Yes, I will cheer for…

Yes, I will cheer for Harbaugh and the Chargers.

I have no clue if the Chargers will win a Super Bowl while he's there, but I hope they do, as long as it's not at the expense of the Colts.

Yes, based on what I read…

Yes, based on what I read their commits and transfers can backout within 30 days without penalty. So Bama will likely need to move quickly in order to keep their players together. My mind immediately went to Domani as well when I saw the Saban news.

I emailed Lucas Oil’s ticket…

I emailed Lucas Oil’s ticket office and they said I cannot resell them via TicketMaster or any other site. Only transfer. Their explanation didn’t make any sense, so I won’t bother you with it, but it’s what they told me.

Trust me, I’m ticked about…

Trust me, I’m ticked about it. I bought them about a month ago thinking I was going to save a ton of money and I paid $100+ more than I needed to apparently. Kicking myself for that.

The two “national” CFB…

The two “national” CFB podcasts I listen to said that it was a TD or the call for it to stand was correct. I’m also vexed by why Klatt thinks otherwise, but I don’t really care either!

I’ve been to Lucas Oil many…

I’ve been to Lucas Oil many times, all in the upper areas, and there isn’t a bad seat up there.

There are specific sections for each school’s allotment, but aside from that it was a crapshoot. I can tell you based on last year you’ll likely be next to Michigan fans. It was Purdue’s home state last year and it was probably 70:30 UM fans. Last year tickets didn’t drop too much the day of the game. I think we maybe saved $20 per ticket vs buying right after OSU.

I’m going to be in section 640 this time around (right at midfield in the upper deck). Hope to see you there!

Like some have said, it…

Like some have said, it depends on where you’re coming from and where you need to go afterward. I cannot speak it how cheap the hotels are in these areas either, so I apologize for that.

I’d echo what some have said here already.

-Jackson (west) is cheap and has quite a few food options. Would be about 40 or so minutes from A2.

-Brighton (north) if you’re needing to be up that way and/or are flying out of DTW since it’s right next to I96. Would be about 20-30 minutes from A2.

-I’m, unfortunately, not familiar with much east or south of A2, so I can’t help ya there.

To me, it would mostly just…

To me, if OSU/Day hired his brother, it would mostly just be embarrassing for OSU. “OSU couldn’t beat them on the field, so Ryan had to go to his brother to hurt Michigan off the field” kinda thing.

I’m finally to the point of “wake me up when it’s done.” I don’t think this is going to amount to much aside from some minor/small suspensions and a probationary period.

I watched and I kept…

I watched and I kept thinking/saying "Why isn't PSU running more?" and "Allar looks... not good."

I already thought that PSU was a little fraudulent based on this year's stats and watching them play some games, but I'm fairly confident that they're not a very good team overall.

You should be able to watch…

You should be able to watch it on TV, tablet, phone, etc.

My wife said there were…

My wife said there were reports of cars in trees, semis overturned, etc. all along I-96 in Williamston. Safe to say I’ve never experienced a storm this severe.

Yup! I’m a Williamston…

Yup! I’m a Williamston resident and there are a lot of bad reports, specifically around I-96. Ingham county emergency services requested that people not call unless it was a major emergency because all resources were/are tied up.

If the reports that ND…

If the reports that ND wanted the ACC to bring in Stanford because of their rivalry is true, I don’t know why the B1G wouldn’t go for it. That would be so many of their (ND’s) rivals under one roof. USC, Stanford, Purdue, Michigan, and MSU. I’m probably not aware of a few there they may have with other schools too.

Looks like that link isn't…

Looks like that link isn't working. Try this.

100% agree. We were able to…

100% agree. We were able to nab a Camp Chef FTG600 griddle for $50(!) on clearance (it was a online order that was shipped to the wrong store) and it’s the best thing ever. The griddle top can be taken off so you can use it as a traditional grill but we haven’t tried that yet. Agree with your estimation of the cleanup time as well. We’ll never go back to a traditional grill again.

This is correct. You won't…

This is correct. You won't be able to watch it local on NBC. You will, unfortunately, have to stream on Peacock.

I think Harbaugh would want…

I think Harbaugh would want nothing to do with Jim Irsay, but who knows.

No thanks.

No thanks.

Eh, it’ll all work itself…

Eh, it’ll all work itself out, I’m sure. Not much point in paying too much attention until OSU.

