Jesus man, go do something productive with your time.

The book you are working from was meant for the babies in your avatar - all visuals, no thought.
|2 days 9 hours ago||I agree with all that you||
I agree with all that you predict except that last clause. Word is that Mattison was likely out at Baltimore anyway, and our defense has only been good in the shadow of an awful offense. A defense ranked in the teens should be nothing to get excited about at Michigan - unless you accept lowering our standards.

"Let's remember the refs didn't even see the hit."
Have you ever watched a football game in which a coach didn't argue that he saw something the refs didnt? This means nothing.

This one attitude I dont get around here. A guy, a well-respected former player, gives his assessment on what he saw in PRACTICE. Unless you have also seen practices in person, what gives you the validity to say that you are noty buying what he says he saw in practice?
|3 days 17 hours ago||Yhe big difference is Bo was||
The big difference is Bo was the head coach trying to light a spark (i.e., change the culture), while Desmond is a highly respected former player. One is not like the other. The probability of Hoke changing the culture of the program at this point is very small.

Great anecdote - if this were the beginning of the season. It's not. Yeah, it's the beginning of the big ten season, but as such it asks for a very different story. This season asks for a turnournd story, and the one you cited aint that. That 97 team was boss from the get go.

I agree. I'm usually not one to criticize grammar, but that was deplorable. Embarassing.

You create a false dichotomy. At this level, being a great athlete cannot be separated from decision-making. I too sersioulsy quesiton the assumption that Gardner is a great athlete-in waiting. Many people have physical traits and abilities, but those are just part of what makes a great athlete - esepcially the farther you get beyond high school.

Get off your pompous high horse and give us a break. I understand this logic if this were Hoke's first season. It's not.
|3 weeks 1 day ago||You dont call someone's||
You dont call someone's 'fandom' into question. Its a nebulous concept, and it suggests simple-mindedness. Hoke should have said the behavior was inappropriate. That's concrete, clear. Hoke basically got into the game of name-calling as well.
|3 weeks 1 day ago||Agree. Hoke was right, but||
Agree. Hoke was right, but worded it (and thought about it) poorly. If he had said something like, "Fans tweeting things to players are out of line," then it would be fine. But calling some fans "true fans" and other "not true fans" just feels like a playground, name-calling, immature come-back.

|3 weeks 2 days ago||Yeah, I thought this showed||
Yeah, I thought this showed some real lack of intelligence. He clearly does not understand what the word means. How can he say the team is resilient now? This team's resilience after this loss can only be judged several games down the road. To say it now is just to toss out some BS buzz words, as you said.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||I'm talking about the flow of||
I'm talking about the flow of information. Pressers are Q&A sessions to transmit information to the fans through the press. Perhaps "proxy" wasnt the right word - they are conduits.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||Um, there are many, many||
Um, there are many, many other coaches out there who are both informative and do not give out too much information. It's not all or nothing. There is a middle range. Hoke is way out there in outlier land.

Fair enough, I was probably imposing too much of my own frustrated interpretation on what happened on that play.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||My heart loves Michigan. I||
My heart loves Michigan. I got a master's and a phd from the university. But my head is really starting to make me question, from a rational perspective, if I should stop supporting it's football team. This is a public university. For Hoke to come out and basically treat the press, and by proxy it's fans, like animals begging at his hand, is reprehensible. He just toys with the press, and the fanbase. I'm tired of Hoke treating the fanbase like shit.

They didnt react, they didtn come to his defense. They didnt care anymore. Or, perhaps they didnt care (encough?) from the start. It suggests some lack of connectivity between Gardner and others.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||The turnovers obviated any||
The turnovers obviated any hope of a miraculous comeback. But it would have been quite miraculous - in other words, very unlikely. So yes, the turnovers mattered little.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||I seriously questioned Hoke's||
I seriously questioned Hoke's decision to keep Funk, and his approval of allowing a guy to coach the secondary who has no expereince doing so. This isnt the MAC or high school football. This is the big leagues. That was a dumb move. He just doesnt seem like a good manager. He's a likable guy, but not a manager.
Also, how the team reacted to Gardner getting hit at the end of the game speaks volumes. There are some serious issues on this team.
It is apparent Hoke has to go, and the new guy has to be a huge name in order to not allow the transition to take this program even lower. This program is in real danger right now.
|4 weeks 16 hours ago||So your logic applies to||
So your logic applies to Oregon - MSU, but not to UM - ND? I know we love to come up with conspiracy/rational actor theories, but if it holds for some, it should hold for all (in whch UM would be ranked, even at 25 or 24). Plus, I just dont see MSU ranked 8th playing an Oregon team ranked 4th being much different than what the rankings are this week. The simple answer is that MSU looked very good last week, and deserved to be bumped up over OSU and UCLA
Or you could be right, and an analysis of movements in rankings of two teams before they play one another would convince me otherwise (but who has the time). But right now the incongruence in the logic makes the theory unconvincing.

High production value, good choice of music, and seemingly a good balance of teams. But the editing could use some work - the rapid-fire move from one clip to the next in the first half got a bit maddening, and the repetitiveness of clips from the beginning at the end made it anti-climactic. Stretch out some of those clips at the beginning, and remove the ones from the beginning that you use at the end (e.g., Desmond's catch, other goalline catches), where they seem to belong, and the video would be immensely improved.
|4 weeks 2 days ago||"They were accurate, but were||
"They were accurate, but were lobbed. Would those three passes be completed against a team with better coverage?"
Why do you assume DG is not adapting his passes to a) his receiver, and b) the coverage? In other words, why do you assume what you saw in yesterday's game will be what you see in every game? You take what the defense gives you, and that "you" includes your receivers.

Does this mean he takes up a scholarship at OU? Also, can he still work on the scout team? If so, perhaps having his skillset on the scout team is worth a scholarship to Stoops. I dont know enough about these things, but I can see how having a very talented, tough cover on your scout team can only help your defense.
|5 weeks 6 days ago||This is really, really||
This is really, really reaching. It smacks of an inferiority complex. He left out an "n" in his name? Guess what, even though Meyer coaches OSU, he is human. Pick more worthwhile things to make fun of Meyer about.

9 are headed to Alabama. 6 + 9 = 15, 15 = ~25% of 62. A quarter of the kids already committed are going to either Alabama or Clemson.
|6 weeks 1 day ago||Yeah, I dont know. I am not||
Yeah, I dont know. I am not sure its so much about scholarship #s but more about exposure, primariy national TV coverage, perhaps secondarily internet coverage on sites such as ESPN. The more popular programs get more coverage, and the more those teams win, the more coverage they get. And then the more popular they become wth recruits. Its a vicious cycle, and I have no idea how to fix that.
