How about option 1a for TV - many games are not televised on the BTN, but are made available for local syndication.

Remembering that Fox owns 49% of the BTN and all of the aforementioned schools already have some sort of hockey television relationship with their local Fox Sports RSN, I could see this happening.

On option 3: I'd also be curious to see them exploit the magic of time zones to try and squeeze a double-header in, particularly on Saturdays when home teams woundn't be as worried about a 6pm local start instead of 7 or 7:30.  You could have a 6:00 EST game and then a 8:30 EST (7:30 CST) game back to back - or even an 8:00pm Central start time, if you're worried about the first game going to OT.

As noted, this won't really work on Friday, since the Eastern time zone games would almost have to go into the earlier time slot, and no team will want to host a home game at 6:00 or 6:30 on a Friday if they can avoid it.

Wisconsin indeed has an excellent home record, and they do so without the benefit of a great crowd at all.  They'll get up for big games (like any crowd will), but it's not particularly vibrant there.

Hockey's a different story at Wisconsin, but hockey fans are just something else to start with.

Five on Three Strategery

In the run-up to the Olympics last year, the New York Times had a nice article on some of the coaches in Europe that had started pulling their goaltenders when they had a two-man powerplay advantage:

Someone's gotta try this in North America sooner or later.

Delany might have been the client, technically.

In reality, however, it is us fans who are the clients.  And the clients are not happy with the work.

I appreciate Six Zero's explanation of the rpocess here and why a logo contest won't work.  That said, I don't think anyone with an idea for a logo contest would be presenting finished work, but rather a concept to be adopted.

For this logo, I think the color stinks.  I don't like the typface.  I also don't like the contrived use of negative space for "TEN".  Those 3 things comprise the entire logo.

For the BIG in isolation, I want to know how that works in a monochromatic setting (since the shade of blue sucks).  I don't like the serifs on the typeface, I think it's trying to be both modern and in the traditional block lettering of college football.  In trying to be both, it fails to achieve either goal.
