I don't know if JJ will be…

I don't know if JJ will be an all time great, an all pro or just another journeyman QB. What I do know is he has athletic ability, can throw the ball on a dime and he has one of the highest football IQ's I've laid eyes on. At the end of the day, he will lay it all on the line to win and will do whatever it takes to do so, even hand the ball of 30+ times straight. Thats a guy I want on my team.

2021 OSU followed by 2023…

2021 OSU followed by 2023 Alabama and 2022 OSU.

It all depends on the talent…

It all depends on the talent in the draft class and the needs of the top 5. I do think JJ may be a top 5 QB, not just because he has the ability but because of his football IQ and leadership. Those qualities to me make him a top 5 guy.

That is the truth, people in…

That is the truth, people in South Carolina for sure hate Kim Mulkey. I believe most of the SEC does as well.

Can’t argue with your logic…

Can’t argue with your logic or points. Boiler up!

But in football I’ll never root for another B1G team that was in the league in 2023.

UConn getting into the…

UConn getting into the championship alone won it for me, so at this point I have no rooting interest.

Mr Brightside being played…

Mr Brightside being played while Bama is doing their shoot around. Getting in their heads. :D

It's great to be a Michigan…

It's great to be a Michigan Wolverine!

The thing many miss with…

The thing many miss with Bakich is that he was never going to stay here for life. B1G is a mid level league in baseball, the SEC and ACC are the powerhouses. Clemson is one of the better but not best teams in the ACC. When I lived up north, I never ever heard anyone talk about college baseball other than in passing or because a team was in the playoffs. Down here in the south college baseball is 2nd only to football and women's basketball is somewhere in the mix.

Bakich came to the place where he got his start in coaching in the same region he played collegiately. It would be equated to would someone go to coach Michigan in football or would they stay at Boise State. If they are serious about being the best they will pick the better school. If they are content with location, job security, culture and pay they may stay but the fact is Michigan is not going to put a ton of resources into baseball when football, basketball and hockey are all higher priority.

Juwan has always been one of…

Juwan has always been one of my favorite basketball players at Michigan. I loved the Fab Five and still do. He has always seemed to be a man of integrity and class, despite his occasional lapses of anger. The fact is though, that for whatever reason he seemed to be in over his head here and sadly things just didn't work out. Doesn't change the fact that he will always be a Michigan Man worthy of the title.

The more I learn about May…

The more I learn about May the more excited I get about this hire. Just hoping he is able to put together some kind of roster that can work. I also have been critical of Warde and have to say that he surprised me with this one. Not that he hired May but in the speed with which he did it, that tells me had had done his homework and had his ducks lined up.

I would have preferred…

I would have preferred Devries, but I can certainly get behind this hire come what May. Willing to see what he can do with the program.

I'm still in on Devries and…

I'm still in on Devries and May at least. Just having a coach that can get us respectable again and into the tournament would be a step up from where we are.

I lost my interest in doing…

I lost my interest in doing so years ago when I found fans of other B1G teams, primarily MSU and OSU who would hate on UM when playing in post-season games even against SEC teams. I may occasionally cheer on a B1G team but I do not do so out of care about the conference any longer, even more so since signgate.

I would have all these on my…

I would have all these on my list!

Antietam

Vicksburg

Manassas

Chattanooga

Charleston

The Wilderness

I would agree, of those…

I would agree, of those coaches mentioned thus far I think Devries has become the leading candidate that I would prefer. We need someone that can turn around a program that has been cratered.

My top likes from the list…

My top likes from the list are Medved, Mays and Devries. I was intrigued by Nedved after Brian's article but after seeing what his team did against Virginia I'm sold on what he is doing. Mays and Devries while having less than desired tenures also have a high ceiling. I think with the basketball program swing for the fences and see what happens, sometimes you might get a Juwan, sometimes you might get a Beilein. I would be thrilled with any of these 3 guys for sure.

I would agree on Cronin…

I would agree on Cronin. Lived in Cincy area while he was there and just was never impressed with him. I wouldn’t hate it if he was hired but he wouldn’t be my first choice.

So you would rather have a…

So you would rather have a team that wallows in mediocrity in a good year? But most years stews in the slime pits of the underarms of the B1G cellar? That’s where this program is currently and its ceiling with JH is likely 15-17 wins with a stacked team.

It certainly does! Juwan…

It certainly does! Juwan convinced me of it!

Old enough to remember the…

Old enough to remember the 2013 game? LOL! I'm old enough to remember the 1989 championship. Now that was a team! And yet the Fab Five gets all the accolades (and yes, I loved the Fab Five).

I agree, I live in the south…

I agree, I live in the south and its something you hear all the time. I also took it that it may have been the players attitudes or actions in the locker room after the game. I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

Everything is the only…

Everything is the only correct answer. The starters right now should be guys coming off the bench.

I agree with your thoughts,…

I agree with your thoughts, a guy who has been named the head of the CFP is not going to get fired by his university. There are many reasons he should, but he has too much support and he's not going anywhere soon.

Now what he does with Howard is an open question. Right now I'd call it a flip of the coin if it happens. In about 2 weeks hopefully we will have an answer. If he retains Howard though he doesn't have to answer any questions about it since Howard is still under contract. More than likely we will know only by 1) its announced Howard and Michigan have parted ways, or 2) we hear 1 or more assistants have been fired which tells us Howard is staying on condition of hiring new staff.

