woodson We need DB help the most, and someone who can catch a punt. its gotta be Woodson
unforced The unforced TO's are definitely what have killed us. The hits they have fumbled on were not all that hard. At this point I dont think Denard is strong enough to hold the ball vs hitting/stripping LB's twice his size. A year with Barwis should correct some of the ball dropping.
playing immediately i agree with pushing him to play with Tate right away, kind of like they're sprinkling in Denard this year. See how he does. If this happens, Denard should definitely be moved to slot where he can have the ball in his hands in space. Thats when we'll have more explosive bubble screens.
good post I've been wanting them to run a speed option for awhile now and I hope they pull it out this year. I dont think they will need it for IL, but hopefully vs WI or OSU. Especially when run with Denard this could be very effective.
my prediction We have to remember that Juice smoked our defense last year, a defense some say was better than this years. So while I think Illinois will be able to score, they don't have enough firepower to win. Their defense is worse than ours, and our running game should dominate. UM wins 31-21.
BG He became every bit the blue chip he was supposed to. Heres to a great career Brandon! Thanks
example Cissoko was the perect candidate for RR to set an example with the team. RR made it look like he was giving Cissoko every opportunity to come back, when really RR knew he would screw up again. In the end, this has no effect on investigation. Most everyone has already been interviewed. Cissoko would be hurting his transfer chances to a good school if he starts to attack his coaches now.
name I hope they do see him like Nick Saban. His recruiting has been excellent and they're at the top of the polls. Once UM gets back towards the top of the standings in the big ten, higher rated recruiting classes will follow.
warren I agree with you that he looked hurt last week and probably still is. With the problems we've had at DB, I'm not sure RR wants to announce that Warren is not 100%. I don't believe Juice will be able to exploit Warren, even if he is dinged up.
IL I watched parts of their games this year on BTN and they look like UM did last year. The offense is dysfunctional. Its hard to understand what happened to Juice. Everyhing looked promising for him coming into this year. Hopefully this isn't the week he figures it out. GO BLUE
defense With Woolfolk showing improvement, JT Turner coming in, along with Emilien and possibly a recruit like Cullen Christian, we could definitely see a greatly improved backfield next year. If Warren stays another year, our DB's could actually turn into a strength. If RR can close on christian and one other DB, our defense has great potential.
warren Warren would be someone I would list under the "cant afford to lose" title. If we can keep him for his last year, it would give them time to develop a couple of the young DB's and have another recruiting cycle to find a good one. Please stay!
siked I didn't know they would show it on NBC later. Thanks for the info!
standing vs cheering I dont think standing is necessary but making noise is. Aren't we tired of other teams saying the big house isn't intimidating? Aren't we tired of tv broadcasters saying michigan is quiet compared to other, smaller stadiums. i live out of state and can only make a game or two per year, unfortunately. when i do go i get irritated at all of the people around me sitting on their hands and only making noise when something great happens or we score a touchdown. Where's the enthusiasm? With 100,000+ we should be one of the loudest stadiums in the country but aren't because of how many fans sit quietly like they are watching a play on a stage. A louder stadium directly effects the other teams offense and can help our team. I don't have a problem if you want to sit the entire game, but show some emotion for your team...make some noise!
cullen needed we definitely need some talent and depth in the defensive backfield, especially with cissoko's dismissal. hopefully RR can close this deal.

patience my friends patience is needed in these dark times, something we michigan fans seem to have trouble with. USC had a few down years and look how dominant they are now. once we have players with experience and dont have to count on freshman as much, the consistency and ball control will improve. hang tough, bleed blue, just give them some time.
talent vs execution RR has said many times over the past couple weeks that we just need better execution and i agree. you dont need three superstar receivers to run this offense. you just need everyone to run the right route and for the QB to make the right read on the defense. i think the latter is where we're lacking. we have plenty of talent but little experience, therefore, inconsistent results. we will see improvement. prediction: next years QB's #1 Forcier, #2 Gardner(assuming he signs), Denard will move to slot and become a percy harvin type receiver
love the show, hate the move i loved the show when it was on network tv and watched it religiously. i hate that they've moved it to satellite only. i guess i'll have to try and find the episodes on the internet
side note on iowa preface for this comment: i was at iowa game and had a-hole fans around me. i think it would be great if iowa went undefeated and got left out of national championship game. could happen if texas and either florida/alabama go undefeated. sweet justice for snatching our upset bid.
starting Sheridan wastes Tate's learning opportunities No to Sheridan at QB, we all saw how that experiment went. Denard should be a slot receiver and probably will if we sign Gardner for next year. Let Tate take all the reps because they will sprinkle in Gardner next year just like they're using Denard this year. Tate needs all the looks and experience he can get to become more comfortable in the offense; this will lead to expansion in the playbook and more offensive creativity.
downfield passing Not only have we lacked the ability to pass consistently, but they are all short yardage plays. Once in awhile you have to set up a formation to get stonum or hemingway 1 on 1 on the outside and stretch the field. Teams don't seem too concerned about the deep threat and that really hurts the run game. As the young players gain experience, along with a few explosive recruits, I am excited about the possibilities of this offense!
