"The face of the operation is Briatore (referred to exclusively in the film by his colleagues and angry, chanting detractors as "Flavio"), an anthropomorphic radish who spends most of his time at QPR plotting to fire all of the managers."

|1 day 7 hours ago||problem I see||
is that the SEC will still not be punished for playing them like they should be. Believe me they'll still play their Fuman's and Stephen F Austin's becasue the SEC is so HARRRRRDDDD.
The BIG is putting itself in a tougher situation relative to college football's best conference.
|1 day 8 hours ago||So this reduces||
the infrequency of playing Wisconsin to 6 years?
|1 day 8 hours ago||sort of||
I think they've set this more in stone vs agreeing to do it last Winter.

Memorial Stadium before the refurbishing. Basically Spartan Stadium with war memorials. Wind blown prarie straight from the pig and cow farms. Students are (or were) miserable yuppies with no concept of good football at all. Every person I met was a complete dick from the minute I set foot in that town. Even then they thought Michigan was the biggest rivalry. I just wanted to die there.

to see it a few years ago and was very disappointed in many things about it. Just didn't meet my expectations. However I still would love to have seen an old Iron Bowl game there in the 80's or 90's.

He doesn't talk to the baseball, he's not Fidrych.

is the Jays top prospect, a top 25 guy and 4th best LHP prospect in baseball. Alford is currently at Class A Lansing but wowing the crowds there. A few years away but clearly a very talented player. Boyd is at AAA Buffalo, probably a year or two away.
Norris is the prize.

have been absolutely woeful against teams outside their division. They spend almost all of August playing the Royals and other contenders. This team will be 15+ back by September easily even if they kept Price and Cespedes.
Not moving them now means they would have the same core and absolutely zero prospects in the minors. The big issue here is how decimated the Tigers farm system is. I haven't looked recently but AAA, AA and high A were all in last place not that long ago.
Not moving players of value now would set the Tigers back for years. Getting younger prospects with their core intact would give a chance at competeing while their core group is still pretty good.

contract actually declines with a club option at the end. Its not a bad deal at all.
|5 days 4 hours ago||Here's a little more||
Dantonio stopped recruiting a Lansing kid who was arrested along with three other people in a felony traffic stop where a gun was found in the vehicle. (I actually think the kid was committed to MSU)
The only difference here is the high school kid wasn't at MSU yet and MSU's RB depth chart was a lot better 2 years ago.

a car to pick up Glenn Winston from jail to get him back in practice. This should not surprise anyone.

the first thought in how to solve this situation was to post inquiries on a message board rather than contact the U of M ticket office first.

still some bad blood between Houston/SMU and the other formoer SWC schools for not including them in their jump to combine with the old Big 8
|6 days 5 hours ago||The WAC||
went to 16 teams and specifically broke apart because 16 teams was ridiculous for scheduling.
|6 days 5 hours ago||There are more||
than a few problems here, but addressing Tulane. Tulane has kicked around the idea of dropping scholarship athletics altogether and following the D3 model. Joining a big conference with Texas and Oklahoma seems pretty far-fetched at this point.

Oklahoma City and the Dallas metroplex (ou fans) is a nice addition to the Big Ten family. That's a lot of TV sets.
|6 days 5 hours ago||Johnson||
only pitched 4 games for Montreal in 1988 and 7 in 1989 before being traded to Seattle. He never faced Kruk while Kruk was in San Diego. Kruk was traded to Philadelphia after Johnson had been traded to Seattle. Their paths never crossed until that all-star game.
Not impossible they matched up in the minors.
|6 days 13 hours ago||Randy Johnson||
was probably the most intimidating pitcher of his era. His confrontation with John Kruk in the All-Star game was one of the best baseball moments in the last 20 years.
This was before the interleague era, so it was the first time Kruk ever saw Johnson.

that era of Braves and not mention Dave Justice.

I've learned about sports. All sports have their boring moments, boring games, when it can't capture your attention.
All sports also have their moments you can't take your eyes off. To each his own.

about the metro Detroit part, he graduated from Lansing Waverly HS and has little league fields named after him. Pretty sure he spent his childhood in Lansing.

I've ever denied what the Bo and Woody era was about.
|1 week 2 days ago||Its really||
disturbing how many of Michigan's guys have ended up transferring to FCS and D2 level programs and simply become just another guy.
|1 week 2 days ago||I think Texas||
has always had an inflated opinion of itself. They dominated the old Southwestern Conference because who was their competition. Arkansas, TAM, TT, TCU, SMU, Rice, Houston, Baylor. What would they get out of that, 1 top 20 matchup per year?
When they combined with the Big 8 and had to compete with Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Colorado(at the tail end of the McCartny and Barnett years), Nebraska and Bill Snyder's KSU they simply were just another good program in a much tougher conference, and that still holds true.
