If the Big East dissolves at the end of the year and somehow UCONN joins the B1G instead of the ACC, would that make our game against them a conference game or how would that one work out?
This man has been right ever since the beginning of the Big 10 Expansion. According to him, Monday appears to be Decision Day for the future of the Big 12. I think the ACC non-football contracts seem to be the most likely thing to happen, and man, will that be interesting.
But this didn't merit its own thread and sorta (not really), fits in here.
Does the BTN have a coverage map for which game will be shown for where you live? I spend a little bit of time looking and couldn't find anything, and my cablebox just says "Michigan/EMU or Purdue/SE Missouri."
I'm assuming I'll get the Michigan game since nobody outside of Illinois cares much for Purdue (I'm in PA), but I would just like to know if I have to go to a bar tomorrow for the game.
Anybody want to jump in with me on this and bring a picture of Bruce Feldmans face? I think I may have to bring out a Dan Patrick or Keith Olbermann headshot...espn loves it when you promote their former employees...
Other options include: Peter Gammons, Charlie Steiner, U of M alum Rich Eisen, the very recently departed Brian Kenney, Harold Reynolds, Steve Phillips, B10 Network anchor (and dream-job winner) Mike Hall...many, many others to consider.
So I'm sitting in my grad student office in happy valley and burst out laughing at the comparison of JoPa and a hipster, needless to say my office-mates inquire about my laughter, and the ones who did undergrad here do not approve of your hipster comparison. I think you've given me the perfect image for the bullitin board out of my office, thanks.
There is some loophole in PA laws where they don't have to release the salaries of coaches. Trust me, JoPa's salary has been veiled in mystery for a long time now...
lets just hope when nbs rebrands versus to a legit sports network, they get some yahoo partnership since yahoo has all the real reporters and objectivity...
I've been going to the area (Hampton, VA) quite a bit this summer, and the drive from Quantico to Hampton has been averaging 2 Hours (3 on Fridays with traffic)...and that's BEFORE the tunnel. If you are trying to go through the tunnel on a Friday night, forget it, the drive from Quantico to Virginia Beach will be closer to 4 or 5 hours.
I agree with someone above, you're much better off going to DC/Annapolis for the weekend. Tons to do in DC, and Annapolis can be a cool city as well. If you go over the bay bridge, St. Michaels can make for a fun day. If you like crab, hit up the Crab Claw...great times to be had by all
A perrenial top 15 football program and you're saying they don't pass the Sparty test? Come on now...
Also, I think you'd be surprised at their academics, alot of the engineering degrees are just barely below Michigan's. The would certainly be a better academic school than Sparty...
I'm gonna try and show up with a picture of my favorite sportscenter anchors a'la mid 90's...Probably get kicked out by ESPN brass who don't like publicity for former employees.
Both of those guys have to be wearing harnesses in order to be up there. It'd be a huge OSHA violation if they are not harnessed in, and UM wouldn't be too happy if they don't have harnesses. UM has instituted some very strict rules regarding construction on campus since there were a few deaths in the past 5 year with construction on campus.
Of course Cav will take the stage. Just like every year, a breakaway will form in the first one or two laps around the Champs-Elysees, only to be realed in sometime in the second to last lap. After that, it is all about Team HTC as they will set up the train coming around the final curve for Cav.
As for your time limit comment, it wouldn't have been just Cav DQ'd this year, but somewhere around 60 riders didnt make the cut on both the final mountain stages. This would have forced teams to withdraw, as I am fairly certain you must have at least 5 of your team to continue.
And congrats to Cadel, who most certainly deserved the yellow this year.

I expect all the favorites to be together at the bottom of Alpe d'Huez. I think Andy needs another 30 seconds to hold off Cadel in the TT, and here is where he needs to get it. Voeckler has been riding possessed these past few days, but he cracked towards the end of Stage 18, and I think he'll crack early on d'Huez.
I think that Cadel and the two Schleck brothers will be riding up together and the Schleck's will alternate attacks until Cadel cracks and both or one of them ride away at the end. Should amount to an exciting climb with many attacks on the 21 switchbacks.
I think the Schleks must attack the second mountain. After watching yesterday, if Contador/Sanchez is with them at the second summit, they will ride away on the descent and go into full attack mode on the 3rd mountain.
Going into the 3rd mountain I think all the favorites will be even with each other and this race will break wide open with attack after attack and someone will crack and someone will set themselves apart from the rest.
Here is to hoping Cav and the other sprinters make it through this hellish day, Paris would be quite boring without the main sprinters in the end.
How about an article on the recruitment of the Athlete position? I'm kind of curious to see how these athletes have translated into a football position.
I only did a brief search of Rival's 'Athletes' and looked at a small smattering, but couldn't really put a face to some of the names or anything.
The gates are almost always being occupied by some plane. Since your flight landed soo late, your plane missed its gate spot as it was taken by the next plane that would have normally landed at that gate.
How has this been associated with coach Tressel and anyone who happens to be above him in the food chain? I have to believe the position coaches see players more than the head coach.
According to the article written by Brian Bennett (the new guy helping Rittenberg), Starling has an agent (Scott Boras). Do the rules change for multi-sport atheletes with agents and stuff? Is he ineligible for baseball but not football?
Now I don't usually read the FREEP for obvious reasons, but hearing this on the radio on the way to work this morning...now I really think that paper ought to go out of business.
Start of U.S. hosted world Cup, Game 5 between Rockets and Knicks, Arnie's last US Open, and it was all trumped by a 30 MPH Police Chase...Spectacular 30 for 30
I don't think we can sustain the same number of drops as we saw this year (at the most inopportune times mind you).
Another year in the system, another year to get stronger, another year to just flat out mature, this offense will be clicking on all cylinders next season.
With all the rumor-mongering going on here, I decided to check out the rumor-mongering over at Miami (YTM). It appears that RR isn't even on their radar and I think this thread can be basically put to bed. But it probably won't.
The only thing that could make Turducken any better would be if the stuffing was replaced with bacon...On second thought, that might just have to happen this Thanksgiving...I'm gonna call the pops soon...

Does every Grantland story need to be reposted on this board? Or is it safe to assume we can stumble our way over there if we feel like it?

Michigan sneaking in at #34 with 19 votes.
The game is played at High Noon, unless of course the suits get in there and ruin it.

Tony Dungy on the Dan Patrick Show...
Dan: Has Michigan called you about your job?
Tony: They did not...I'm kinda glad they didn't call...my dad grew up a big Michigan Man...I'm glad they didn't call
Dan: What if they do call?
Tony: If they call, I have some great recommendations for them
Makes you wonder who he has in mind for us and if there would be a chance given the Michigan connections he's got...

You must not know that the US Military also has their flags backwards, because that's the way the flag flies as you're running into battle.
Their uni's are also supposed to be a tribute to the military.
But really, is Mr. Spots OT?
