What she needs to do is to stop running. Marathon running is horrible on knees. Nothing can save the knee if it has significant arthritis. There are temporary measures that can be done to alleviate pain but there is nothing that can "fix" the arthritis. The natural history of the disease ends in a knee replacement. Its hard to give anymore advice on her situation without examining her and reading her films etc. but I can tell you that knee arthritis is one of the most commonly seen and treated orthopaedic diseases in this country and if she has already been seen by two "top" docs in Chicago then there likely isn't much any other "expert doc" is going to be able to do. You can search far and wide but you're not going to find a magic cure. You might find some docs doing some "revolutionary" new treatments (hey they do these in Europe!!) that they can charge good money for from you/your insurance, but have no proven utility.
My advice, you and the wife have to sit down and have some serious discussions about her future with running. Ultimately its not about the experts you consult its more about dealing with the reality of the situation. Denial is a natural reaction but eventually you need to get to the acceptance phase. Then, stay in Chicago where you have a wealth of medical experts between Rush (top 10 ortho hospital), Northwestern, UIC, U of C, and Loyola, find an orthopod you are comfortable with and continue management as you guys and that doctor see fit.

I agree with you SQ. This team is just not good enough and is certainly not coached well enough to win the whole thing.

I'm not arguing against the red at all. That was definitely the correct call. Just before I saw the replay it seemed like she was just outside the box when she was taken out.

It was certainly a red. She was taken out with no other defender standing between morgan and the goal.

Our dump and chase tactic worked one more time. Eventually this is going to bite us in the ass though. They need to be able to link passes through the mid-field and build more attacks while holding possession. The idea that they can just kick it far and run after it is ridiculous and the lack of technical skill on the U.S. side is glaring.

I don't understand how everyone can say we are getting screwed by the referee? Either your blind homerism is taking over or you don't actually know the game.

I think my biggest issue with his banishment from the HOF is that he clearly has a gambling addiction. It's an addiction just like drugs or alcohol etc and there are plenty of people in the HOF that were alcoholics or drug addicts. Unless they can prove that he intentionally threw games that he was betting on I think that Pete Rose deserves to be in the hall of fame.
Baseballs HOF seems so stuffy and controversial to me. I get that its the national past time and its an old game and all that but the way they vote people in and the vitriol that some voters have for candidates makes it unlike any other sport IMO and its kind of annoying.

The main reason is because its so easy to get loans. As soon as the goverment (this is not meant to be a political attack) started to guarantee loans for damn near everyone, the schools could literally charge whatever they want because there is a limitless invisible bag of money somewhere that the students could get their tuition money from.
So once the loans became guaranteed to go through it didn't matter if tuition was 10,000 or 50,000 because the schools and students both knew they would be able to come up with the money. The schools obviously chose the 50,000 option because why wouldn't they if the money was there for the taking.
As mentioned above, the consequences of this are going to drag the economy way down. There is an entire generation of people who are saddled with insurmountable student loan debt that will prevent them from buying homes, purchasing cars, spending any money on extras such as entertainment and dining out etc. The loan bubble is going to burst soon and its going to be a big, big problem.

Good points. His efficiency was definitely down. And Iggy ended up winning the MVP so it looks like your opinion was definitely the more popular one. I just didn't think Curry was playing as bad as everyone made it seem. The way people were dogging him made it seem like he had Klay Thompson's finals (where the hell was that guy the past 2 weeks).

I guess I don't understand why people think he played mediocre the whole series. Maybe people had much higher expectations for him than they should have. But he literally had one bad game. He has averaged 25/6/5 in the finals. The points are a 1.5 point uptick from his MVP regular season. In fact his averages across the board were more or less what they were throughout the regular season and that includes the atrocious game 2 which carries much more weight in his averages obviously than any single game in the regular season. I just don't know what people expected from Steph
|10 weeks 4 days ago||Ill refer you to my argument||
Ill refer you to my argument earlier in the thread. He only played 3 extra minutes in game 4 while starting compared to games 2 and 3 when coming off the bench. I don't understand the perception that he was some non-entity in the first half of the series who was all of the sudden given playing time and thrived. He played a ton in the first few games, he just wasn't that effective.

Interesting stat. Including this game, Steph Curry has made 96 3-pointers in the 21 playoff games the Warriors have played. That total would be good for 61st in the league during the regular season...in 21 games! That is crazy

How bout Shawn Livingston, coming back after that gruesome injury 8 years ago to play meaningful minutes on a championship team.
|10 weeks 4 days ago||I don't understand why||
I don't understand why everyone is making such a big deal about Iguodala being inserted into the starting line-up and using it as a reason to give him the MVP. He hasn't played fewer than 32 minutes in ANY game in the finals and has played at least 36 in 4 of the 5 completed games. He just had 3 games where he was just another guy so people assume that he didn't play much and that him being made a starter = him having a bigger role and leading the Warriors to the title. Curry on the other hand had one really poor game (game 2, still had 19 points though) and people are trying to use his "slow start in the series" to discount his argument for the MVP and give it to Iggy. I just don't get it. If the MVP goes to anyone other than Lebron it has to go to Curry, unless he plays horribly in this game and a possible game 7.
|10 weeks 6 days ago||I don't think his complaint||
I don't think his complaint is that the games aren't close I think his main issue is that the level of play is bad from both teams. The games are good (close games down to the end except game 4) but the level of play is so bad that its like watching the M00N game. Close contest but not what most would consider an enjoyable watching experience.
I don't necessarily agree with him, though this has been some ugly basketball in the finals, but I think thats what he was getting at.
