That playoff run, and his performance in it, was one for the ages. I too tell my kids about the greatness of Stevie Y. He should have won the Conn Smythe that year (nothing against Lidstrom).
|10 hours 9 min ago||Stevie Y is the greatest||
I wear #19 on my over the hill beer league hockey team because of Stevie Y. And, I know I'm not alone. It is so cool pulling on that 19 jersey and emulating the greatest captain in NHL history (IMHO).
And, both my girls wear #19 on their respective sports teams because of Stevie Y too. I teach them about his leadership and work ethic all the time. They were too young to watch him play live, but they know his greatness through my stories.
Welcome back Steve, even if its just for one game. Detroit loves you.

I am so on board with firing Borges. He calls plays like he is coaching a pee wee team and he only has four plays they have learned so far. No creativity. No sense of awareness to down or distance. No coaching of the QB. We need a new OC and QB coach.
My question is who is available? Any bright young assistants out there that we can lure away? Scot Loeffler is OC at VTech. Bring him back? He could do double duty.

Mix that Buffalo Trace with some lime juice and ginger beer for a delightfully refreshing Kentucky Mule. I add a little aperol or apple cider to it too.

I already miss this team so much. How many days until next BBall season?

And now the morning after. I hardly slept. Woke up thinking about the game and how close we were. As a loyal Michigan alum and fan, I sometimes regret my undying loyalty. Finishing second feels worse than winning would have felt good. Now I get to sit in a stupid airport lounge for hours hoping to make standby so I can go home and finish this miserable trip as fast as possible. Somehow, I know how that will turn out.

Primesport.com is the official ticket exchange of NCAA. They are expensive tickets, but at least they should be legit. Stubhub.com is the only other legit option I can think of, but you have to pick up the tickets rather than paperless.

I enjoyed reading this. Very proud of Coach B and this team.

I got an amazing, framed panoramic print of the UTL victory over ND. The picture is taken at the moment Roundtree caught the ball in the endzone. The sea of maize looks amazing standing up in unison. Will post a picture when I get back home from my Christmas trip.

Exactly where do you login through MGoBlue to check priority points? Thanks in advance.

I have seen no evidence that Borges deserves our faith. This offense continues to regress, and I am not even referring to the Bellomy fiasco. Your reference to reverse RichRod is accurate in my opinion.

2 Walter Smith - Download the iheartradio app to your phone and look for WOOD radio station from Grand Rapids. In years past, I've been able to listen to Michigan games here. Good Luck.

You don't want to stay in Addison if you're wanting to go out at night unless its to a chain restaurant. You also don't want to STAY in Deep Ellum - visit yes, but not STAY. I suggest uptown to stay and play. Coal Vines is good brick oven pizza; Javier's is Mexico City Mexican fare (not Mexican Fiesta, though I love and miss it too); Nick & Sam's or Al Biernet's are good steakhouses in uptown area; and you should try one of the restaurants in the Bishop Art's district (Bolsa, Hattie's etc.) in Oak Cliff for a different vibe.

I suggest Sammy's BBQ in downtown Dallas (there is also one in University Park). Get a two meat plate with the heart-stopper potatoes and cole-slaw. The onion rings are also very good sopped in BBQ sauce.

Watching Novak play just brings a smile to my face. Can you ask for a better representative of Michigan athletics than that kid who brings so much heart and determination to the floor ALL THE TIME!! Love it.

As freshman, Ricky and I lived on the same floor of South Quad. He was always approachable and even hung out with us in our room. I remember he would kill my roommate in Techmo Bowl. I remember talking to him a few days before the NFL draft. He was so excited. Anyways, I always wondered how he was doing. It's great to hear what a great Michigan alum he has become and how he is giving back to the youth of his community. I'm proud of you, Ricky!
|2 years 5 days ago||UM club of Dallas||
Hi Dallas Wolverine - Is the UM Club of Dallas going to reach out to local alumni (e.g., via the website) to solicit requests for game tickets? I recall hearing this at one of the happy hours this fall, but have not heard anything since. I'd love to get a block of tickets with fellow Dallas / UM alumni. I have lots of friends and family coming to Dallas for the game, so would love to hear about any effort by the alumni club to secure a large block of tickets from either the University or the Cowboys.

