Um, no

No thanks.

I am amused by what Oregon does with their uniforms, but that is Oregon's thing.  We don't need Oregon's thing, we've got our own thing.

Same risks today? I would hope that we've all gotten a little wiser since the days of football in the Seventies. The equipment, medical science, and training have improved such that I would HOPE the game is safer these days. At its elite levels though, the athletes are stronger and faster than ever before, and that might offset some of the advances in player safety. But I think that at the youth and high school level, the game is as safe as it has ever been. Would it still have risks? Of course. And by the way, I think the way permanently injured and disabled former football players have been treated by the NFL and the NFLPA is disgraceful. One can only hope that with the new leadership in both camps, they can step up and share some of the enormous wealth generated by today's game with those players of yesterday who helped make it all possible.
Nice article This is a really nice way to wrap up the season. This type of wrap-up is something I think that was lacking from UM sports information for some teams at the end of a season. A lot of times in years past there would be nice mgoblue features during the volleyball season, but the end would come and all the page would show is "no upcoming events." This series is a nice way to wrap up a great season, and I'm looking forward to reading the final part of it tomorrow. Good job, Mr. Fancett!
The CCAA CCAA - The Central Collegiate Athletic Association Add a 12th team, withdraw the hockey programs from the CCHA and include ice hockey in the new conference.
Texas I'd love to see a home-and-home series with Texas. I remember the pre-game to the Rose Bowl a few years back -- I had so much fun tailgating with the Texas fans. Great fans, at least all of the ones that we were around.
Well Done Michigan Volleyball Sad and disappointing end to a great season tonight. Really proud of how this team played this year. 2009 sets another high point for Michigan Volleyball. This senior class is going to be tough to see go, and good luck to them all. They have represented Michigan to the highest standard. Hope to see a Penn State-Minnesota final.
Television ESPN U has the match
Great Match Lexi owned Stanford's middle blockers all night. They seemed confused and were always late in closing their blocks. She really makes Hunt and Paz so hard to stop on the outside. While Bruck's statistics weren't all that great, I think she still had a solid match. Some of the battles she won at the net seemed to come in key spots, and really helped Michigan maintain the momentum. Is it just me, or does it seem like the Michigan block has gotten very good, in a big hurry? All season, it seemed like they couldn't block anyone, and now they seem to be getting key blocks at great times. All in all, a great match. So happy with the way they played tonite. I hope they've got another big match in them tomorrow for Hawaii. By the way, at the end of the stream, the (horrible) announcers mentioned there will be no streaming tomorrow, only the TV broadcast on ESPNU at 11:30 EST. GO BLUE -- BEAT THE RAINBOW WAHINE!
Parking Info Posted As usual, parking at Keen looks like it will be an adventure. MGOBLUE added some useful parking tips to their NCAA regional info page at: http://www.mgoblue.com/sports/w-volley/spec-rel/vbw-ncaareg2009.html. I usually will park up at the Coliseum at Hill & Division if the main lot is full though. Looking forward to some great volleyball this weekend. GO BLUE!
