No.  Here is how they look…

No.  Here is how they look side by side.  Big 12 only ahead of big 10 in 3 places.

The depth chart by class is…

The depth chart by class is rarely up to date and accurate. Used to be a good resource. Probably wouldn’t work logistically, but if they aren’t going to update maybe they could open source it and the board could maintain.

More small formatting nit…

More small formatting nit picks than bugs but;

  1. More clear break between front page posts.  I believe the old site had a thicker blue line.  The thin yellow line is not very noticeable when scrolling down to see what new posts there are.
  2. I would prefer the post title to be above the initial picture of front page posts.
  3. Less Diaries showing on the front page sidebar.  Right now there is one from 2 months ago and 3, almost 4, from one month ago.
  4. More message board threads on the main page.  Opposite issue from the diaries section.
  5. Not a fan of the tiles at the top.  Just takes up unnecessary space in my opinion.
The Dez play should not be

The Dez play should not be ruled a catch using Brian's rules.  He catches the ball in the air and then takes two steps which count towards getting two feet down.  He then goes to the ground and the ball is knocked loose.  There is no step between getting both feet down and going to the ground.

Turns out losing tackles

Turns out losing tackles doesn’t matter when they are allowed to hold without impunity.

I'm amazed noboby was

I'm amazed noboby was screaming about it on Michigan's sideline.  A very obvious mistake that could have been very costly.

Don Brown

Don Brown, the Boston detective who plays by his own rules in pursuit of justice.  Finally, he gets his man in the interrogation room only to have the DA say they need to cut him loose resulting in the reaction above.

Play by Play

The play by play (based on extended mgoblue video).

- Gary stands up Bredeson and tosses him aside to tackle - win Gary
- Ron Johnson gets stalemated by Hall at the line and then gets turned and walled off - Win Hall
- Spanellis gets some push on Marshall.  Marshall slides off late with a slight hold by spanellis.   Hold may not have affected the play - win Spanellis
- Winovich gets blown off the ball by Owenu - Win Owenu
- Hall pancakes #2 (Jeter or Kemp)- Win Hall
- Anthony Kay gets pushed back into the running back by Salim Makki - Win Makki
- Ron Johnson stalemates Spanellis, disengages early and pulls him by, but guessed the side, and was incorrect - Win Spanellis
- Kulger gets a little push on Hurst but Hurst is able to desengage for the tackle - Win Hurst
- Gary gets push on Bushell-Beatty and deisengages to tackle - Win Gary
- Kulger blows Reuben Jones off the line and walls him off - Win Kulger
- Runyan blows Corey Malone-Hatcher off the ball Malone-Hatcher is able to disengege as the back goes by getting in a poor tackle attempt - Win Runyun
- Hall turns and walls off Jones - Win Hall
- Cole blows Winovich 5 yards off the ball - Win Cole
- Kemp blows Hall back into the running back - win Kemp
What if Harbaugh didn't comment

A couple thoughts.

1) He was probably surprised and disappointed when Harbaugh agreed to participate.  He probably would have rather written the narrative he wanted with a blip about how Harbaugh refused to comment.  (imagine the article without Harbaughs portion)

2) The timing (a couple weeks out from signing day) is probably not a coincidence.  Article reads as an excuse to say "remember this horrible thing Harbaugh did".

3) Funniest part was the line about Finebaum being outraged.  His hypocrisy knows no bounds.

Defensive line and holding

Could have been a bunch more sacks if not for all the holding going on.  Go and count the number of holds in the Gedeon Sack GIF.  This seemed to be a regular occurance all game.

What the fuck is targeting?

Then what the fuck is targeting?  Northwestern player hits Rudock while he is sliding with the crown of his helmet, targeting called on the field and it is overturned.  James Ross hits a Northwestern player with his facemask, targeting.  Michigan player is thrown onto a MSU player facemasks collide, targeting. Minnesota playe goes up high on Rudock after he releases a pass and hits his facemask, no targeting.  Minnesota player hits Rudock as Rudock is sliding feet first, helmet to helmet contact takes Rudock's helmet off, no targeting.  Who the hell can explain to me what targeting is?  The officials obviously have no idea.

Take as many visits as you want

The kid has every right to take visits elsewhere.  It goes both ways, players decommit from schools, but there are also instances where a coach tells a player there is no longer room for them or cut off contact in hopes the player will decommit.  The player and coach both have the right to protect themselves from these situations.  In the coaches case even if they have a spot filled for the class they will stay in touch with other interested recruits just in case the player decommits.  The player needs to protect themselves by having a backup plan in case they are not allowed to join the class.

I am not saying that I think Harbaugh would ever do this to a player.  I do not think any of the players left out to dry thought the coach they committed to would ever do it to them either.  Onewnu has seen firsthand with the Webber situation how a coach can be deceitful and act with only his own interests in mind.  He may be just trying to protect himself as best he can from a similar situation.

Fire Borges

Not only does Borges call plays our offense has proven they are not capable of executing time and time again, he calls them against a defense that has game planned to stop these things.

We cannot run the ball, Nebraska is in an 8 man front the majority of the game, and Borges runs the ball anyway.  Our offensive line/running backs are not good at pass protection, Nebraska blitzes the majority of the game, and Borges calls long developing pass plays.  It is like Borges is calling plays with no thought given to his team’s strengths and weaknesses or the defenses game plan at all.

Agree

If you hate our players that much go root for a different team or turn the TV off.

This shows the difference

This shows the difference between Michigan and MSU.  After the incident Long grabs Mathews and I can only assume lets him know this is not acceptable.  Meanwhile its high fives for the MSU players.

On both the O and D line

On both the O and D line leverage is the name of the game, from what I have seen he stands up initially instead of firing out low.  Until he does this with regularity I do not see him making an impact on either side of the ball.

Devin playing time over Tate

First Denard should start and play until the game is out of hand.

The second man in after Denard should be DG.  if we are going to burn DG's redshirt he needs to play and get experience.  DG is likely the future starter of this team at some point while Tate is likely going to spend most of his time as a backup.  Once in the big ten schedule the opportunities to get DG good playing time will be almost non-existant.  I would not be upset at all to see DG get all of the backup snaps.

RR and the state of michigan

To me it seems that RR holds his players to a very high standard and that may very well scare away many 5 star recruits that want to rely on their natural talent and coast through collage with the sole purpose of reaching the NFL.  I for one am willing to accept this because it is exactly this attitude that has turned 3 star recruits by West Virginia into five star talent.  And when you do come across a five star recruit that is up to the challenge, a la Brandon Graham, those five star talents will turn into absolute studs.  The more cases like Brandon Graham that occur the more recruits will realize that while it may be tough, Michigan may be the best school to prepare them for the next level.

Granted I would not be happy with records or recruiting classes that West Virginia put up under RR, but I believe that once RR gets things rolling, that combined with Michigan's tradition will lead to dominance.  Look at the recruiting classes he has put up after terrible losing seasons and he still is able to put together pretty good recruiting classes.

in summary I would rather have a group of lesser rated individuals who i knew were going to give it 100% effort than higher rated players who were more concerned about getting by with the lest amount of effort possible.

Long time reader fist time posting. I apologize if I seem to be all over the place.  I have been reading about how RR job is in question for a while now and believe that it will take time and the worst thing that can be done is to change coaches again and start all over.
