I actually want to see a defense that terrorizes the QB and outscores the ASU offense.

Not saying you are wrong but I do not like posts that speculate about 2015 transfers when the 2014 season has not started. Besides, I am not sure that the waiver denial makes a transfer more likely. If anything, it probably makes it less likely.

I am not blue either. Although a few days ago I was feeling a bit depressed.

I am interested in your observations/experiences. I am just hanging with my year-old LG G2 although I am very happy with it. But the One looks like a great phone.

Donovan Warren, depending on your level of expectation.

Great point. I think on the OL, it would be nice to have another but given the number of high quality guys you listed, Hoke should only take a highly-regarded OL and I am not sure we are in on that many right now (correct me if I am missing someone). Given that, I would rather pick up a Wheatley or KLS rather than a mediocre OL.

Not sure about Auburn but Mason Cole had offers from Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Stanford, and USC (among others) and that worked out nicely. But yes, your point about competing with USC and Bama is a good one.

Great job on these previews and recaps. I really enjoyed reading them especially since I watched a bit less of the Tour this year. Thank you.

Okay, Crazy. First, that would be a bold move to flip the "ace" of your staff to the pen (I say ace because whatever the stats, the Tigers have a long-term, huge contract with JV). More importantly, JV is typically a very slow starter and takes a while to find his groove. That's not exactly what you want in the pen.

Question about Zach Werenski - when you say he "is yet to be officially on the team though he's semi-officially committed" does that mean it's likely just a formality or is his attendance in real doubt? i.e. is there a 90% chance he ends up on the team or is it more 50-50? Is the OHL the threat here or what?

True but the other teams were L-T-W and L-T-L so someone has to advance.

Boy that was a tense second half but happy that USA is through. Sort of like watching Michigan football play really well, get a big lead and then win but almost blow it. It's a result you are fine with but getting there takes several years from your life.
Overall however, good result. Everything is icing from here. USA!

Nik really didn't "beat" many college defenders off the dribble either one on one. He does not need to. What he did do is use picks to get the advantage and then was a good shooter off the dribble, good passer and strong and athletic enough to never allow the defender to regain the advantage. Plus defenders cannot cheat because he shoots it too well. IMO all of those skills will directly translate. Sure, it will be more difficult and he will not dominate but he doesn't really rely on his athletic advantage to put up numbers.
Young has the potential to develop but IMO you see guys like him every year. Could be good but once his athletic advantage disappears, he is just an athletic guard that doesn't really shoot or pass al that well. Young will probably be an okay player and probably has higher upside than Nik but IMO is much more unlikely to achieve that upside. IMO Nik is likely (after a year or two of developing) to either be a starter or a 6th man, and a solid one at that.
I guess time will tell.
|9 weeks 4 days ago||Good analysis. One thing is||
Good analysis. One thing is if a team takes Young over Nik, I believe that will be a colossal mistake. IMO Nik is going to have a solid (not spectacular) career, probably 8-10 years in the NBA. He has a skill set that many teams need and will not diminish quickly. Plus I think he is an underrated passer and ball handler. Maybe it will click with Young but I think that's a significant gamble at that spot. He had teammates taking a bunch of pressure and still didn't produce that much.
And I think Mitch has bunches of potential as a pro. If he can further develop that 15-ft face up shot, he could be a starter for a good while.

I can't believe you failed to mention "team chemistry will be much improved."
|10 weeks 3 days ago||Yes I don't disagree with||
Yes I don't disagree with that but your experience must be more of a city thing and is not anything close to other places. I do see too many idiot cyclists for my taste but they are way in the minority where I live - most riders here obey most or all of the rules of the road. And I must say that most motorists around where I live are very considerate of cyclists - but of course that ones that are not, seem to go out of their way to find problems.
|10 weeks 4 days ago||Welp, if you look at how you||
Welp, if you look at how you turned a thread about a M bike jersey into your own rant about cycling in general, you might understand the basis for a bit of hostility.
|10 weeks 4 days ago||Not only illegal to ride on||
Not only illegal to ride on the sidewalk but significantly more dangerous. The same drivers that would tell you to ride on the sidewalk would also pull out into an intersection without ever looking to see if there is a bike on the sidewalk crossing.
|10 weeks 4 days ago||No, it's the type of thing||
No, it's the type of thing where I try to ride country roads to get exercise, be as visible as possible and understand that, despite that, I am always in danger. I also understand that a certain percentage of cyclists (although much smaller than you believe) act like idiots.
It's the type of thing where I try to use hand signals, obey the rules of the road and be respectful to approaching traffic especially during the week.
It's the type of thing that works and allows me to coexist peacefully with about 95% of drivers but, despite all that, there are the 5% (probably even less than that) that blaze by within a foot or two and have no concept of sharing the road. Sounds like you are part of the 5%. Sounds like you might be looking for the bird.
|10 weeks 4 days ago||Pretty cool jersey.||
Pretty cool jersey. Typically the Michigan ones I have seen are very substandard. This one looks good. I look for bright colors on the back for visibility reasons. This one is a bit "dark" for me on the back but maybe the block M is sufficient. I would be interested if the price is at all reasonable.

|12 weeks 3 days ago||Remember that Dean Lombardi||
Remember that Dean Lombardi (GM of Kings) had derogatory comments about Red and Michigan not developing talent:
Wouldn't it be sweet for the LA Kings to lose on a game 7 Hagelin goal in the Cup Finals? Then when interviewed, Hagelin gives credit for Michigan and Red developing him into an NHL player? Dreaming of that scenario...
|12 weeks 3 days ago||Agreed but I think with||
Agreed but I think with Peppers the intriguing thing is that he is not just pure speed on offense, he his good moves and power also. It's not like just moving a track guy to offense. Peppers also appears to have the patience, cutting ability and vision to be a top-notch back or playmaker.
