Yup they are, but have plenty

Yup they are, but have plenty of potential to jump. I was talking to the strength coach last week, obviously before the King incident, and he said if they won big by 10+ this week they could've got home field over Cass, but that was assuming King beat them. Where they end up should be very interesting

Regional Final

Don't be so quick to annoint DLS the winner of their district. I don't know if you've seen South play but their D is one of the best I've seen in a while in high school without any D1 offers, and I played in a state semi-finals of my own. If they beat Dakota next week DLS could be coming to GP to play that district final

Sparty on road

Sparty vs top 15 opponents on the road under Dantonio is 0-5 with the average spread being 17 points and overall vs top 15 is 6-13 with a 10 spread. They either win close or get whalloped in these games, and personally I don't think they've seen a D like the one we're running out this year with cook as QB. Durkin is going to mix up the coverage on him. I especially think early he shoots an LB out in a slant drop expecting them to try and exploit our slant coverage from the last three weeks. But in the end I see us sing The Victors loud and proud. 24-7

UK development

Like the twins who possibly regresssed from year one to year two. Cal does not develop talent, he is a babysitter who rolls the ball out there and yells play. His offense is either iso for an uber athletic PG or post up a big guy. No player that he has coached has ever really shown marked improvement over the course of the year, SKILL wise, or, on the off chance they aren't one and done, year to year

Drummond is a beast, he runs

Drummond is a beast, he runs and jumps so effortlessly for a 6'10" 280 guy. He has so much potential, and is a pleasure to watch live, albeit when he gets the ball..

Walton

I'm not saying Walton can't replace Burke, I've seen him play and played against him too. The kid is good, but is the Burke of last year NO. and that can't be expected, but I do believe, given time, he will be the next very good point guard at uofm. The kids a gamer, and we should expect good things from him, just give him time. It took Burke a whole year to really figure it out and then but it together his soph. year

Walton

But he still has to adjust to the game, it's a different speed and level of physicality than HS

IU

I also don't think IU is deserving of the top 25, they lost so much in Zeller, Oliadpo, Hulls and Watford that I don't think you can just 'reload' and go back at it. I don't think Yogi can carry that team to much of anhything beyond maybe .500 in the B1G TEN. Vonleh is considered a top 10 talent but most of the other recruits aren't highly touted. Also their other frosh didn't show much last year, and unlike Beilein I really doubt Crean's ability to identify undervalued talent, so I don't know where this talent that puts them as a top 25 team is coming from

Point Guards

I agree the staff has shown an aptitude for developing PG's but walton won't waltz in and dazzle right away. It will take time for him to transition to the college game and I agree that by the end of the season we should be playing a level much higher than 9 I feel that's a reasonable place to start considering we just lost the player of the year.

Improvement

Harris can improve all he wants but if he as an incompetent Appling running the point he won't get as many looks. Appling is a great athlete who is more of a combo guard being forced to run the point, who also struggles mightily when shooting the ball, I believe he had multiple 0-10+ games last year. Then add in that Payne is gonna want to "get his" and this team has the makings of a team that could implode if they struggle early and they lose chemistry. Yes give them credit now, but you also have to realize that guys plateau, a la Hardaway, and Appliing probably isn't going to get much better in the next year, especially in the areas that he needs to improve in: shooting the ball consistently and setting his teamates up.

Bluiett

I mean he's an athlete, not a freak or anything, but he can really shoot. I have only seen one of his games live and it was a blow out so not much else to say. But yeah he has those two, but hasn't tipped when he'll declare

Bluiett

Bluiett is down to Butler and Michigan, not really looking at IU. And has been leaning very heavily towards Butler since they joined the A-10 becasue it allows him good competition plus can stay very close to home