Is about $345 roundtrip, leaving on 3rd and returning on 4th.
|2 years 11 weeks ago||I think Borges is not doing Denard any favors.||
Yes, he is struggling because he is being asked to do things that he's not good at, such as deep throws.
I would call bubble screens, RB screens, slants, hitches, crossing patterns with Gallon and Grady, play-action fake dive seam passes to Dileo and Roundtree, first down throws -- anything within 10-15 yards, PLEASE. Last I heard, the West Coast offense was filled with these types of plays which then allowed the the receivers to get Yards After Catch. I didn't know the WCO was really one deep bomb after another.
My ability to second guess offensive playcalling is quite profound.
|2 years 12 weeks ago||slow starts, then adjustments||
Seems both the offense and defense get off to slow starts and then make adjustments along the way. I'm fairly pleased with how the D has played thus far this year. If anything, the O has put us in tough spots early on. Its back to bend, don't break until Mattison gets his guys. But, that is much better than what we've seen over the last three years when D was an afterthought.
Jake Ryan looks to have something. I like his size and nose for the football.
Nice to see Raymon Taylor getting some time (but not wearing the Desmond patch). Did Avery play at all.
BWC had some nice plays.
Roh had a sack and a few other tackles around the LOS.
Kovacs is to the point where his smarts and awareness really do mask whatever lack of athleticism he has. He is always around the football.
Gordon did a nice job on the INT. Way to recover after last week's blown cover assignment on the RIddick TD with 30 seconds left.

The editing of the video to coincide with the call was very well done sir.
|2 years 13 weeks ago||Statues in the Big House||
I would be totally on board with 4 statues at the Big House. They could be put at each of the four corners of the stadium. Those would be: 1) Bo; 2) Tom Harmon; 3) Charles Woodson; and 4) Desmond Howard. Our three Heisman winners in action poses and Bo looking stoic with his sunglasses on. Statues are cool as long as the people are deserving and they are well done.
|2 years 14 weeks ago||Awesome||
I started to get goose bumps with anticipation for Saturday night. Some more audio of the play calls would be great. The Musberger play call on the Desmond TD was vintage. I was at that game as a student. One of my fondest UM football memories. Thanks.
|2 years 39 weeks ago||That "food court" line made me laugh out loud.||
Thank you sir.
|2 years 39 weeks ago||What great memories...||
That was so bittersweet to watch. I remember all of those key games based on where I was and who I was watching with. I was a sophomore at UM when the Fab 5 came to town and it was an amazing 2 year roller coaster ride. They brought us so many range of emotions and reliving them tonight was eerie. Like it was yesterday. I'm so pumped for next Friday, its not even funny. Go Blue!
|3 years 2 weeks ago||My two cents||
I don't like to hear the argument that all we need is to pair a mediocre defense with our explosive offense. We need an above-average defense, in my view, to win a NC. Offenses can sputter from time to time, and I don't think we are immune to that. If we want to go 12-0 and win a NC, we need a Defense that can cover a sputtering offense from time to time. That is the difference between 9-3 or 10-2 and 12-0.
Having said that, I'll take a mediocre defensive performance this Saturday.
Go BLue !
|3 years 4 weeks ago||Was thinking that all day today||
He needs to run when guys are covered rather than forcing it deep. He could easily scramble or even run designed QB draws off of pass looks and get more yards than the designed runs. And, it would open up the pass more because the DBs need to be aware of the scrambling.

|3 years 5 weeks ago||The players||
For me, its about the players and the team. I want them to win because they represent our University with integrity and hard effort. The coaches are trying their best too. Barwis was actually wiping a tear and then went to hug Fred Jackson after the 2pt conversion stop to win the game.
