3. You are under arrest!
|2 weeks 5 days ago||A lot to do with the position and head coaches||
Getting that FG just shows me that Hoke is getting it done. Poorly coached teams don't execute like that.
Now, imagine for a moment that you've got a team that can execute like that, but flops around like a pack of slovenly idiots on normal offensive plays. I think the blame there falls squarely on the guy responsible for coordinating these well trained athletes into a capable pack.
In conclusion: FIRE BORGES!
|3 weeks 2 days ago||You guys I just thought of something...||
Holy crap... what happens when we get this guy back?
At that point, do we go from Balls to full fledged big boy testes?
|3 weeks 2 days ago||Man....||
Well, my wife might not like it, so...
|3 weeks 2 days ago||For the record||
Pretty sure our backups would lose to SCst.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||Backups are in||
But Walton still out on the floor. Smart. He needs the time.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||Hey Coach!||
Put McLimans in!
What?! Are you serious?!? Man... :(
|3 weeks 2 days ago||Seriously?||
STst player with the floor slap. LOL.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||Observations||
Horford is really improved.
Morgan may have regressed. Or maybe not regressed, but it kinda looks like Michigan's game is just a little too athletic for him now. He seems to be running hard just to keep up.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||I know you're kidding||
But seriously, SCst has been pretty good from very deep. They'd be minus 9-12 most nights.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||Hot damn...||
That dunk by Stauskas would've been a Game... Blouses.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||Mmm...||
Michigan dance squad girl with the long, wavy dark hair... I'm in love.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||That's why you play these games||
So that you learn to deal wit hthe cold streaks and what works to get through them.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||Spike is a bad dude. That||
Spike is a bad dude. That little hip check there to push the defender out on his bench was nasty.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||errr...||
I'm not so sure they are btter.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||You are no officially||
|3 weeks 2 days ago||So...||
If Stauskas and LeVert shoot the lights out, we should have an easy season? I never would've guessed it.
|4 weeks 6 days ago||For the record||
I was there, and these are the things I can report:
Lohan will be out a couple of weeks at least. He left for the locker room shortly after going off the ice. He was keeping all of his weight off of his right leg, AND seemed to be favoring his right shoulder a lot. He's not just hurt. He is injured. two teamates had to help him off the ice.
Hyman SHOULD be injured, but is evidently fine. He got nailed by a tech player a few inches bigger htan him right on the corner of the boards at the north end ofthe Michigan bench. If the padding weren't on that coner, he'd have spit his face open. Nasty.
Red made a TON of line changes. I was questioning it, becauseit seemed we had trouble getting anything going offensively with all the changes, but it paid off in OT big time.
Tech is way more talented and skilled than their record indicates. HOWEVA, they didn't do much creation. Their shots came on effort plays to get breakaways or catch a puck in front of the net. They rarely got into an offensive set.
Clare should get some freedom to come up more on O. He won several foot races for pucks or to get into a defensive position, and definitely has speed.
Racine is a little rusty if his pregame practice means anything, but his glove is lightning and he's still your starter when he shakes off the rust.

Definitely has a Plague, but not just out front.
|5 weeks 4 days ago||There you go||
You actually answered my question! Thanks!
So one year for player development, and no specific cut off date for that development to take off, so long as the development is evident SOMEWHERE in production.
|5 weeks 5 days ago||Hmmm...||
I can't argue with that one.
|5 weeks 5 days ago||That's kind of the point||
Although I'm not nearly so negative on him (he single handedly won as many games as he single handedly lost), you just said exactly what I said. He was too good to take off the field (plus we had no other options), but because of the way he was built, as a QB, our offense had to be the DENARD OFFENSE. It takes time to make a paradigm shift from the DENARD OFFENSE to something else. How long?
|5 weeks 5 days ago||Yeah||
I think we all agree they tried it about a game and a half too long. But that makes more sense than assuming our coaches are idiots that have been running the wrong offense all season.
|5 weeks 5 days ago||Okay||
That's fair. However, I'm not sure I would agree that taking over mid-season for a player that everyone expected to come back within a week or two (initially. Remember, nobody thought he'd be out through the end of the year.) counts as much, because I don't think they spent much time adapting the offense. They had fewer QB runs, but overall, they still ran it like it was Denard's offense, under the assumption that he was coming back.
Remember, I'm not talking about Gardner improving (which he has, albeit in fits and starts). I'm talking about finding the right formations and playcalls to get the most out of the players you have now.
|5 weeks 5 days ago||And...||
How long does it take to figue out how to best compliment players? How long does it take to figure out what offensive style will be the best for a team for the season. I mean, you can score an instant touchdown with a good hook and ladder. Should a team make that their base play?
|5 weeks 5 days ago||I actually agree||
But since Denard left, do you think it makes sense to give more traditional, I-Form power running an honest go? And since we haven't done it in years, do you think an honest go is half a game, or half a season, or what?
|5 weeks 5 days ago||Let me play parrot||
I'm just going to say the same things everyone else has said in this thread, but here it is:
If you think that the rush (biggest point of contention last season) hasn't improved this season, look at the numbers.
If you think the offense is worse this season than last season, look at the numbers.
If you think this TEAM is worse this season than last season, look at the numbers.
If you think that some of the game plans, especially offensive, have been questionable, you're entitled to that. The sure are infuriating sometimes.
If you think that some close wins against obviously inferior teams and a reak type loss in Happy Valley are a HUGE PROBLEM, look at the entire history of college football.
If you thinki bitching and moaning because your favorite team is 6-1 in a way that displeases you makes you look cool, look at yourself.
I swear to god, half the fanbase is like Minny fans when Glen Mason was coach. "Sure, we're winning, but not how I WANT us to win! GRRR!!! I AM ANGAR!!!"
Truly, why are you on this site if you aren't looking at the numbers? There are other sites where you can bitch and moan about things you don't understand. Here, our generous authors are numbers acolytes. It is what they believe and know. It's what we readers believe and know. They don't lie.
|5 weeks 6 days ago||It's rarely luck||
RPS is a way of controlling player point values.
If a D has been blitzing all day, you don't wanna give a reciever +3 every time a screen goes for 30 yards.An RPS call in this case demonstrates that the O Coordinator recognized that a blitz was likely and called the appropriate play to make them pay for their blitzing.
Occasoinally, especially early, an RPS can be luck if a team is doing something they haven't shown a lot of in the past. If a team enters a game playing a very soft D that they've not run before, kind of like our ND defense was, the O coordinator might get a "luck" RPS for an early short field throw. However, as the D keeps doing that, more and more of those plays can be attributed to the coordinator putting the offense in the right position to take advantage.
|5 weeks 6 days ago||Yeah||
That sounds like a herniated disk or something. Those things never quite go away. Hopefully, it's muscle spasms or something instead.
