This is very simply taking the easy way out. No mother wants to see her son do that.
|13 weeks 5 days ago||Fits||
Seems appropriate that a big QB should have the biggest QB # within the commonly accepted QB range of numbers (old 98 aside).
|13 weeks 5 days ago||Right with You||
That would be awesome, wouldn't it?
Two former M QB's battling it out in the Super Bowl would be awesome. They are both great competitors.

Jimmy H vs. Stinky Pete and in the main event Touchdown Tommy Brady vs. Peyton

Next year, please?
|13 weeks 6 days ago||Classy||
Classy farewell to Dan D. by Bryant Gumbel. Very well done.
What a great Michigan Man and class act.
|13 weeks 6 days ago||Funny||
After the bowl game, I had no hope that it would ever happen again.
Strangely, I now believe it is right around the corner. Not sure why.
|13 weeks 6 days ago||Sorry||
I stand corrected.
I should have known better.
|13 weeks 6 days ago||Karsch Deserves It||
If true, Karsch really does deserve it.
He has the passion for the Wolverines, he is very interesting, and is a fair and class act.
In the vast wasteland of sports talk radio, he is able to run a very interesting show without turning it into a classless garbage dump, nor tabloid lie-fest.
|13 weeks 6 days ago||Recall||
I seem to recall him doing some substitute play-by-play for the Tigers and Pistons.
I believe it has been Eli's dream to be a play-by-play guy, but it has never been realized obviously.
|13 weeks 6 days ago||Nevermind||
Pats got it under control - their new holder is way too good!
|13 weeks 6 days ago||Tenuous||
This is starting to smell like a Colts comeback victory as much as I hate to say it.
|14 weeks 1 day ago||Very Interesting||
It is going to be very interesting to watch the clash between Nussmeier and Narduzzi.
It will be interesting to see if we finally have an answer to the A gap blitz.
|14 weeks 1 day ago||Mattison||
Mattison is the one who took the lateral downgrade - when he left Michigan in 1996!
|14 weeks 2 days ago||Tag Line Change||
I can't handle it. Even the MgoBlog Banner tag line has changed!
Never thought this evening would be this action packed.
|14 weeks 2 days ago||Combination||
Combine this great OC news with Brian's hope-filled defensive analysis for an experience laden 2014 defense and you get a POSBANG!
|14 weeks 2 days ago||Well||
Well, that couldn't have possibly gone better!
Hopefully, this is a strong signal that the bold and confident Hoke from the beginning of his tenure has returned.

When M switched from Nike to Adidas, I switched as well. Under great criticism from my wife, who had been trying unsuccessfully for years to get me to switch only to have M's switch be the motivating factor.
I see no difference in quality between the two manufacturer's merchandise, and had been noticing a steady decline in Nike quality for years before the switch.
I am enjoying my new M climalite Adidas hoodie, and it is keeping me very warm in these Arctic temperatures. Also, I think the styling of the Adidas M gear is getting better, but could stand even more improvement.
|14 weeks 5 days ago||Been There||
I have been there myself many times.
I hope you feel better. Get some rest, my friend.
|14 weeks 5 days ago||Proud and Excited||
I think that M women's basketball is starting to show that they have something special in the works. They are extremely competitive, have beaten some very tough teams, and have some close losses against some very good teams.
I also think Coach Barnes-Arico is showing that she is the real deal.
We should all be proud and excited by this dominant road win over the Buckeyes.
|15 weeks 1 day ago||Finally||
Finally, a reason for some optimism. I think the 2014 defense could be good enough to carry the team, a bit, and take some pressure off of the offense. Then, a senior Devin could make enough plays to make some of the close losses from this year into wins.
I am not sure if I completely believe it, but I am going to grasp on to this theory as my hope for 2014.
|15 weeks 3 days ago||Absolutely Correct||
You are absolutely correct, and your post gives awesome insight.
I have been screaming this to anybody who will listen over the past several years of Michigan Football Transition Nightmare.
Sadly, it is mostly met with blank stares.
Here's to hoping that the powers that be in the AD figure it out in 2014!
|15 weeks 3 days ago||This Place is Awesome!||
I never like to wish time away because it is truly a blessing, and goes by too fast as it is.
However, I am really looking forward to 2014, and all that lay in store in the New Year.
No matter how dire the sports situation gets in football, there is always plenty of excellence to point to within the University of Michigan. For that, I am always thankful.
Also, I am thankful for this blog and all of your insightful comments, though I may not agree with all of them. It has really helped me keep my sanity throughout this football season.
Happy New Year to all!
|15 weeks 4 days ago||We Need a Michigan Man to Coach Michigan||
I truly believe that we need a 'Michigan Man to coach Michigan."
However, your post points directly to where the problem is. 40 years of inbreeding has caused us to forget what the true meaning of being a Michigan Man really is.
It is not three degrees of separation minumum to somebody in the program, nor having coached or played at Michigan in the past.
It is a coach who is honest, honorable, cares about the players, follows the rules, innovative, and one of the top in his field.
It is the same definition for football coach as any other position in this great university. That is always why it has been so great.
|15 weeks 5 days ago||Throwing Stones||
It is always easy to throw stones at the leader and the captain when things do not proceed as planned.
Two-time All-American, two-time Big Ten OL of the year, and M captain. M man who turned down millions of dollars (at least delayed) to support his team and pursue an ellusive Big Ten championship.
He gave everything he could, failed, and let frustration get the better of him a few times. It happens to the best of us. I am sure he learned some tough leadership lessons along the way.
I, for one, was happy to see somebody as frustrated as me over this season, even though I do not necessarily agree with the mode of expression.
We should always be proud of those who decide to stay, even if they cannot be champions.

I can hear all of the excuses now: need time to gell, youth, experience. With this staff, I can see the same nightmare we've lived on the inside, being revisited on the outside. And you are right, the interior issues will be improved, but not all magically disappear.
|15 weeks 5 days ago||Unfortunately||
Unfortunately, that is where this program is at right now.
|15 weeks 5 days ago||Agree||
As chart says, NOT ONE three and out!
|15 weeks 5 days ago||No Clue||
Most uninspiring defensive game plan I have seen in a long time. I worry that quality players will not want to play in such milktoast schemes. This Mattison D was supposed to be aggressive, confusing for the other team, and high pressure.
Instead, our team looks confused and just waiting to react.
Our DBs could not possibly be more lost. And they are NOT inexperienced players.
Something is drastically wrong here, and its approaching GERG proportions really fast.
