Go Blue!!!

I have the biggest, dumbest smile on my face and it ain't coming off for days.

Extremely true, with many…

Extremely true, with many knock-on effects. I coach several sports at an Ann Arbor middle school, and more and more the kids with talent don't even come out to play for their schools; they just do their travel leagues (or, worse, the high schools allow them to participate with their teams against MHSAA rules). This creates a situation where not only are the best players not playing for the schools, but the other students who could have learned a lot from those players are deprived of that opportunity. The result then is often teams that aren't very good where many of the kids get frustrated and quit because it's just not fun to be on a bad team.

I would not be surprised at all to see middle school baseball and/or softball get cut in the AAPS in the next 10 years.

I was in the '02 CHS class with Carl; played football with him for a year at Huron. Solid dude. It was very fun watching him when he got on the field at Michigan.

My two favorite players right there.

I always get a crazy sense of jealousy and admiration when one of the contemporary players gets to spend time with the school's legendary players. It just seems like it would be one of the damn coolest parts of being at Michigan.

I live right near there and I

I live right near there and I tried it a couple times but, simply put, their burritos were horrible. I say were because they closed.

"WHAAAAAAT!?"

If you're on S. Main headed

If you're on S. Main headed towards the Stadium, you can usually find parking in the neighborhoods off of Scio Church (left turn at traffic light opposite the golf course).

Always wondered?

Here you go:

"The song was written at the same time as The Wall, hence its copyright date of 1979, and was originally intended to be part of that album, but was rejected by the other members of the band on the grounds that it was too personal."

I really want to beat Bruce

I really want to beat Bruce Pearl.

But only after the largest

But only after a brutal tsunami following the largest earthquake in the recorded history of an area of the world known for earthquakes. I believe the original point here is that people will point to this as a reason not to build nuclear powerplants in, say, Nebraska, where an event like this is practically an impossibility.

There is, it's called FERPA.

"Generally, schools must have written permission from the parent or eligible student in order to release any information from a student's education record."

Penn State hat + Charles

Penn State hat + Charles Woodson Jersey?  Interesting combination given the venue.

And that would be the first

And that would be the first time somebody named Simms has hit a receiver in a loooooooong time.

I want to like RR too, but I

I want to like RR too, but I got really god damn frustrated when he wouldn't answer what his favorite restaurant  in Ann Arbor was.  That was bullshit.  Anyone else notice that bad call?  We can't have that kind of soft mentality in our program.  Man up.

People need an outlet to get

People need an outlet to get all emo about whatever else is happening in their lives.  They see their team lose, jump on the anti-RR bandwagon and feel better when they dispute any potential gains the team has made, all the while nitpicking every mistake the team made.

As has been said - most people didn't believe we could have won more than 7-8 games this year.  We got out to a decent start and won our early games against not great opposition.  Now we lose two games against legitimate top-20 teams and the sky is falling.  Chill out, people.

Well said

I like you.  Can we be friends?

Agreed, OP needs to

This thread is relevant to my interests

Much of what I feel would be obligatory has already been posted several times, such as RATM (particular deference to The Ghost of Tom Joad), Pantera, several rap acts such as T.I., Eminem, D12, etc.

However, I am noticing a distinct lack of Big Beat.  I don’t understand why this music isn’t more popular than it is.  One poster mentioned The Prodigy, which, hell yeah.  Omen, Spitfire, Breathe, Smack My Bitch Up, Firestarter

Others in this genre include The Crystal Method – Smartbomb, The Winner, and Name of the Game; and The Chemical Brothers - Under the Influence, Setting Sun, Let Forever Be, It Began in Afrika, and Galvanize.

From other genres, Marilyn Manson can be good; my favorites include Fight Song, This is the New Shit and Rock is Dead

Rob Zombie – Super Charger Heaven, Superbeast

Busta Rhymes – Break Ya Neck, Gimme Some More, This Means War!!, Iz They Wildin’ Wit Us

Who are you, Brennan Boesch?

Have to agree with Get My Gun

Have to agree with Get My Gun - the beat really works.

Where is your god now?

In case you are unfamiliar

In case you are unfamiliar with the Lostpedia website, http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/Numbers contains a wealth of information about The Numbers, some of which is mere speculation, but some is semi-canonical.

