what is this yellow color you're referring to? i thought we wore maize...
on a larger note, i wouldnt be totally adverse to some traditions being interrupted for a game here and a game there. Blue pants @ illinois? i could dig it...
|6 years 43 weeks ago||ESD or GDC?||
i grew up in SD and love the hitchcock-tulare reference
Every coach in the Country is jumping through hoops to make contacts in aberdeen, pierre, watertown,huron, spearfish, faulkton, madison, canton, garretson, eureka, bowdle...theres too much talent all over the state to list all the power houses
|6 years 44 weeks ago||alright..||
we arent talking about the inaguration in a vacuum here...
the change i'm talking about is not in a link or in a newspaper...i'm talking about interactions among people. thats just something you have to experience. from my own eyes, i think people are experiencing it already.
i say it changes things, you say it doesnt. like i said, history will be the judge
i'll let you have the last word on it.
|6 years 44 weeks ago||your post||
is exhibit A of the cynicism i meant.
never did i say we were healed from this one election nor did i make a declarative statement about human nature. but to say that NOTHING has changed from one of the most historic events is to essentially call it unimportant. Which in my opinion is pretty short sighted. only history can judge...
on a side note, its easy to make assumptions about another poster's race, location, and life experiences online but Its probably not a good idea. Things like that are a major reason i never post on here.

i have no comment on the appropriateness of the thread in this forum. However those who think this event hasn't changed anything couldn't be more wrong.

I know Stonum is a Frosh and may well be very good at some point in his career at michigan. i hope he is anyway. but lets hold off on the braylon edwards comparisons just yet. nothing against stonum either, the bar is just really high

people can point to fake punts, hook and ladders, etc as signs of bad game day coaching. however, there is only so much the coaches can coach at a time.

hey Go Blue in the Lou...are you from saint louis? or louisville? or some other town that uses the term "lou". I only ask b/c i dont run into many Michigan fans down here in St. Louis.
|7 years 3 weeks ago||not your entire post||
i was just speaking to the part about you not watching and being glad. its just the kind of 'this sucks, that sucks, fire him' pessimism that rankles me. anyway, fwiw the rest of it is fine opinion and fits. I should have been more clear.
|7 years 3 weeks ago||keep it||
"I won't be posting anymore this season"
I don't post here often, but i do read the posts. I just think if you didn't watch the game, you probably shouldn't post a diary about it.
|7 years 4 weeks ago||lets not get too worked up||
lets not get too worked up over shafer just yet. I dont like the 3 man rush on 3rd and long. I dont like the safeties taking poor angles or missing tackles when they do take decent angles. I dont like the inability of any of our DB's to contest a jump ball situation. HOWEVER, 1. i remember seeing these same mistakes under an English coached D. and 2. i do like the way our D plays with their backs against the wall. I think we forget how often our opponents start on the wrong side of the 50 or close to it and come away w/ nothing or a field goal attempt. 3. i do like when the D wins us the game against Wisconsin. it was a long time ago but i'm sure you remember. In other words, I'm not ready to start shafer's house on fire just yet...patience is a virtue. we'll all be very virtuous by the end of the year i think.
|7 years 4 weeks ago||dont like bourban, but i like||
dont like bourban, but i like this entry. too many people treat the current season like its in a vacuum. like being a michigan fan is a week to week or year to year basis. please. yes, its painful every saturday. but as they say, this too shall pass. in fact, thats kind of what Bo's books remind me. Michigan football is over 100 yrs old, there have been years like this in the past. they passed, so will this one. We may not win another game this year...but in no way does this one bad year signify the end of Michigan football because its bigger than than just this year and its certainly bigger than you or i being "fucking pissed" or whatever other garbage some of you are tempted to type in your stoli induced rage. thanks drexel, you're post was excellent.
