I used to pirate music, I don't anymore. It didn't s stop for any sort of moral or legal reason, I just realized that I didn't need that many songs. I went through a phase where I needed to have every song I wanted to listen to on my phone. I would rarely listen to most of them. Now I just buy and keep around my absolute favorites and listen to the rest on the radio or something. I don't miss it, there's something great about hitting shuffle and not having to skip a lot of songs because they were just throwaways to begin with.
For my all-time favorite artists, I just buy the album blindly. Figure I owe them that much. For new artists, there is most likely a legal free stream of the album somewhere on the internet so I can listen beforehand and eliminate the chance of getting burned on a blind purchase. I end up trying out a lot of new things, buying a few of them, and it works out fine. A subscription service can normally take care of the rest if you need more.

Do you remember that scene in The Social Network where Sean Parker tells Zuckerberg to change the name from The Facebook to Facebook? Same reason: "it's cleaner."
And people dig minimalism nowadays, though I guess a real minimalist would do away with the serifs as well.

My main problem with this is more a problem with modern music in general. The Victors is a classic. It has stood the test of time and will continue to. Songs now, probably more than ever, are temporary. Their use expires after some time. Go back and look at Grammy winners or nominees from as recent as five years ago. How many of these songs do you still even semi-regularly listen to? I'd guess not that many. Personally, most of my listens along these lines are for nostalgia, not because the songs are that amazing.
In addition, the subject has to be about the University. Even if I love the things that are mentioned, it will always sound like they made a list of things to mention and shoved them into a song. It will be lame. It will not have been created from any actual point of inspiration. This is a big reason why "We Are ND" and similar efforts fail (in my opinion).
Here's how to go about this: don't ask the university or anyone else to be in on it, just make the song and put it out into the universe. If it's really a good song and a good anthem for the university, it'll get picked up.

I don't blindly hate the Seahawks, I actually don't hate the Seahawks at all. Their fans, however, I have found to be annoying and oversensitive.

I also can't stand a lot of the 12th man stuff, especially since a lot of people have jumped on the bandwagon recently and have only known success. As a Lions fan I feel like they're Bran and I'm Old Nan from Game of Thrones and I want to give the "Oh, my sweet summer child. What do you know about fear?" speech.

"We can stereotype wealthy offspring as brats..."
Apparently you can also stereotype all low income people by sampling only your non-wealthy nephews as well. They probably don't want to try new things because that hasn't been an option for them. Part of having less money is having less options. If they are bitter about anything, it's probably because they know that there are a lot of nice things that they can't have. And the type of attitude that you displayed in this post is probably why they resent rich kids. You look down on them.
I'm not saying that all low-income people are amazing people always, but come on. My parents are outliers in their families. They worked hard and earned more money, and we're not rich by any means. But that doesn't mean that the rest of my family is composed of a bunch of uneducated, homophobic, shit people. They're fucking great, but don't worry about that because they aren't the type of people you'd want to hang with anyway.

I actually like right now better than the 90s. There's a wider range of music being made, even if you have to look a little harder to find what you're looking for. I will agree that the good alternative radio days are over.

My hatred for them is mostly about the scandal and how it was handled and discussed by people within their own camp. There are few things in life more infurating than hearing a Penn State fan arguing over semantics, telling you about how JoePa was innocent because "he did what he was legally obligated to do." Just because he can't be indicted doesn't make him innocent. That's what we all look for in a leader, right? Someone who is willing to do the absolute minimum to save their own ass when faced with a problem?
They also talk about how people are demonizing Penn State fans. They claim that it's not a Penn State culture problem, it's a college football culture problem. On paper, I have no problem with that point. There are other places where this sort of thing might happen. The flawed logic in the statement is that this bad part of the culture is more pronounced at PSU than (probably) anywhere else in the country. I can't think of another institution where the football program has been so intertwined with the overall success and culture of the school it's attached to. So yes, there is a college football culture problem, but I would argue that it's a larger problem at Penn State than most places.
The last point has to do with putting yourself in their shoes. I've heard statements like "if the same thing happened at [insert school here], they'd all be acting the same way." Here's where I run into a problem. With Bo we have been fortunate enough to have an amazing coach who was beloved and had a long tenure, so we have a valid point of comparison. However, it is hard to imagine anything like this happening while he was coaching here based on everything we know about him. He's the guy who wouldn't believe it if someone else claimed that they didn't know that something was going on within their organization, so the possibility of him claiming ignorance is off the table. From what I understand, he seems to have been the type of character who would overreact to scenarios instead of underreact. I don't know what overreacting to this situation would look like, but the possibility that he sweeps it under the rug is very, very small. Bo was flawed like everybody, but institutional control was not one of his problems. My point is that even with a good point of comparison, it is so hard to put yourself in their shoes because nobody else has ever been in those shoes before. I'd like to think that I would be able to look at that big of a situation objectively, but I can't be sure because I've never had to (and hopefully never will). If I didn't turn my back on the situation completely, I think I would at least be silent about it (no 409 stickers, no chanting "Joe Paterno" at a hockey game).
I don't know where I was going with this, maybe I just needed to rant a little. Look, I know that not all of their fans are bad people, just like not all Michigan fans are good people. I just think that if you're a Penn State fan and you feel like whatever you're about to say will be too harsh without prefacing it with "I don't want to be insensitive toward the victims, but," maybe you just shouldn't say anything at all.

Sources inside Schembechler Hall confirm that they're hiring a full time DJ, who will be blasting music constantly to keep the team pumped. The DJ, called DJ Durkin (no relation to the coach of the same name), will be joined by the aspiring rapper MC Escher (again, no relation to the artist of the same name). MC Escher issued a statement, saying that he vows to "spit hot fire" over the "dope beats" that DJ Durkin will be laying down.

Social justice on the internet is also about phony outrage and talking down to people. Sure, people can act like they do it for altruistic reasons, but there's also a "hey everyone, look at how socially conscious I am" vibe that goes along with it. #CancelColbert is a good example.
Here's the thing: Geaux_Blue was right. The post is a bit creepy. Then why don't we just say it's creepy, downvote and move on? That's all that needs to be done. Nah, let's make him out to be a womanizing monster instead.
Righteous indignation is a drug.
