Ding ding ding we have a winner. Id love to see what would happen if tomorrow they stopped collecting taxes and shut the whole government down. From DC down to the municipal. I'm guessing the people who whine about Uncle Sam wouldn't like it very much. None of us would.

I agree that Ann Arbor is 1000x the town Eugene is. But rain all the time? Not really. I lived in Eugene for 4 years and I'm not in Portland. Oregon is beautiful and the weather is awesome. I don't think we went below 32 more than a few days this winter. That lately it's been 70s and sunny. Oregon is paradise.

I agree that based off of what we have seen so far he is the best QB in the draft. It just seems like that person never ends up being the best decision when you look back 5 years from now. It will likely be some guy drafted in the 4th round who often looked mediocre in college. I think coaching plays such a huge role in how we evaluate college players. Mariota had the best offensive minds in the country coaching him. Some of the later round QBs were probably not that lucky. What happens to Mariota if he peas thrown into Gardners shoes? He'd still be good, but not 1st round good IMO.

I could be wrong about this, but it seemed to me that every time Mariota found someone late in the progression it was because they were hand wavingly wide open 40 yards down field. That or a back out of the backfield with no defender in sight. He also had tons of time or used his legs to buy tons of time. None of those things are likely to happen on Sundays.

Yep, I got punched just walking down the street, my wife had a lit cigarette thrown at her, a 45 year old man took a piss on our car while we were stopped at a light. Cops just looked the other way. It's is truly a horrible city with a horrible fan base.

2004, 2006, 2008 @ Ohio State. Their fans are horrible to anyone wearing Michigan stuff. Women, children, softies like me, they don't care. I don't plan on ever going back there again. Honestly I'm not sure what caused me to go back in 2008 after the previous two trips. Yuck.

Ya I can't really rip on these at all. Clean look with traditional team colors. Certainly nothing close to Oregon in that regard. Even the Browns down the leg looks fine, just invokes some potty humor I guess.

Lighten up Francis. It's not like they completely removed the post. Honestly, I would have been fine with it if they had because I don't come to MGoBlog for that kind of content.

My opinion on the matter is that anyone who claims they can predict our win total with any kind of certainty is wrong.

Easy to say something like this in hindsight. By your rationale we should have redshirted the entire team and played walk ons only in order to build for the future. I know that's not what you mean and I know there are some redshirts that should not have been burned, but saying a redshirt is worth a loss in a past season isn't a fair thing to say IMO.

|3 weeks 4 days ago||I agree with you that a||
I agree with you that a microbrew bracket is a near impossible thing to do well. How did they determine which breweries made it in, and where they were seeded? Seems really arbitrary to me. Plus once the voting opens up, it gets even more ridiculous because I'm guessing around 5% of voters have had multiple beers from each brewery they are voting on.

|3 weeks 4 days ago||Ya that makes sense. I do see||
Ya that makes sense. I do see at least three Oregon breweries in there. But the selections are a little strange. Everyone knows Deschutes of course, but the other two are Breakside and Upright. I didn't know that anyone knew of those outside of Portland. Both a just a few years old IIRC, and Upright is still operating out of the cellar of an office building. They only open on the weekends because the rest of the week they're brewing down there! I love them both, but I'm just surprised to see them on here.

I only see a couple Oregon and Washington breweries in the bracket. Something about that seems a little off. Not that there aren't great micro breweries everywhere, but I feel like Beervana could be better represented.

The one trick play makes so much sense now! I think it was the buffalo stampede QB transcontinental extravaganza that they threw to John Navarre in the epic comeback against Minny in 2003! Correct me if I'm wrong.

Speaking of the price of beer, I recently started getting into some sours, barrel-aged beers, etc. I used to think paying 9 or 10 dollars for a six pack was too much. Now, it's not uncommon to pay $10+ for one 750ml of something pretty rare. It's worth every penny IMO, but I've had to adjust my perspective and start thinking of those kind of beers like I do wine. I guess that's the danger of living in Beervana.
