I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't think the Ross play was magical. This is nothing more than knowing your opponent and making a read. Young RG probably has an obvious tell prior to pulling.

5 weeks 6 days ago DSLR

I held a dslr with removable lens in plain site as i was walking in. Wore it around my neck the whole time. Nobody said anything. Didnt even know the rule exists.

6 weeks 1 day ago 2 Games

If you're talking about Saturday night, then you'll be required to buy a single ticket that covers both games.  So consider face value of $120 ... not $60.  You can't split it up.

6 weeks 1 day ago this dude

delivers pizzas too.  from my (trusted) source.

6 weeks 1 day ago Face Value

I know face value for my seats on Saturday night is $120 ($60 * 2 games).  I have some of the worst upper bowl seats in the dome though, and I know that better seats have a higher face value.

Likewise, face value for Monday is $60.

Tickets acquired through NCAA lottery.

6 weeks 4 days ago Yes

Now that I think of it, when I logged in, there was an option for selling tickets that I did not explore.  So maybe there is a safe way to exchange money built into Flash Seats.  Like  I said, my friend just sent me the tickets via that site and we are settling up later.... so maybe he had to indicate the sale price was $0 or something on his end.  He initiated the transfer.  You will have to create an account and register that account with a credit card, then that credit card is used to pick up tickets at the venue.

6 weeks 4 days ago Yep

Flash Seats is how I got mine.  Very legit.  There's a way you can send your tickets to others via email.  Not a great way for money to change hands though.  I am paying my friend via check, not via flash seats.  Flash seats seems to be a ticket management tool after the tickets are paid for.

Respecting your fellow conference members, especially those that beat you, is the classy thing to do.

8 weeks 3 days ago If mgoblog was a retailer and

If mgoblog was a retailer and the front page posts were its products, would this "product" be pulled from the shelves for not complying with the blog's core values / best practices.  There is no humor or wit in the post.  There is no deep statistical examination of data (the extant bullet points are misleading and don't tell the whole story).  There is no brilliant prose capturing the visceral effects of a game we all watched.

This rant is of the same "quality" you can get at other blogs. This blog is better than other blogs.  Come on Brian, stick to your bread and butter!

Side Note:  Some people out there make a ton of money.  Some even dictate their own salaries.  That's just how it is.

Side Note 2:  Lifetime economic benefits associated with a university education are undeniable (for everyone, not just athletes).  One could argue that athletes have an additional leg up in the job market because an employer can reasonably assume candidates that are former college athletes are coachable and goal-oriented, work well in teams, and have the ability to commit to a cause.

26 weeks 15 hours ago stubhub ticket crusade

Sure, save some coin by buying all your season tickets on stubhub.  Here's what you get if you step up and get your season tickets the old fashioned way:

  • 100% of your money going to Michigan, instead of nonzero % going to StubHub
  • Face value ticket cost for things like the Cowboy Classic
  • Face value ticket cost for bowl games
  • Peace of mind that you have your tickets, and that you won't need to be spending tons of time on StubHub
  • Priority over general public to buy additional single game home tickets, away game tickets, B1G championship tickets
  • Priority over general public to buy basketball season tickets when they do things like re-seat the entire arena (regrettable example, but you get the point)
  • Accruing loyalty points, which can help improve your season ticket location over time, or get you parking passes if thats what you're in to
26 weeks 17 hours ago Show up on time for Senior Day!

Devin Gardner wants (NEEDS!) you there on time on Saturday!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSFRZL7BNLI&feature=youtu.be

Also, give credit to the students for 100% attendance in the two basketball games that were televised this week.  The non-student sections were, I don't know, 33% full?  That's how it looked on TV.

26 weeks 4 days ago game theory disagree

Fitz should be able to keep 75% of his big points earned from the 4th down, instead of giving half of them back on the punt.  Rugby punt is still the incorrect choice, but saving the timeout is not the incorrect choice.

Taking the delay of game penalty backs NU out to the Mich 49 yardline.  The NU long punt of the day was 53 yards and they already pinned Mich inside the 10 twice.   Moving the ball back to the 49 from the 44 is OK if it means you save your last timeout.  You've already blown several leads in B1G play this year, and you want that last timeout in case Michigan surprises you with a trick formation during the last 0:18.

I also think it was wise to NOT USE the timeout to ice the field goal kicker after the roundtree catch, because Michigan just had to scurry the length of the field to set up the 1st down spike and 2nd down FG.  Icing the kicker just gives M a chance to catch their breath.  (See 12-10 victory over MSU where The Threat has to be the FG holder moments after getting blasted, but Dantonio's timeout allows him to recover).  Fitz also possibly knew that Gibbons can't be iced

27 weeks 4 days ago Minnesota double frustration clap

28 weeks 2 days ago ND

The ND game I went to was the Sam McGuffie rain storm RichRod loss of 2008.  The rain cut my postgame experience short, but pregame the ND fans were mostly friendly with a few people yelling BOO as you walk by.  The thing that ND doesn't have is a city like Lincoln or Ann Arbor next to the campus with all kinds of food/drink/entertainment available.

28 weeks 2 days ago Agreed on your last comment

Ironically, there were about ~30-40 Michigan students in my section staying enthusiastic the whole time and doing all the chants as if it were Michigan Stadium... and after Bellomy's third INT one of the Nebraska fans said "Aren't you guys happy we don't have a You Suck chant?"
