I have done my part. …

I have done my part.  Somehow I am associated with Air Force, so I have been attacking OSU as Chaos.  Yesterday I was the only Chaos to attack the OSU territory Liberty and with a .01 chance took it from OSU!   Got me an MVP as well!

UM only.   Was an idiot to…

UM only.   Was an idiot to not have a backup plan but basically knew I would be accepted basedupon scores.

Also 1990

Last game with Astro Turf - it was being replace by real grass.   People were cutting out small sections of the turf with their keys to keep as souveniers.  Less of a rush because of the win but more because of the circumstances.

$42Million? $60million

I am curioius where are you getting these numbers for gate revenue?   $42m divided by 80000 seats is $525 per ticket.     $60m divided by 140000 seats is $526 per ticket.   I don't think ND or UM averaged that much per ticket...

surely there are more USC

surely there are more USC fans than number 72 Univ of Lousiana at Lafayette?

Match 9 abandoned?

Why? Gettting too dark?   If Polk won it would have evened it up, instead it gave MSU the win

versus the Big Ten never

versus the Big Ten never having a home game?  Seems like the 2 vs 3 argument is the lessor of the evils.

Yes...

I think they are counting on a lot of alumni support for the other sports.  I couldn't count how many times DB said the word "donation" throughout the night.

per DB the athletic

per DB the athletic department still has 230 million in debt from Mich Stadium, Crisler and Yost so it's not like they just paid straight cash for the upgrades to each.   I think the story that the rev from the suites would pay off the that debt is still true.

basketball, football and hockey

basketball, football and hockey are not included in the next round of $250 million in spending.  He specifically mentioned that those three were done first because they are the sports that fund the rest of teams.

That was a good road trip

Michigan also played in the Maui classic that same week.   Saw both UM basketball and football games while hanging out in Hawaii..

Sounds like he is setting it

Sounds like he is setting it up as if the MMB isn't being reasonable with the travel costs

If it only cost 200k to send the team and 400k to send the band then maybe there is a problem...

they are already at 25 (and

they are already at 25 (and oversigned).  Don't they need explicit permission from the B1G to sign anything over 25 in a class?

Good tip

It worked for me as well.

Another article from ESPN Cleveland

Meyer in.  Smith out within 6 - 9 months.  Contact with Meyer being done by Trustees and not by Smith.

The university counts all

The university counts all tickets sold and/or given away in the attendance numbers.    This is why you will never see an attendance number less than the stadium capacity when it is clearly obvious that not every one came to the game.

The reason that the numbers vary from game to game is due to the number of press, attendants, visitors, vendors, cheerleaders etc.

Tickets sold.   Doesn't

Tickets sold.   Doesn't matter if they show or not the the attendance numbers.

He is ESPN's BCS expert

Though he doesn't "know" the exact algorithm he is pretty good at predicting what the results are week to week.  I would guess if the BCS results came out this week they would be pretty close to what he shows.

but for each home game we

but for each home game we have to pay out some to the visiting team.  The assumption is that the amount that UM pays out is equal to the amount that UM gets for the road game.

I can't imagine anything bigger

The guy claims he gave 100s of thousands in benefits over almost a decade with coaches knowledge.

The NCAA was about to

The NCAA was about to sanction Kentucky for recognizing wins that Calipari had vacated.  Kentucky ended up conceding to the NCAA.   I would think the NCAA would do the same in this situation.

I agree. I had section 34, row 5 for 2 years

I couldnt see anything past the 20 yard line.   I watched most of the game on the big screen.

Didn't they already mic the band last season?

Is there something new that has changed?

football game starts around

football game starts around 13:25

If OSU changes his eligibility status

If OSU changes his eligibility status doesn't that mean they are also admitting that he has done something else to extend his suspension?  And if so, then don't they have to report it?

Someone at MDEN reads MGoBlog

The linky no work anymore.   Just an message saying "Sorry, No Products To Show For This Department"

OSU compliance position posted at ncaa.org

http://ncaamarket.ncaa.org/jobs/4253209/associate-director-compliance

All of Indiana observes Day Light Savings now (recent change)

Most of the state is in Eastern time except for 2 small corners that are Central time.

