I would love to hear why you're so confident in your IT'S HAPPENING stance, State Street. I've seen other people ask you and have never seen you actually reply to them, which leads me to believe that you're just guessing on a 50/50 proposition and hoping to look like you knew all along in the end. What makes you so confident? Or are you, in fact, just blowing smoke in hopes that it will look like you knew all along in the end?

"mine as well" is the one that always gets me. I actually heard someone arguing about how that was correct, and "might as well" was wrong. Couldn't believe it.

I get what you're saying, but I would take Saban in a heart beat.

You guys need to remember that last year's team started 6-4 with a loss to Charlotte. We have one of the best coaches in America and a young team. They'll be fine.

|6 weeks 1 day ago||His track record of hiring||
His track record of hiring football coaches, based on your examples, is far from terrible. Bobby Petrino had Arkansas ranked in the top 5 for part of his last year there, John L. Smith was a one-year-only hire after Petrino's motorcycle accident left Long scrambling (a PR disaster Long handled very well, by the way), and Bret Bielema was about the best a program in Arkansas' position (perennially bottom half of the SEC) could hope for. I don't know whether Long is my first choice or not, but his track record for hiring football coaches is actually something that I would consider an argument for hiring him.

I love Thornton and think he would be a perfect fit in Beilein's offense, but I'm afraid Cassius Winston (a top 50 in-state PG prospect) will pull the trigger before Thornton decides and go to MSU, and then Thornton will go to Kentucky. In that scenario, we get left in the cold. If Winston wants to come to UM, I hope we don't wait for Thornton to decide instead.

Soooooooo Mason Cole starting at Left Tackle probably isn't a great thing?
|18 weeks 6 days ago||What? Marcus Hall, you say?||
Why, it's just a totally random picture of no football player in particular that just so happens to be reenacting an exact thing that Marcus Hall did once. It's not Marcus Hall. #ncaa

that you have nothing to do than to be a jerk? He adds a lot more to this board than you do. If this is what he enjoys, let him post it.
|19 weeks 6 days ago||This is a pretty pessimistic||
This is a pretty pessimistic viewpoint. Davis can hit lead off like he's done at times this year, or Kinsler could move up a spot in the lineup. The bullpen has been a worry all year, but Soria has been very good this year and his first couple starts in Detroit could very well be an aberration. Either Verlander or Porcello will go to the pen for the playoffs, which will also help.

I think that's more the point I was trying to make. When I think of a "young" player, I think of a first or second year kid which, for the majority of the projected OL, isn't the case. Calling them "inexperienced" is pretty accurate.
|19 weeks 6 days ago||I don't understand talk about||
I don't understand talk about the OL being "young." Of the projected starters, there are two players entering their fourth year in the program, two entering their third, and one entering his second. That's not very young.

Oh no! Someone who doesn't have a good answer to the question I asked him compared my ability to understand things to a 14 year old instead!

I'd like to know more about where exactly Kobe and LeBron rank on the "is clutch" "is professional" and "has heart" scales, as well as how those rankings are calculated.

|21 weeks 6 days ago||I think what he's saying is||
I think what he's saying is that it seemed like the coaches were saving the last couple spots for recruits (like Hand and McDowell) they thought they would get, even at the expense of other recruits (like Montae Nicholson) that might've wanted to commit. Those spots ended up not being filled when UM missed on big targets at the end. If that's what he's saying, it's a fair point.
|26 weeks 6 days ago||I agree that the coaches have||
I agree that the coaches have a better idea of what they want than I do. I also think that he's not a make-or-break recruit for this class. I don't think it would be a big deal if UM didn't land him, regardless of how many stars he ends up with. Hopefully he goes to UM and proves me wrong.
|26 weeks 6 days ago||What did I say that was||
What did I say that was "assholery?" That based on his offer list, scouting reports, and my opinion of him as a prospect, I wouldn't consider it a huge loss if he chose MSU? What's "assholery" about that?
|26 weeks 6 days ago||So what?||
I think Big Mike's point is that, from a talent perspective, not landing him wouldn't be a huge loss.

I bet your sarcasm will totally convince him not to make comments about last year's OL that cost you an entire second to read. Good work.

I mean, he had the balls to cut Donovan. If he thinks Johannsson is a better option than Jozy, I don't think he'll hesitate to make that move. They seem like much different players to me, though.

I might be wrong, but didn't we win the last game on that trip?
|38 weeks 6 days ago||Just a guess||
But Nik picked up a foul pretty early on in the game. Maybe Beilein sat him sooner than normal so he wouldn't get a 2nd foul and have to sit out the whole half?
|39 weeks 5 days ago||I agree with you, but that's||
I agree with you, but that's something we already knew. My point is that this game doesn't equal impending doom like the UConn football game did, as the poster I responded to suggested.