I do hope that many of those that Warde trusts or listens too have conveyed that Howard needs to go. If not this program will be literally at the bottom of the crater in a years time.

If you're feeling like watching Juwan's presser, click on the link. In summary, he says with a week off before the next game they can work on basics, passing lanes, defense, etc.

My 0.02, shouldn't this have been done somewhere around 30 games ago? This upcoming game is their last and best chance to win in the past few weeks. Nebraska is not as good on the road, but will it matter? All it takes is to get a couple of turnovers and get in their heads again. At this point I just can't wait for this miserable season to be concluded and then Warde do whatever he wants to do.

He said that some time ago…

He said that some time ago that he evaluates each sport after the season and I actually am glad that he does that, sometimes you don't want to be hasty. But my fear is he will allow mitigating circumstances to sway his judgement and with the promise of hiring new staff, Juwan will be back for another year. I just don't see any way to fix this leaking ship and I am certain that many players will either declare for the draft or hit the portal. In a sense thats not a bad thing as bad as they are but you need continuity to build a team, and you need some bench. Some of these guys could be good players with proper development but that seems to be sorely lacking or at least there seems to be a lack of accountability and pride.

Glad to know I'm not the…

Glad to know I'm not the only one. I sprained my ankles countless times playing basketball over the years. One summer I sprained it 7 times because I wouldn't let it heal up. This was many years ago and my basketball days are long behind me, but to this day if I step just wrong I can feel them give but they don't sprain anymore. But now that I'm past the half century mark who knows how long that lasts.

Warde says, hold my beer.

Warde says, hold my beer.

Yep, the year they win less…

Yep, the year they win less than 5?

Looks like he has scored 22…

Looks like he has scored 22 points this season.

Interested in seeing the…

Interested in seeing the after game presser. How do you march out there and say it works? Nothing is working right now or has been most of the season.

We can only hope. In the…

We can only hope. In the back of my mind though I have this nightmare scenario of Warde giving Juwan a pass on this season because "it wasn't all his fault".

Can these announcers at…

Can these announcers at least give some insight into what teams are doing right or wrong? They speak in such generalities.

I just wish that he would…

I just wish that he would assure you that a coach who oversaw a disastrous season would and could be fired.

I know we say it all the…

I know we say it all the time but this team lacks fundamentals, makes dumb fouls and have no clue where the opponents are. This is clearly on coaching and it has gotten worse as the season progressed.

Maybe if Jace hit the…

Maybe if Jace hit the weights he is supposed to he might have been able to grab that rebound cleanly instead of bobbling it out of bounds.

Probably the wise decision.

Probably the wise decision.

Two possessions tell the…

Two possessions tell the tale of the tape. First they give it to Reed who dribbles with back to the basket dancing around and almost loses it, finally does some low percentage hook that misses and leads to OSU points. Reed also backpedals away from his shot.

Next possession Dug takes a 3 point shot at least 6-8 ft from the 3 point line that obviously misses, but at least he followed his shot. Also leads to OSU points.

After all we are a second…

After all we are a second half team. Am I right? /s

It is painful to watch. I…

It is painful to watch. I have no words for what his shot actually is other than some kind of scoop shot thing that misses more than it goes in.

I would agree with that. The…

I would agree with that. The criticism of Harbaugh at the time of 2020 was that he couldn't beat OSU or win bowl games, he may also not have had a great record on the road against ranked opponents. So when 2020 came and they only won 2 games it highlighted all that and upped the criticism. Howard's situation is nowhere near the same. There's no OSU that he's struggled to beat, he's struggled this year to beat anyone. The roster is a complete disaster, players aren't being developed and pushed to become better.

I agree that at the time of his hire, it seemed like a high upside hire. He was a sought after assistant coach, he was a Fab Five superstar, loved Michigan. He seemed like a risk worth taking. Now though, the risk did not turn out in Michigan's favor and its time to cut ties. He just wasn't ready for this high profile of a job. Even Harbaugh had several jobs before being considered for Michigan. Its past time, hopefully at the end of the season when Warde looks at the program he comes to the same conclusion and parts ways with Howard.

The lows of this season…

The lows of this season historically are that currently there are only 4 seasons that were worse by %. That’s the good news. The bad news is if they lose out it will be the 2nd worse season by win % in Michigan basketball history. Only the 1959-1960 team would be worse with their .167 percentage.

At this point I just don’t…

At this point I just don’t see how Warde could justify keeping Juwan at the end of the season. The team has gotten much worse, the team clearly has no concept of fundamental bball, the roster has been constructed by Howard who had no B plan if his top guys couldn’t get admitted and he doesn’t even play the young guys.

Wow, closed the half by…

Wow, closed the half by keeping Rutgers from scoring for 5 minutes. Only to close the gap to 15 down. There just aren't any words.

That is the epitome for how…

That is the epitome for how awful this team is, then they cut to Juwan who is merely glaring out at the floor. That is a really good time coach to lose your marbles and get your team fired up, something, anything. Work your way into a T or something to get your guys going. They are merely going through the motions just trying to get to the painful end of this season.

Easy enough answer. Warde.

Easy enough answer. Warde.

Unfortunately with Warde the…

Unfortunately with Warde the thought process is always, "now lets not be hasty..."

I'm just here for the jokes…

I'm just here for the jokes and laughs that this team and announcing crew can produce. If Juwan is such a good coach then why is the team so bad? There's just something fundamentally wrong.
