While I agree with some of your points, if you are trying to equate the two behaviors (flipping him vs withholding information) there is a huge difference. Trying to re-recruit a player (after a new coach is put in place) that seemed very clearly to favor Michigan hardly seems unethical. If you think so then you might want to check if Meyer recruits committed players. No one is criticizing Meyer for that.
|3 weeks 5 hours ago||That's not true. First, it's||
That's not true. First, it's not equitable that players are locked in and coaches are not, at least from a player's perspective. Second, the NCAA does make certain exceptions when coaches leave (obviously not enough) so your idea that a coach leaving should not matter is not suported.
We just got done saying about Harbaugh how much relationships matter to these kids when deciding on a school. You can't then turn around and say relationships and coaches do not matter. That's just not reality.
Again, Weber chose Meyer so he obviously made a poor decision if trust was a big issue but that does not make what OSU did okay.

No, they should be honest but I would not expect you to understand the difference between the two.
|3 weeks 10 hours ago||Surprised that he is still||
Surprised that he is still considering UCLA after that comes out. Even if the DC returns, he basically lied to Smith. Why would you still want to go there? Just seems odd.
|3 weeks 1 day ago||Remember that Steve said that||
Remember that Steve said that before Weber committed to OSU. It could have been in reference to Weber, we just don't know.
|3 weeks 1 day ago||Give it 15 minutes and they||
Give it 15 minutes and they will all change their minds. No use speculating since NO ONE has a good handle on this.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||If you take that approach||
If you take that approach then why should there be any restrictions on where and when players can transfer? Why should they sit out a year? Why can their current teams dictate a destination?
Seems to me if you subscribe to the notion that players can protect themselves then you should also agree that schools do not need protection and players should be able to transfer at any time, without any type of restriction. Correct?

I think those are all great points. But consider that some may have the view that Michigan has had some RB talent in the last 7 years and really could not find a complete back that could run effectively, block and move the chains. No difference makers and no guys that really very drafted high in the pros. Michigan has had some good guys (V Smith, etc.) but some criticism of the RB position post-Hart does seem warranted.

He probably was considered, the question is was he available?
|8 weeks 3 days ago||And just to be clear, that||
And just to be clear, that did not start with Jake Ryan, it was used with Jack Johnson before that (Michigan hockey player).
|9 weeks 2 days ago||Well, it's reported on the SI||
Well, it's reported on the SI website. I tend to take those reports a bit more seriously than random twitter stuff. Sure, it contains some hedge language but looks to be pretty solid.
|9 weeks 3 days ago||I get that but a bigger part||
I get that but a bigger part of me just wants a win however it happens. MSU losing Narduzzi makes that more likely.
|10 weeks 10 hours ago||So you are saying that||
So you are saying that Michigan is eliminated if he reclassifies? I don't have any idea why that would be the case but you obviously have a solid source for that so I hope he does not reclassify. Does that mean Battle would reclassify also?

Not Spartans or Buckeyes.
|10 weeks 1 day ago||At this point, I am not sure||
At this point, I am not sure even Harbaugh can live up to our expectations. It's like everyone assumes he will come, we will have the #1 ranked recruiting class, every starter will be a #1 pick and Michigan will win the national championship (Obvs). Michigan does have a few holes in its roster let's not forget.
But it it's not him, there is going to be a huge letdown.

Because Gruden is always at the center of every coaching search. Obvs.
|11 weeks 6 days ago||Yep, that sure is a "Scoop!"||
Yep, that sure is a "Scoop!" In summary, Michigan may or may not be waiting to talk with Harbaugh. If they wait on him and he doesn't choose UM, it may hurt Michigan's recruiting class. They may have asked to talk with Jones and Whittingham.
Where can I sign up for the Football Scoop newsletter?
|11 weeks 6 days ago||Totally agree, is there||
Totally agree, is there something about OSU's offense right now that we would not LOVE to have? OSU ran the ball right over our "Manball" defense in late November many years counting. Miss St. would do the same, probably much more effectively than MSU. I hope the new coach will be more open to this versus the "coaching search consultants."

Let's see, I wish we could point to a 6'5" or 6'6" Canadian player that has thrived at Michigan and gone on to become a lottery pick.....

But also with better facilities (and less of a DB for a coach).
|12 weeks 15 hours ago||Did you say above UM? I fail||
Did you say above UM? I fail to see why that is the case. I mean recruiting advantages and weather yes, but less tradition, alumi support, harder SEC path and facilities are nice but probably lag behind Michigan's. And it's not like FLA is coming off good seasons. Maybe that job is about on par with Michigan's but I wouldn't put it above ours.
|12 weeks 1 day ago||Exactly.||
|12 weeks 1 day ago||But not likely as JH's||
But not likely as JH's damages would be offset by his new salary. Assuming a "normal" buyout clause, the 49ers would owe nothing if Michigan hires him.
|12 weeks 1 day ago||I am not familiar with JH's||
I am not familiar with JH's contract but normally even if JH were fired, his compensation would be reduced (or in this case eliminated) to the extent that he gets another job and earns money. Assuming his Michigan comp would be greater than his 49ers contract, there would be no cost to the 49ers (again, assuming he has a standard type of buyout).
|12 weeks 1 day ago||I assume this is sarcasm?||
I assume this is sarcasm? There can be no tampering because Ross /= Michigan (despite his donor status). The NFL could not touch Ross for that unless there is some NFL ownership regulations of which I am not aware.
That's all crazy talk anyway. I could see the possibility that Michigan asks for permission (or is willing to pay for permission) to talk with Harbaugh. Everything else seems bizarre.
|12 weeks 2 days ago||The one problem I see is that||
The one problem I see is that the bigs probably have a limited ceiling this year and much of the improvement typically comes from the permeter players. That said, if the bigs can get to something approaching solid and useful then a very good year is likely.
|12 weeks 2 days ago||I think that's a bit harsh.||
I think that's a bit harsh. Michigan was very ready to beat Nova (a solid ranked team).
I think it more accurate to say Michigan is not ready to beat elite teams right now but can slug it out with ordinary ranked opponents and at times overwhelm unranked opponents.
