For sure those guys are gone. I meant more like our returning production guys. I believe quite a few on this board expected a mass exodus like Alabama/Washington when the Harbaugh left and quite a few assistants went with him. I just haven't heard much from insiders talking with the players in the program currently if they are pumped about the new staff..ect.
The whole idea of keeping most of the old coaching staff intact to keep the players here has been imploded. If i was any major institution, I would be committing "minor" violations talking these kids about what they could get if they entered the portal.
The benefit of not engaging in as much "pay-for-play" as some of the other major programs...means you don't have a roster full of mercs for hire. Since NIL wasn't our best selling point to begin with, hopefully we don't lose a lot...but I think when the first one goes...more seem to want to jump from the sinking ship.
Personally...I'm kind of fed up with the posts from people that are basking in the glow of a Championship that feel like whatever happens for the next couple years...is peachy because we just won a natty.
Alabama...OSU....Georgia.... these high profile programs are not this way. Alabama wins a national title and gears up the following year to win another. Their fanbase expects to create a culture of winning and competing for the National Championship year in and year out. So why shouldn't we expect to do the same?
WR talent is not something that we have prioritized recruiting, developing, or utilizing for quite some time. This takes nothing away from guys like Roman Wilson or Ronnie Bell, they are great men and decent WRs...but we dont have a true WR1 that can stretch the field and create that seperation. With a talented QB, it would be nice to get him some weapons other than TE's.
If we accepted the fines instead of fighting them, wouldn't that be almost an admission of guilt, allowing the NCAA to reference that and come in with the hammer? I say ...fight everything.
There is no pearl clutching you cuck. You cant ignore facts. Screaming witch hunt about something you don't want doesn't make it less true. See 2020 election. JH is a great coach, he has had some rough seasons with Michigan and some great season with us. I actually want him to stick around and for the AD and President to come out in support of him. I'm just not stupid enough to think there is no fire amongst the smoke.
First off...we are not a "win at any cost" type of institution. So, regardless of the motive, if there is some shady stuff happening around the program and we were benefiting from it...it should be looked into. No need to bury your head in the sand and act like there is no smoke. This program obviously made some mistakes, starting with this staffer.

Let's not forget, it was not until recently did he get over the OSU hump and 2017-2020 were not the best years and a lot of people (alumni included) wanted him gone. Not to mention he has flirted with the NFL 2 separate times, costing us future recruits.

We rarely have a chance to be at the top because of things like "admissions issues", lack of bagmen or NIL funds", "high academic standards" and this costs us with elite talent nationwide. I give all the props to the coaching staff for what they have done with the kids they have found/recruited.
As much as I want to keep winning and playing at a high level, we do need to make sure we do so with integrity.

JJ is an amazing QB. Would be be nice to see him go through progressions a bit more instead of locking into a guy and making an incredible (but great) throw every time. Also, does he have a touch pass or is everything a bullet. Other than those nitpicks, he is an amazing QB and even his scrambling today was on point.
- Edwards doesn't play like a RB. He doesn't take contact well, find holes or have good vision. He DOES have elite straight line speed but not the wiggle or nimble feet or YAC that is needed from a back. Starting to think that the major plays he has made at Michigan so far was more of a bit of luck and good blocking vs great running on his end. The coaching staff definitely knows better than me in this, but I'd love to see him start as a WR/PR/KR for us.

I don't see the issue with this post. All those negs really are just mob mentality. There is nothing wrong with speaking the truth for or against the University. It doesn't make you less of a fan to look at things objectively instead of through rose colored glasses.
JH has created instability within this program twice now. He didnt get it done the first couple years of his tenure at Michigan and that is on him. Now that he has beaten OSU twice now, everyone here is ready to sell their child for him to return. Lets not forget that he is 2-5 against our hated rivals.
I think UofM has done a terrible job innovating and assisting Harbaugh with NIL incentives to gather top talent in Ann Arbor so the fact that he threatened to leave last season was understandable... but if you are going to sign a new contract and promise that your flirtations with the NFL are over for good, then stick to your word. If not, you leave coaches and players in limbo.
I really believe that JH is a quirky dude and hasnt connected well with some of the NFL organizations he has interview with. Thus, no job offer, and a reason why he is most likely coming back.
So, the Panthers already passed on JH...the word from their camp is JH actually initiated calls to the Panthers and not the other way around. This stinks for real....
This is just a thought so I cant speak for Harbaugh himself....however the frustration JH is going through is very similar to the reason Beilein left ultimately left Michigan. We always complain about Bagmen here, trouble with admissions, being late or nonexistant in NIL...ect ect ect. The deck has been stacked against Michigan being elite because of their unwillingness to adapt or participate in some of the "shady" practices that benefit many major programs out there.
I think Beilein did a masterful job but knew he would always be chasing other programs despite his success. It really frustrated him. Harbaugh is very similar in that regard, and with the changing NIL landscape, he has probably lost a lot more recruits then we even know about and the frustration has set in. Harbaugh on a level playing field would absolutely win us several national championships, I just think he is tired of playing games and wants to just coach.

JH is a recruiting machine but falls short of expectations.
JB struggled pulling in top talent but consistently won due to better player development and program culture.

I see some transfers coming along the OL. Looks like we have 8-9 starters at least with only 5 spots.
Guys like El-Hadi, Gentry might be too good to just sit as backups. I really think El-Hadi becomes a starter next year
