Who are you to be using foul langauge and calling people names. The people who were too lazy and complacent to speak up are the ones who should be ashamed. The ignorant ones who defended such poor performance should be quiet. The weaklings who suppressed those who care about the University of Michigan and have a committment to higher standards, those weaklings are the traitors to a long and honored tradition.
The question of who was right or wrong in this debate was clearly settled by the decsion of Dave Brandon and Brady Hoke. Those who had the courage to speak up, whether they lost silly points or not, now stand justified.
|9 weeks 21 hours ago||My theory||
My theory is that that Dave called Brady and said, "I've been reading the well reasoned evaluations that BIGBLUEWORLD has been posting about Al, and it makes a lot of sense."
Then Brady said, "Son of a gun. I was just reading his comments, and he's right. You know some of those other dimwits even took points away from him for having the courage to speak up. We gotta' do something about this!"
Then Dave replied, "I'm with you, dude. Got anyone in mind."
Then Brady says, "Well you know..."
And the rest is history.
That's my theory.

Michigan at #2 or #3 most valuable college program was becoming a declining asset. Good investment by Dave Brandon.
Leadership quality and winning attitude is priceless.

"unsubstantiated rumor" and ""emphasis on rumor" is clearly not quoting anything. Is it? Keep it straight.
But now that you mention catapult, Johnny of Jimmy could catapult Michigan into the Empyrean heights of college football in a heartbeat. Do you want to try to tell me stranger things have never happened?
Thank you. Seriously, cool dog BiSB.

With emphasis on rumor, this comes from Ace Williams.

The best news I have to offer is an unsubstantiated rumor [from Ace Williams that is certainly fabricated because it came from Ace Williams.]
\grasping at straws
ED:BISB - NO ACE WILLIAMS.

I don't need to hear any comments about this. I was there watching Bo lead his team.
|10 weeks 5 days ago||I agree||
I agree you can make a case to support Hoke and Mattison. That's all I've got to say.

This reminds me: Someone needs a sense of humor.
Through the quantuum mechanics Law of Reciprocity, off topic comments on off topic posts coherently transform to attain the state of "On Topic". Forgot that, didn't you?

This reminds me: We need a new OC.
|12 weeks 2 days ago||Any thoughts||
Any thoughts on a pro OC or former pro OC who might be available? We're doing fine with Mattison. How about finding an OC of his caliber. We'd be looking reeeeal good if we acquired such a coach. Just sayin'.

Jeffy re: "whining bitches". We're rubber, you're glue. It bounces off us and sticks to you.
Nevertheless, it's a free country. You can extend your warm affection towards Al.
|12 weeks 2 days ago||Thanks for showing care||
Thank you for showing care and realistic expectation for improving this football team, westwardwolverine, Magnum. P.I. and the many others who keep it civil yet speak up.
I strongly yet respectfully disagree with the "business as usual crowd" who are resigned to an erratic, inefficient offense. Do you have mixed emotions about winning? Are you short selling Michigan stock?
How can anyone be complacent when we have a good head coach, a good defensive coordinator, a great tradition, national alumni and fan base. Then there's the offensive coordinator who uses double speak to blame the players for his lack of leadership. Hoke's experience is primarily with defense. We need a strong OC with leadershp quality and the ability to make halftime adjustments that work.
How do we know he lacks leadership? The results speak for themselves. "By their fruits ye shall know them." If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it's a duck. With due respect for Al's effort, he is failing. Why should we, especially the players, all be dragged down to his level of failure?
|12 weeks 2 days ago||How do I know?||
Just so happens, I work for the NSA. We tapped Al's phone. Here's a verbatim transcription of his conversation:
"Yeah, I know harping on 'Execution' is a sneaky way to deflect responsibility, but if I don't shift the blame to the players, peple might start pointing out my obvious faillings. Oh wait, they already do. Well okay, maybe I should go cry to Brady about being loyal to me. Oh wait, he said that he, "cares about the kids", and since I'm not doing a good job for them, he might put them first. Then where would I be? Maybe I should take responsibility and show some leadership. Let's see, how do you spell that: Leeddrshyp? Liedirshipp? Oh never mind, who needs it.
Anyway, the real reason we scored in that loss to Ohio is because when Heiko interviewed me, I picked his brain about how to run a screen play, and darned if it didn't work! Yeah, too bad it took me three years. I bet I'll be able to make excuses and drag ass around here another year or two, even if it means I drag everyone else down with me.
I'm getting my money while the gettins' good. Got it all figured out."
He also called some terrorists in Yemen, but that's classified. We can release this recording because anyone with a brain knows this is what's going on. It's no secret at all.
|12 weeks 2 days ago||Let's be objective||
Hoke has a sense of integrity and is a great recruiter.
Mattison shold have been named DC of the year in 2011.
We are one good OC away from having an exciting year in 2014.
If we get an OC with "Leadership" ability, in the immortal words of Iggy: "We will have a real cool time."
The introduction to Werner Heisenberg's Physics and Philosophy states: "Knowledge of the future state may be obtained either by waiting until it arrives or by having seen the future or final state of similar systems in the past."

Winners overcome obstacles to achieve their goals.
Hoke has a winning attitude.
Mattison is a proven winner.
Let's see, am I forgetting anyone?
|12 weeks 2 days ago||Leadership||
Leadership is the key. Don't you see?
Rather than arbitrarily pick one word, how would you respond to the central point? Do you think Bo would approve of Al's leadership characteristics? I didn't like Al's latest comments about "execution", surreptitiously blaming the players, rather than taking responsibility.
You have a right to extend your affection towards Al. I have a right to speak up about a coach's responsibility to the football players.
|12 weeks 2 days ago||Does anyone see||
Does anyone see what Al Borges is doing?
We know his play calling is poor. But it's more than x's and o's. He is destroying the mental toughness and conpetitive spirit of these young football players. Al has no swagger; they have no swagger. Al is conflicted about strategy; they hesitate. Al is not a tough man; they lose tougness.
Watching the MGOBLUE clips, you sense these kids have a good attitude. You want to see them do well. They deserve a coach who gives them the opportunity to enjoy this once in a lifetime experience and do the best they are able.
Al lacks leadership; he is not living up to his responsibility. You might disagree, but try telling Eisenhower or Schembechler or Lombardi that leadership isn't critical.
We hear how players must compete to be on the field. This football season is a disappointment for alumni and fans, but it's worse for these kids who work so hard, risk injury and play their hearts out. Al borges is not doing his job at a competitive level. There is no reason for him to be anywhere near that field of honor.
Hoke and Mattison are winners. If they keep the weak link, he will drag everything down.

|14 weeks 14 hours ago||Leadership||
There's one quality every winning coach, general, teacher, whatever, must have: Leadership.
I get the sense coach Hoke has that quality. So does coach Mattison.
Let's see, did I forget anyone?
|14 weeks 5 days ago||Thanks for the blog||
I mostly just read, but this is a good source for info and opinions.
I know it seems weird when you write something about football and someone comes back with a personal attack. A lot of people sitting at a keyboard like to pick a fight they would never have the guts to start in real life. Or they play the opposite game just to be difficult.
My suggestion: Don't be afraid to let things flow.
I agree with Brian that no one should never get comfortable with losing.
Thanks to all those associated with the blog.

Al lacks leadership quality. We're much better off without him.
