I didn't mean to imply you were callous or uncaring. You didn't joke about it; you approached it in a serious manner, and a reasonable argument could be made that the Matt James situation fit with the topic at hand. But given the fact that he died before stepping foot on ND's campus, and before Brian Kelly coached a game, it seemed superfluous. My role is to keep the peace, and references to Matt James and Declan Sullivan rarely start well and often end in either (a) inappropriate comments or (b) uncivil debates. We often can't have nice things, despite the best intentions of reasonable people like yourself. My condolences on your loss. |
