How would helping York be a detriment to the victim?

Isn't Hoke's mantra about creating a family environment? What if one of your family members commits a crime, do you exile them or help them? Didn't the University commit to the student just as the student committed to the University? If he's labelled a criminal and expelled, isn't the University taking the easy way out by dumping it's problems elsewhere? What if he becomes a destructive force outside of campus? Rarely in life is "it's not my responsibility" an excuse.
What he did in the video was awful, but to have a purely angry emotional response to what appears to be a purely angry emotional response doesn't seem very Michigan-like, or very civilized for that matter.
I'd like to see him suspended from the football team, hundreds of hours of community service, maintain a 3.0 or above average, substance testing and the possibility of many other punishments. If he isn't able to do this, then expel him.
It's in the University's own best interest to try rehabilitation first. The last thing I want to see 2, 5 or 10 years down the road is "former Michigan player involved in *insert crime here*".

Really great to read this. I was kind of shocked to read the responses before your comment, it was beginning to look like a lynch mob in here.

I have a feeling that sometime in the future Michigan will get another one of those recruits in the sport. You heard it here first. You're welcome, and I'll take one postitive bang, please.

In recent years it's been fun because Michigan has needed wins in the Big Ten tournament and usually got them. This year is obviously unique and I'd honestly rather sit the tourny out and prep for the real one.

Why do you care what Wisc and MSU fans try to argue when we went 3-1 against them and have a Big Ten Championship banner?

^This guy. I would party with this guy. Isn't that what the game day experience is supposed to be about? It shouldn't feel like elementary school when you're lining up at recess, it's supposed to be fun.

We're 19-2 over the last 3 years at home. Stop yelling HURR DURR WIN GAMEZ ITZ DAT SIMPLE. It's not. The Michigan football gameday is significantly different and not in a good way.

Agree with all of your points. Maybe they're staying in 2 deep coverage because they're worried about the safeties more than any other part of the D and just want to get them as much experience as possible in coverage. Wishful thinking maybe, but plausible. We haven't had to complain about Wilson yet so that's obviously a a huge positive. If Mattison's approach to D is that "you're only as strong as your weakest man" then I would expect to see him start to challenge the safeties abilities in the next few games.

There sure are a lot of emotions in this thread. Jinxed them with with our predictions? Bo never would have let this happen? Inexcusable?
Let's have some perspective here people: Even professionals f up sometimes and this is a non-pro game. We won said non-pro game. We won it after the most hyped regular season college football game of all time.
Seriously what would you have done if they lost? FIRE HOKE? Bench Gardner? It's a game and the unpredictability is what makes it fun. This will be a fantastic learning opportunity for this team and by the end of the season it'll probably be all but forgotten by the fans.

It's the RB's job to find the hole. WR crackback blocks are generally rare, but when they happen it's almost always a called play and everyone on the field expects to see it on the highlight film the next day. It shouldn't have been a surprise to Fitz that this was coming. Fitz looked rusty but not bad. The one thing that I will give him is that the block came a little late. Freshman WR, man.

This was one of the first things that came up after Googling. Looks helpful but I haven't tried it so use at your own risk. I think the delay is around 5-7 seconds and I only know this because my dad shares/shared the same attitude as you towards tv commentators and this is how I grew up watching Michigan football (when we weren't at the stadium of course). Hope it works out.

Unforunately it's not just in bowl games. Relative to the other power conferences the big ten just isn't as good right now. That is a fact, not how i want it to be.

Exactly, pretty sure the amazing game on at primetime had something to do with the extra attention. Michigan didn't get to be what it is today by selling shitty products and "creating buzz".

Mike Hart? Maybe. I'd say Chris Howard. Smith: 5'11" 224 Howard 5'10" 223 power runners with a great stiff arm and (so far for Smith I guess) kind of get lost in the shuffle.

If you haven't tried an auction draft I highly recommend it. Strategically there are so many more ways to approach it. And if I'm reading your post correctly it sounds like you all draft together in person which makes any draft exponentially more fun but auctions get nuts...Well now I have to go do a mock

I think we can all agree on the current quality of Iowa's football team. I wasn't comparing the two, I was comparing their schedules.
As a Michigan fan and a Big Ten supporter it worries me that they have such an easy schedule.
Also, it's interesting to me to see the teams I love to hate (OSU, Wisc) getting cream-puff crossover games.

Iowa's 2 toughest games are at home though. Plus they get Northwestern at home and Indiana instead of @ Rutgers. I'd rather steamroll everyone and save my hard games for last.

Which schedule is easier? Iowa's or Wisconsin's? I gotta go with Iowa and they get the bonus of having 2(!) whole big conference games at home.