I agree the book isn't so good.

But it is one my 2 year old daughters favorite books, and it does help with the UM brainwashing.     Because of the book she knows that the Block M is "daddy's M" is pronounced "go blue" and every other m stands for Mommy.

awesome

Brandon just tweeted the link to the North Dakota finger fan gif.

Is this really about Rivals and Scout

or are they just the big names?  Isn't this about the shady "recruiting service" that Oregon subscribed and paid for?

dammit

looked up "alternate" in the search and didn't see it...

and the fact that I refresh every 10 minutes and didnt see the post.   f f f f...

completely ignores the Title IX issue.

completely ignores the Title IX issue.   How do you get around it?

read the comments in the story

It used to be "Tressel can do no wrong".  A lot of the comments now want him gone.  If the local population is turning I wonder how long OSU can last with Tressel.

30? really

Didn't expect that.

Is Tenn that bad because of a coach that is a dead man walking or is Michigan playing that well?

dollars

to put his proposal into perspective I tried to figure out how much this would cost.

If a school used every scholarship in every sport (206.9 mens, 174 womens according to the a couple of references that I found) allowed then this would be 761k per semeser or 1.5 mil for a year total.

I know that a lot of schools don't have all sports nor do they currently run a surplus, but that number isn't that large...

And Pearl got suspended by

And Pearl got suspended by the SEC for half the conference games.   With all the talk by the Big Ten about how it is more upstanding than the SEC does anyone think that the Big Ten won't suspend Tressel for more games?  otherwise hipocrisy at its best...

teams vs the line

Michigan is 4th vs the spread, MSU is 314 (!) vs the spread.

MSU -1 seems good based upon that...

http://www.covers.com/pageLoader/pageLoader.aspx?page=/data/ncb/statist…

how soon does the SEC change it's policy

oversigning.com, andy staples, etc and now the UF president.   A lot of publicity and the SEC is taking the majority of the negative PR.

what the fuck is going on here?

what the fuck is going on here?

do they really dislike him that much?

You hear rumblings about the fans not liking him, but the admin also?    If the buyout rumor is true arent they essentially they are telling him they don't want him there?   LIke people said above - like him or not all he does is win...

I don't even post that often

and I felt like a part of me was missing when comments were down.

Hey Merlin

I don't have access to your computer...

But it is also his first

But it is also his first visible major "decision".  This is the one that sets the standard timeline going forward.  One can be flexible with the process if it is already made and established.  If it hasn't been established then this decision is the one that sets it going foward.

except now he has set his standard

it's not just always about now, but about future coaching decision also.  He said he would wait until after the season for the review, and will operate this way for all sports and coaches.

What if he changed his process this time and a similar situation comes up in the future?  Brandon wouldn't be able to say he always waits because he would have shown this to be not true already.

The business would is all about processes, and Brandon is sticking to this.    There is a reason for this no matter if it a process seems to be wrong at the time for a particular task.    Regardless of whether RR is fired or not everyone will now know what timelines Brandon will use and that will keep some of the fire off of him if a similar situation occurs again.

As for recruiting - I didn't realize that the signing date was prior to the beginning of January.  A recruit can wait until after it is announced to keep or not keep Rodriguez, or -gasp - even change their mind and decommit.

House Mother's suite?

It wasn't there in 1990.   Every room was a double so I can't even guess where it might have been.  Maybe they converted it into the lounge or something?

1st little also

1990-91.    The only good thing about 1st little was the huge windows that allowed cases and kegs to be snuck into the rooms.  I think it was the year after mine that they put in new windows.

section 40, row 20

If the rumor is true I'm still a bit pissed hockey moms could buy in lots of 300 and force people who have season tickets into the corners of the endzone.   I bought mine within an hour of the announcement...

I was in the corner endzone of the hockey game up at Camp Randall and it was very hard to see.

another article

here's one where Nebraska had to say no because Boise's demands were too high.

http://omaha.com/article/20100908/SPORTS/709089803/0#

2 in Lincoln, 1 in Boise.  Boise want $1mil per game to play in Lincoln.

So they may still "say" they will play anyone, anytime but as long as you pay them more than you would someone else...
