I’ve seen Father John Misty, the New Pornographers (x2), and Sparks so far this Spring/Summer. Just bought tickets to see the Breeders (with Belly opening) for some 90’s nostalgia in October.
... as a journalist, "well they won" isn't enough. There's a reason (and a story) behind a 4 point win when a 21+ margin of victory was expected. I think this is a rant against the homer press corps that tosses Urban softballs during the post game presser instead of asking tough questions.
There's nothing like a contrarian opinion to galvanize your own.

THE COACHES ARE GENERALLY COOL AND COOL WITH EACH OTHER
Dantonio was smiling and joking around; this is his element as much as it is Harbaugh's, and it's a very different side of the guy we've been up against. There were only two coaches who stayed generally aloof from other coaches and players: Urban Meyer, and the guy with Urban Meyer. (Notre Dame DC who looks and acts exactly like Uncle Rico it's uncanny) Brian Van Gorder is a loud and scary man who did about 15 minutes of scouting and spent the rest of the time chatting it up with old friends (he went to Wayne State); spend more than 8 minutes with him and you're in danger of being sucked deep into the 1980s.
Heard about Crobot first through Rocksmith. I hope they make a trip through Upstate NY in the near future so I get a chance to see them live.
I thought about putting Volbeat on the list, but that doesn't meet the OP's criteria of 'in the last year'. I found out about them 4 years ago, another fantastic band.
My only source of apprehension was due to the unproven nature of our defense. It wasn't until midway through the 4th quarter that I was convinced a 20 point lead would hold up.
If I'm ever terminated for reading mgoblog at work, this will be a key piece of evidence supporting my argument that I was using the time to better myself.
I remember reading Infinite Jest and thinking DFW's mind works just like mine. It's finally clicked why I obsessively watch the feed for new posts.
My guess is we get trapped by the "everybody does it" meme re: practice time. If the NCAA thinks they can get all the other programs into compliance by making an example of UM, they do it.

F-F-S <space> J-B-B is causing flashbacks to ninth grade keyboarding class at Martha Brown JHS.
The Essex Green - new album "Hardly Electronic" plus "The Long Goodbye" and "Cannibal Sea". Khruangbin's "The Universe Smiles Upon You" is good, too.
I can finally stop hitting F5 - thank you.
To the gills!

Perfect... unfortunately I can only give you the air guitar equivalent of an upvote.
"yes that McCartney" probably wasn't the best wording choice
True, but we need as many diversions as possible in the (seemingly endless) time between games :)
One request: could you add a version of the first chart with the 5 stats normalized based on the national average?
Is this a famous Boston saying? Can't say I've ever heard it used before.
It's a conspiracy by the Ilitchs to make Yzerman look like a god when he returns to Detroit. Just like suffering through Hoke before getting Harbaugh.
Phillip Fulmer lobbying other coaches to downvote UM in the final 1997 USA Today poll, resulting in a co-NC with Nebraska.

The picture of Tiller becomes a little funnier if you read the article title as "Unverified Voracity Mrs Wilford Brimley"
You can't spell Brandon without Brand...
Too bad I'm too much of a lurker to have upvoting ability... consider yourself upvoted in spirit :)
Whoa there... just trying to make a joke...
I agree that a slam-dunk contest isn't the right way to settle a tied soccer game. But it would be pretty cool.

What a win, though.
Are the windy conditions going to be exacerbated by the new stadium design?
Mathlete = thank you.
