How different does the game look in the second half if Michigan builds the lead to 15-18 (or more once Winston went out)? Instead, Michigan backed off and let MSU get back in the game, grab momentum at half time, and attack in the second half. And don't even start on autobenching Iggy and Livers at the same time.
Second-half minutes might generally be more valuable than first-half minutes, but you have to have a feel for when go for the kill and when to tread water. Saturday felt like a kill moment.

I've actually worked through that type of scenario before myself. The biggest issue with your idea is that you have all 130 Div 1 teams in it, and that isn't realistic or smart. To have 13 conferences, either a MAC team is getting into the playoff every year to be slaughtered by Alabama, or you are reshuffling every conference so that there are only a couple of good teams in each conference.
What I've played with before is separating FBS/Div 1 into two groups similar to the P5/G5 system. I go back and forth between 6 or 8 conferences and I think 6 makes more sense. Tell me there are more than 60 teams with any real chance to win the playoff? Anyway, the other schools would be in their own division and have their own playoff.
6 conferences, 10 teams; round-robin scheduling with a couple of OOC games before. 8 team playoff (6 champions, 2 wild-card) and presto: everyone has a clear path to the playoff.
It's for both: if you spend 2 years of high school in Detroit, they'll pay for 2-3 years of community college or trade school. If you spend 4 years of high school there, you'll get 4 years at one of the universities listed.

He basically called one of two running plays or a short pass all day long. He wasn't aggresive at all. 4th and 6 inches calls aren't aggresive, they're common sense.

That leaves the P12 champion, the 1-loss B1G non-champion, potentially Louisville if they aren't the ACC champion, and *maybe* Oklahoma again if they end up winning the B12 (though highly doubtful).

It will be interesting to read the UFR and get Brian's take. While Speight hit his targets, it still feels like he hits them a step slow, and his ball takes too long to get there. There were a number of throws where our guys had to stop, slow, or adjust to the ball in a way that prevented YAC. That kind of stuff can kill drives against a good defense where you need to get all the yards to can when you get the opportunity. The Butt near-touchdown is an example of that; if he hits Butt in stride, he walks into the endzone. Instead he had to make a tough catch on the 1.
Speight did make a number of great throws into small windows, it just seems like he is still a second late reading his progressions and reacting.