I had this thought too, but…

I had this thought too, but the more I think about it, the more I lean that it won't change anything. Those schools will make more money in their new conferences and if they think they're good enough, they'll have solid shots at at-large bids. I also think that once the "super conferences" are established, the committee will drop from six conference champions to four (SEC, B1G, ACC, and B12/P12-whichever survives). Something I saw that I find interesting is that, based on the last few years' CFP rankings, there would be three-plus B1G and/or SEC teams in the playoff every season. We could easily see four or five teams from one conference in the playoff in a single year. So I don't see this being a problem for the teams that are moving.

TL;DR conferences could have a lot of teams in as at-large bids, so I don't think this'll be an issue.

Met her in college at a very…

Met her in college at a very small school. She worked at the library and, as a commuter, that was pretty much where I lived between classes. I knew her a bit before that, but being there all the time is what brought us together <nine> years ago. I feel very old saying that.

“We had subs, it was awesome…

“We had subs, it was awesome.”

I quote that fairly frequently and no one in my life knows what I am talking about.

1. Little bit of everything:…

1. Little bit of everything:

  • Within thirty minutes of my wife's and my workplaces. My wife is full-remote now, so it only applies to me.
  • Sizable yard - we were specifically targeting half an acre, plus.
  • Schools - we have two kids and a lot of the schools in the surrounding areas are poorly rated while our school district is rated decently. Not top of the line, but good enough for us.
  • Square footage - needed more bedrooms and space than our previous home.
  • Convenience - we are about 45 minutes from the in-laws and my mom and about 1.5 hours away from my dad. We are also within twenty minutes of multiple malls, grocery stores, etc. I specifically was trying to make sure we were within fifteen minutes of a Costco.
  • Price - the house was just beneath the max of our budget at the time.
  • Things I would change:
    • Layout - it's goofy as hell.
    • Neighbors - one of them is great, while the other barely takes care of their house/property and lets their dog poop all over our backyard.
    • Previous owners - neglected quite a bit so we've been slowly fixing stuff as we go. One of the big things was there was a ton of mold in the utility room that was never addressed. Thankfully we were able to clean it very quickly after we discovered it (someone hid it behind some random drywall panels that looked out of place, that's the only reason we found it).

2. Probably in-land South Carolina or Tennessee. I'm kinda over Michigan winters, but don't want to be in a horribly hot state. The lack of income tax in Tennessee has always been a draw for me.

Haskins hurdled that fool in…
  • Haskins hurdled that fool in the OSU game this year
    • At home which is nothing special, but I will never forget my feelings during that game. I don't really count when Hoke beat Fickell, so this was the first time Michigan had beaten OSU since I became a fan of football in 2005.
  • Trey Burke made "The Shot"
    • Probably at home again.
  • Braylonfest became Braylonfest
    • This happened the year before I really got into football.
  • "I can't believe this! Roy Roooundtree!"
    • At home, screaming at the top of my lungs and pissing off everyone in my home who was trying to sleep.
  • "TOUCHDOWN, MANNINGHAM! MICHIGAN WINS!"
    • At home again.
  • Jordan Poole ripped Houston's heart out
    • At home, but I had actually turned that game off with a few seconds left because I assumed we were going to lose and was too frustrated to keep watching. My friend texted me about it, so I turned it back on and was astonished.
  • Jabrill's Heisman return against Rutgers was called back by a bogus flag
    • I don't really remember this one at all.
  • DPJ streaked down the sidelines before hitting the Paul Bunyan pose.
    • At my in-laws, happy as can be.
Based on what I'm reading,…

Based on what I'm reading, Herbstreit is going to continue his College Gameday and broadcasting for ESPN while doing this.

Ghosting by employers has…

Ghosting by employers has been huge up until recently. I read a couple of articles about how recruiters and HR teams were very frustrated that prospective employees were ghosting them but I think that’s just payback. When I graduated six years ago I had dozens of interviews where I followed up about a week later and never heard from the company again.

I would assume MLB teams might be able to be more selective and therefore might be more active about keeping their prospects updated, but I don’t know.

Overall, he should still follow up about a week after each interview as it shows he’s motivated and keeps him at the front of their minds. Checking once a week is also not so frequent that it’s annoying.

Agreed. I had heard that…

Agreed. I had heard that this was an option earlier in the process. I thought it would be a great option.

I had heard Red Tails …

I had heard Red Tails (referring to the Tuskegee Airmen) was an option early on in the process and thought that would be awesome. Kinda sad to see that it appears they are no longer considering that.

Yoder would, he’s done it…

Yoder would, he’s done it before.

Yeah, he made the practice…

Yeah, he made the practice squad. With all the COVID issues Indy is having and a decent preseason, I think he may get called up a couple of times, especially with Hilton being hurt.

I have recently been calling…

I have recently been calling people “plebes,” especially while driving.