The Numbers were one of my favorite themes through the first two seasons.  I am at a point where I feel comfortable that they have been explained (albeit outside the show itself) well enough for me not to get all Hulked up if they aren't mentioned tonight.

Kim Jong-Il would do better.

Kim Jong-Il would do better.

Best of the season anyway.

Best of the season anyway.  Jacob/Flocke episode = plot driver, and it's about damn time.  Finally after the horrible start to this season, the characters are moving around, doing something.

Indiana. Basically my entire Indiana. Basically my entire extended family went there including both parents, and my brother was the Drum Major at IU for two years in 2000/2001. Been to a lot of games in Bloomington, and while their fans really don't seem to give a rat's ass, it's still a fun time and a great city.
I dig all flavors of rock, I dig all flavors of rock, love (some) rap/hip-hop, but my favorite music has to be Electronica and its derivations. The Prodigy, The Chemical Brothers, The Crystal Method, Rob Dougan, Infected Mushroom, Bjork, etc. all day long. I realize that these artists' types of music aren't wildly popular, but for the life of me I can't figure out why that is. I love it. Close second has to be Rage Against the Machine.
I have to say, I was very I have to say, I was very disappointed by Plastic Beach. I absolutely loved their self-titled and Demon Days albums, and this one just didn't do it for me at all. The only songs I don't skip over are Rhinestone Eyes (because the track on that song is brilliant) and On Melancholy Hill (which is okay, not great). Sweepstakes makes me want to bash my head against my desk. I think they just put way too many pointless/bad features on the album. There are only 4 songs there that don't feature another artist... that's excessive.
Based on what I saw tonight, Based on what I saw tonight, he's pretty much a beast. He ran through a ton of tackles, and trucked more than a few ND defenders.
But if he's right all the But if he's right all the time, can't he just start making willy-nilly predictions about how wildly successful Michigan will be next year?
Curiosity = peaked. Anything Curiosity = peaked. Anything shot at by "way to stay classy" and "not funny, at all" only to be deleted by the author ignites that itch to know more. Unfortunately, I do not expect to have the itch scratched, making it all the more enticing/aggravating.
3.Unless you were at the bar, 3.Unless you were at the bar, shut up! 7.You ND haters make me sick! You are so damn jealous that you could never get in. 8. By the way, Jimmy has a legitimate 3.4 average in college. Grade school is far from college. I myself, a teacher with a Masters Degree, did not do great in elementary school but thrived in High School and College! Priceless.
Beat me to it...

Beat me to it... OP's post was a really good read. Seriously, well done.
Well, there you go. You Well, there you go. You might want to consider putting a link to that quote in your original post to shut up skeptics like me.
From the onset, let me say From the onset, let me say that if your cause is legitimate then good luck with the auction. I realize that this is likely the perfect, receptive audience for your wares, but I really wonder if this the right place for this? In all honesty, with the presentation and the pleading it comes off sounding like more of a scam than a worthy cause. I can easily envision some yahoo posting an identical thread on the blogs and websites of every major college program about their beloved stars - and the money goes for a good cause! Reasonably priced! WHY AREN'T PEOPLE BUYING THIS STUFF? Not saying this is you, since you obviously have a fair number of mgopoints, but still... Brian's support would give your auction immediate legitimacy from the people who visit this board, and as is obvious with his recent support of the Cancer Kickers wristbands, he is willing to back products which go to a good cause. And really, if you're going to use his website as a platform to promote your cause, his support (or at least his approval) seems necessary. With a title like the one you chose, it just makes everything you said sound cheap and misleading.
It's easy to say that the It's easy to say that the worse team won tonight seeing as how they we handed them the ball *5* times and we were still fighting at the very end. It is less easy is admitting that many of those times were the result of our own poor play (which, as far as I can tell, detracts from our skill as a team). I am not at necessarily saying that we had no business being in that game, or that we were the worse team on the field - I'm not sure right now - but to say that it's not acceptable to lose to Iowa in this game and to say that it's even more frustrating that we lost because you feel they're overrated or worse than us or whatever... well, it sounds to me like you have forgotten 2008. Yes it is frustrating. Frustrating that we couldn't pull it out - not frustrating that we lost. At least, that's my take on it.
