove you were a snub, and you can have a good time doing it. That was always my hope for Michigan when we barely missed out, and a few times we did just that. |