My dad has a QX60 and he…

My dad has a QX60 and he said he would recommend it for any driving conditions. He loves that thing and has to drive it in Michigan winters.

Based on my friend’s…

Based on my friend’s experience with his BMW, I’ll never own one. He was fixing or paying someone to fix something on it all the time and the repairs were expensive as hell based on the numbers he would throw out. That and I think BMW’s are a poor-man’s sport car which I don’t see the point in buying.

Welcome, Daylen!

Welcome, Daylen!

But can he play corner?

But can he play corner?

I'm not sure if the person…

I'm not sure if the person is referring to a Michigan football player playing in the B1G Title Game or not, but Mike Hart was also drafted by the Colts!

I would say “hell no” to one…

I would say “hell no” to one with family. My wife and I have discussed buying one for ourselves, which unfortunately would mean she would occasionally offer it up to her family members because she’s kind like that. I would tell my family to pound sand because I don’t trust any of them to not break something.

But if family is involved, you’re going to have a fun time deciding who fixes what when it’s broken and you can say “oh we’ll split it” because there’s going to be something that ONE family breaks or uses and therefore it’s going to be their problem to fix and then it’s just a bad time.

You also bring up remote work, but your family is probably thinking similarly that they’ll use it a lot to get away during the work day / week. Coming up with a schedule is another complication instead of it just being your place that you can go to whenever you want.

I’m not trying to be an ass, but shared assets within a family always cause drama.

I would continue to attempt…

I would continue to attempt to contact the officials at the school and hold my daughter home until they resolve the situation. If the school drags their feet or does not contact you by tomorrow, I’d call the police to get a report filed and ensure the school is taking it seriously. I would also consider getting an attorney for when they catch the asshole.

I don't see that happening,…

I don't see that happening, but I am not sure. Indiana has been a bit more lax on fans attending games than other states in the midwest, but I believe it is up to Big Ten. If they don't want to risk it, then I think they say "no fans" or "family-only."

This comment makes me sad,…

This comment makes me sad, but to each their own.

I work for a company that…

I work for a company that supplies non-food product to a lot of national fast food chains and frequently that 300 mile cap is because of costs. Shipping and freight are horribly expensive and once you get beyond 300 miles it’s pretty much unpalatable.

I’ve never had Raising Cane…

I’ve never had Raising Cane’s, though I’ve heard they’re excellent.

I like CFA, but it had to grow on me (had to have it three or four times before I liked it).

Popeye’s is solid, but I’ve only had it three times.

KFC is for when you want chicken and there’s nothing else offered in the area.

For burger joints, I’ve never had a lot of the places you mentioned, but I love me some Five Guys and Shake Shack is some of the best fast food I’ve ever had. Both have great burgers, but what made it for me was their fries. They’re both unique and delicious.

The Texans will not send…

The Texans will not send Watson to a division rival. There's just no way that's happening, though I would love it if it did.

I find it more likely they will try to get Wentz, draft someone in the first round, or do another older veteran signing.

I’ve seen this commercial a…

I’ve seen this commercial a million times and agree with you. It has bothered me a bit as well. I’m wondering if they utilized general stats from that line of scrimmage position even though the majority of the time those defenders are fully surrounding the RB instead of trailing.

"My oldest is great at…

"My oldest is great at bargain shopping AND finding just the right thing for someone. I told her last night I'm putting money in her account and she can go wild buying for her mom."

My mom has me do the same thing. I scope Black Friday deals like a hawk every year so my mom tells me what she's thinking for certain people and sends money if I find a deal she wants.

1. My wife and I normally do…

1. My wife and I normally do 99% of our Christmas shopping on Black Friday with one or two gifts that need to be ordered online, custom, etc. This year Black Friday was spread out over a week or two at most retailers and there were a lot more offers online, which was nice. We were still able to wrap up (pun intended) our Christmas shopping by 12/01 which is normally our goal.

2. Yes, but it'll mostly be NFL games. College hasn't interested me as much this year because the playing field won't be even at all for the CFP. Not everyone played the same amount of games, some teams were missing their best players due to COVID, etc.

3. This day and age, you never know. I'm sure the Kardashians can recruit better than Don Brown though.

I thought they should’ve…

I thought they should’ve gone for two in that scenario, but I don’t get paid to make those decisions. Coaches live or die by that stuff. If they would’ve scored the 2PC, everyone would’ve been saying Harbaugh was a genius. If they didn’t score it people would be calling for his head. Kicking the extra point was the neutral between.

It’s one of those plays…

It’s one of those plays where the way it was called on the field determined the result. There was no way they’d be able to overturn it no matter what it was called on the field.
