New Crisler is awesome. The concourse is sweet (especially the waterfall), they now have an M Den shop inside, there's a tribute to Cazzie Russell on the wall, walking around in the place is great (the words to The Victors are on the ground as you go around as well). Hell, I was even excited about the bathrooms (they've even got the Dyson Airblades in there).

As far as this thread goes, we win big. We also put all second string in with about 10 minutes left in the 2nd half. They give up some extra points without scoring as much, 84-60.

Damn WR depth.

The starting lineup for tonight (correct me if I'm wrong) was:

-Spike Albrecht (will be replaced by Trey going forward obviously)
-Matt Vogrich
-Glenn Robinson III
-Tim Hardaway Jr.
-Jordan Morgan

The most exciting thing for me was the bench production (and I'm talking about Spike like he's bench production even though he started). Trey and THJ played a lot of minutes last year. If they were a part of a team with more depth, they wouldn't have had to play as much. I'm not saying that they should get less time on the court, but if either of them need a break, we now have players we can send in for them and not lose confidence in the ability of the squad. 

I'm seriously so excited for this team. Stauskas was phenomenal from the bench, the dude rarely misses (you know this). GRIII showed how good he is tonight. Spike is a good sub for Trey, who will also surely be awesome. THJ is now, more than ever, a complete ball player (I was especially impressed with his rebounds and good decision making tonight). McGary had some nice plays in there, especially in offensive rebounds and blocks. Rebounding in general from this squad going forward will be better than it has been in recent memory. What happened to the undersized Michigan teams we've grown to love?

In conclusion, I'm really excited. Having depth this year is going to be awesome. You know how Tigers fans are always asked who their Tiger is? If I was asked who my favorite MBB player was tonight, I would have a hard time answering (in a good way).

PS: I think I'm in the minority, but I don't want McGary to start just yet. He obviously helped the team, and I have no facts to support my opinion, but he just didn't feel like a starter based on tonight's game. I know it's too early, and hopefully he proves me wrong soon.

I understand that. I suppose better phrasing would have been "which is not how I've been pronouncing it, good to know", but I thought the thing about trying to get a tv perspective implied that I'd be learning something by watching it on tv.

Anyway, I fell asleep on my couch watching this. I don't even think I made if through the first quarter.

Some people got onto the field right after the game, but most people got stopped by the police or security. Then there was the video about the team getting 900 wins. It started as a slow bleed of people, eventually everyone just went.

I'm going to paraphrase a George Carlin quote: "I hate groups of people, but I love individuals." When someone is acting with a group of people, they aren't necessarily the same as they would be individually. I grew up in the Lansing area and most of the MSU fans that I know are great people. I also traveled to the game at MSU last year and I couldn't be more disappointed with how their fans acted as a whole. And sure, maybe you remember the terrible fans more than you remember the nice ones, but a good proportion of the fans that I saw were assholes to me that day. That having been said, we have some assholes too. I've seen it in our stadium, but I've also seen someone get yelled at by their entire section for shitty behavior before. It was awesome, and I'm glad that a bunch of people realized he was being a douche and made it a point to let him know.

The Final Countdown not so much, but it could be played soon. Stayin' Alive was in the Saturday Night Fever show in 2010, but never really played in the stands. You Should Be Dancin' comes up every once in a while though.

And the 1 of the 1-4 was with the Bauserman experiment. Yeesh.

Actually, I think he was a college football fan. He played the guitar, but he also liked to draw/paint things. Players know there is a possibility to get injured, but they still play the game. They get enjoyment of the sport, and the possibility to become a pro athlete and make a whole bunch of money playing it. For me this is like the lottery. People know the odds, and they know they aren't good. People play the lottery regardless because of what could happen if they won. 

I agree with four, maybe eight teams. I'm sure whatever they come up with will infuriate everybody to no end, so I'm not getting my hopes up for anything really good.

It's not bad to see an upside. I think it's awesome to see what could be. At ND in '11 I envisioned the Denard TD before the half, I was ccol during the entire Under the Lights expericence, and I was confiident during the Sugar Bowl. It's contagious, be confident and others will folllow, and that's what the fanbase needs, a littel confidence. Keep doing what you're doing, especially if you're spectating.

I'm thinking a Final four of Kentucky vs. Missouri and Syracuse v. Kansas, Kentucky winning it all. I think we'll lose to UNC, but the game will be closer than people would like to believe going in. I'm fine with not playing night games against MSU and OSU, in the future they'll probably mostly be ND, Nebraska, Wisconsin, PSU (time will tell I guess)? In a couple years when we start playing Pac 12 schools every year I would expect those matchups to be decent times for a night game.

I think the defensive line just needs to be good for him not to be a bust. If the defensive line does good as a whole and he's a big part of it he won't be a bust. That's just my opinion though, and it wouldn't hurt if he put up some good numbers.
