When Brian first brought up the idea of O$U hiring an outside firm to execute a full-scale marketing campaign to defame and distract Michigan, it sounded a little 'conspiracy theory'-ish. After seeing how this has played out over the last couple weeks, it's now pretty obvious Brian was right. Really hope the team can stay focused and this provides extra motivation to lay 100 on them in a few weeks. Go blue!
I'm excited to see how the undrafted and lower round guys do this season. Guys like Deveon Smith, Mike McCray, Jeremy Clark, Kyle Kalis, and Eric Magnuson.
Epke Udoh. He is definitely a 1st teamer here. He played for Beilein one season before transferring to Baylor. Apparently, he wasn't a fan of the Beilein system.
There are a total of 11 commits to either Michigan or Ohio that have offers from both schools. Michigan has 7 and Ohio has 4. It's great to see that Brady Hoke can go toe-to-toe with Urban 'Cryer' and dominate. Go blue!
I remember beating NC State a few years back when Julius Hodge was their star player and Herb Sendek was coaching the team. I'll be at the game tomorrow night hoping for the same result. Go blue.
For me, the hate started when ND thought they were too good to join the B1G. They make all their money from their undeserving, fat NBC contract and stuck their noses up at us. I feel the same way Bo feels about them. "To hell with Notre Dame."
so....I'm doing some math and can't figure out how we have room to add 3 scholarships next season (Walton, Irvin, Donnal). Plus, how will Hatch's scholarship affect the numbers? The only person who graduates is Vogrich and will will most likely not give McLiemans a 5th year. Without any attrition, where does the 3rd scholarship come from? Do we potentially not give Morgan a 5th year?
I was especially impressed with Spike and Nick. Spike will be a legitimate backup and will challenge Walton for the starting PG position next season. He does not play like a freshman and seems comfortable running the offense. We've all seen the hyped Stauskas youtube videos but seeing him in person gets me even more excited. He will be our best pure shooter since Glen Rice. I was a little disapointed with McGary. Given all the hype, I thought he'd dominate. I love his enthusiasm but he looked awkward on the floor and is certainly not a "one and done" type of talent. I thought he was the 4th best freshman last night. Overall, a great win and I can't wait to see them play against better competition.
That changes if Jake Ryan decides to go pro. Even though Jake isn't a senior, he is a redshirt Sophmore which means he can declare for the draft. PLEASE don't let that happen!!!!!
I'll never forget my senior year in 2001 when the Michigan Daily jumped the gun and filled the entire cover with a picture of Pitino, indicating he was coming to Michigan.
4 years ago, all of us would have agreed that our bball program would have been much better if we would have hired Pitino instead of Harvard-bound Tommy. Fast-forward to now, I'm happy everything worked out how it did. Even though we haven't made it past the second round of the NCAA tournament, it's been so much fun watching Beilein's teams exceeding expectations year after year. It's even more exciting now that we have top notch talent. Beilien was a great hire and we wouldn't have been in a position to hire him had Pitino accepted the position.
Select the Michigan game and close all the ads. Once you close all the ads, they will never pop up again and you'll be able to watch the entire game live. This site saved me when I was in Venice for the UMass game.
There is no reason Stanford should be ahead of us. Their two losses come against Washington and Notre Dame. Ours come against Notre Dame and Alabama. This is another case of a team getting punished for playing a more difficult schedule.
I hate to see him go but it's probably best for all parties. He's been a bit of a drama queen the entire time we've been courting him and it's better that we cut our losses now rather than later. I wish Dawson the best wherever he goes.
Last year we really only had 7 guys in the regular rotation: Burke, THJ, Novak, Stu, Morgan, Vogrich, and Smot. There were a couple of guys here and there that got in but nothing significant (once Horford got hurt). That's because (as many people already mention) there is a huge drop off to the next guy coming off the bench. There was always a noticable drop off when guys like Eso Akunne and McLimans came in.
This year, we have so much more depth. It's safe to say that at least three freshman will be in the regular rotation. Adding them to Burke, THJ, Morgan, Vogrich, and Horford, we now have at least 8 guys who will play (barring injuries).
If we're complaining about Kovacs making one tackle on Saturday, we've clearly forgotten what it was like to watch Obi Ezeh for three straight years at linebacker.
Last month, the Tigers officially announced V-Mart was done for the season. They want him to make a full recovery and be 100% for the start of spring training next year.

Wow...Can't believe Brian Cole is the #6 safety. Too bad we couldn't keep him around.
Didn't he blame sleep apnea for ruining his sophomore season at Michigan?
That would be a death blow
Doesn't seem right. What was Michigan State ranked last year when we beat them the first time?
I'm excited to see how the undrafted and lower round guys do this season. Guys like Deveon Smith, Mike McCray, Jeremy Clark, Kyle Kalis, and Eric Magnuson.
Shea Patterson only played in 3 games his freshman year....Just saying
Would they have even been in the top 50?
Why isn't there a tiel border around our WRs?

then Ty Isaac and Laquon Treadwell.
In all seriousness, I'm most excited to see if Kugler can win the starting Center position.
Before opening this thread, I thought this was going to be about Austin Hatch competing in the X-games.

I hope he isn't getting Ray Lewis' deer antler spray.
He'll fit right in with our last few pothead draft picks. Maybe he can eat marijuana crumbs with LeShoure in his car.
Caris LeVert is really good.

When Roundtree decided to commit to Michigan, was it Danny Hoke who called Rich Rod a snake oil salesman?
Maryland only competes in seven collegiate sports. Will they just not compete in certain sports and there will be less than 14 teams?
...and don' t they have a guy projected to be a lottery pick?
They should re-hire Lane Kiffin after USC fires him. Then in two years when USC rehires Lane Kiffin, Tennessee can bring back Phil Fulmer.

You P-L-A-Y to win the game
I'm willing to look past it this time. This is really a great article.

I bet Lewan is also a unanimous 1st team seleciton for the all-penalties team.
DBs: marlin jackson, ryan mundy, james hall, morgan trent

There is no way Braxton is faster than Denard.
What would have happened if Denard had played in a Lloyd Carr pro-style offense? Would he have been as good as Desmond? Would he be returning kicks?

I fully expect that Michigan will be a national chamionship contender. That would be nice to play in a home national championship game.
I'd like to take a dump on the steps of the golden dome.
Apparently, Nick Sabans leadership skills don't extrapolate to fatherhood.

Glad big Mo Didn't listen to his dead beat SEC father. He will become a much better man at Michigan in the B1G.
Dantonio is too boring.
"That's a dang coaching mistake...the kids are playing their tail off, and the coaches are screwing it up!"
Can we also put the uniforms behind us? These uniforms were almost as ugly as the ones we wore during the State game last year.
This game was scheduled before Dave Brandon took the helm. Can't pin this on him
