I dont think that punter can be given this choice when backed up on his own 20 yard line. It is never safe for a kicker to run the ball at that point.
As to a fake punt and throw... thats a different story, but if the kicker's calling the fake no one else knows to look to get open.
Allowing punters the freedom to chose to run from our own red zone, where there is no botched snap, is too much leway and this play should have never happened.
but also think that, comparatively, Mr. Shoelace has no place being put in the game as QB on 3rd and long... has he proven he can make the clutch throw yet?
So I was hoping we'd take at least two of the three games startign with MSU.
Now that we lost to Sparty... what are the odds that we'll win next to. I guess more specifically, who thinks we have a chance in Iowa City? I think we have a chance but have to play like 4th quarter vs. MSU for whole game.
Oh, and on our ability to drive in 4th quarter... who attributes that to Tait as opposed to conditioning a la Brawis?
All right, so contrary to my pre-season hopes, Minor is not in the running for the Heisman this year.
But Im wondering if his ankles are keeping him from getting a healthy amount of touches during the games. Obviously, Carlos is doing a fine job and i'm glad hes healthy, but is Minor really still hurt?
Could coach be keeping him out of line-up to make sure he's healthy for heavy end of schedule (Oct 24th through Nov 21)?
Any thoughts?
I dont know about throwback uniforms, i want our players going into every weeks game like there going to work... same outfit, nothing snazzy.
HOWEVER, in reading a prior post on why we got rid of the stickers, there was a GREAT SUGGESTION...
I think stickers would be great idea during Spring or Summer Practice. Then, even if I dont know all the new players, I can tell whose been doing well. Also, thats when your fighting for your spot.
I agree w/ Carr that once season starts its only about the team's performance.

Too cluttered... i think who ever has the most paint missing from their helmet and face mask at the end of the game should be the proudest.

Maybe its just me, but i want this guy at michigan. We could really use the strength at line backer. I know were not at the top of his list, which is why I wanted to say something.
You say stalker, but i was getting dressed out of the same locker room at the same high school 10years ago... my little brother... six years ago. I'd like to direct him to the good guys.
And dont get me wrong, my dad and his whole fam were PSU grads... so i got nothing against the program but (1)i think our team is going places (2) with addition of Robinson the D is gonna tighten the screws.
Also dont think this kid could make any wrong decisions - with the choices he faces. Just wanna see him in Maize and Blue
was a pretty decent wrestler out of high school and had great coaches who told me Mich was the school (the only good school) to go.
Granted my career ended after my first year at mich - no olympics or WWF for me... but, yeah, advice from coaches and local friends was what took me to Ann Arbor.
Common Sence also says were on up swing w/ great S&C coach and D coordinator, while Jo Pa is on his way out and PSU.
I really hope we got recruiters looking and talking to this guy.
I know he hasnt visited school (should have been at ND game) and from what Ive heard no one from Mich has come to town to watch him play.
I know theres still time, but man I dont know whats worse for him not to go to Mich or for him to go to Penn State.

What happens when a player leads with the elbow rather than the fist? I saw a play this weekend where a blitzing DE fell on the opposing quarterback with some force and it seemed it was elbow first (a la the peoples elbow). Does this count?
This who suspension thing is getting way out of control, particularly with regard to this CONTACT SPORT that is played by hormone enriched and massive young men who were recruited for their strength, ability to hit and fight.
Is this going to continue all season?
What is offensive conduct?
Isnt this what these players signed up for? and if there good enough at it wont they be payed millions just to hurt opposing players for the rest of their life?
Come on, a post game punch is one thing, a post-play shove to the face is another, and a punch or shove during the play is just part of the game!!!!!!!!
Just cause my most recent memory is much more clear, must have been the hash-brown-ies i ate every game day... but it was because of our difficult non-conference schedule that we never went 4-0. EVERY SEPTEMBER we played a hard non-conference team (often on the road) and lost before it was October 1st. This year, with first 4 games at home... against less than steller teams (with exception of ND which was SUCH A HUGE WIN)it makes things easier...
