Harbaugh's personal assistant is Mick Lombardi, son of Mike Lombardi, who worked with LaCanfora at NFL Network. The whole time Lombardi was the "GM" of the Browns, LaCanfora ran articl after article puffing up his boy, and then tried a takedown of the Browns as soon as Lombardi was canned (when, not even a week before he was supportive of the Browns moves, a total flip-flop).
I'm sure Harbaugh wants more money. He was never coming to the Browns. It may have been a plan cooked up by Lombardi and Harbaugh to make Lombardi seem heroic to Jimmy Haslam (word is that toward the end, Lombardi and banner were trying to cut each other's throats to save themselves) and save his job with the Browns, while Harbaugh uses the levarage for a raise, while Jason LaCanfora gets the scoop.
In my opinion anything coming from laCanfora that is even slightly related to Mike Lombardi is pure hogwash.

Goldhammer is the worst. I can handle Rizz being a Buckeye honk. It's unsurprising and makes sense. I would always turn it off if it was a Buckeye segment. But, AG is the wort thing to ever happen to sports radio in Cleveland since I started listening in the late 80's. I stopped listening to Rizzo because of Goldhammer. I have also crossed paths with him in the past in Lakewood bars, and he's just as obnoxious in person. My Buddy was working the door one night and wouldn't let him in, saying is ID was fake. Goldhammer was apopleptic and it was hysterical.

Dad from Ferndale, Mom from Collinwood. Born in Royal Oak and moved to the East Side of Cleveland when I was about a year old. At least I was saved from the Lions by my Dad, whoi disavowed them after they ruined Billy Sims. Too bad my maternal Grandfather had Browns season tix from 1948-1983.

seriously, Modell became majority owner in 1961. He fired Paul Brown in 1963. The Browns won the 64 NFL title with a team (led by Jim Brown) built largely by Paul Brown. Then he "fired" Jim freaking Brown. The next 30 years, zip. zilch. Nada. The, he took the team to Baltimore. Then the NFL granted the new Browns to Al Lerner, the guy who was unsuccessful in obtaining an NFL franchise for Baltimore when the league expanded with CAR/JAX, who also intorduced Modell to his Baltimore partners to work out a stadium deal on Lerners plane.
Seriously, you can tie everything bad that has ever happened to the Browns back to Art Modell. Burn in hell, Art Modell

a knee jerk job by Haslam. It has been in the works for a little while. Pettine is Haslam's choice, and Farmer was consulted via telephone (he was in Mobile). While Farmer hadn't been told he was in line for a promotion (allegedly), Haslam had already been discussing Banner's exit from the team with Banner a couple of weeks ago (again, rumor). The rumors of Lombardi being forced out have persited on Twitter for a couple of weeks at least. Apparently, he all but promised he could deliver McDaniels before Chud was let go, and, well, that didn't happen. Once that blew up in Lombardi's face, Haslam strted to get the idea that no one around the league has much respect for Lombardi, and that set things in motion.
|4 weeks 4 days ago||This is good news||
no snark intended. Today is a good day for Cleveland Browns fans. Lombardi and Banner could have been replaced with a bent 7 iron and a two-legged tripod and the Browns still would have performed addition by subtraction. Replacing them with actual, honest to God, know what they're doing in their roles people who have the respect of others around the league? Yahtzee! Scheiner and Farmer are both rising stars with a bullet, and I'm glad Haslam didn't futz around and risk losing them because he was worried that the mainstream media would make fun of him.
Rumor is Haslam never wanted Banner to begin with, but Banner was forced on him by the NFL. Ehh whatever, it's all revisionist history now, but at the end of the day, the Browns are better today than they were yesterday.
The only "negativity" you will see/hear about this will come from national media types who are "friends" with Lombardi. Of course they're going to have to take up for their boy. And not for nothing, but they all just lost a good source as well. So, there will be sreeches heard from the national level, plus everyone loves to swing at low hanging fruit.
Good luck Lombardi, maybe your pal Bill Belichik will give you a job in New England like he did after Al Davis fired you. Oh wait, not even Belichik would hire you, BECAUSE YOU SUCK

a good choice for a small MVP bet might be Tukka Rask. Last I saw he was 18-1, and it always seems like in the Olympics, one goalie or another gets hot and puts his team on his back for a while (R. Miller, D Hasek, even Ray LeBlanc in '92).
So, pretty good odds on a guy we've all seen go on an unbelieveable hot streak before.
Otherwise, Go USA and Go Sweden (the ancestral home of the Paternal side of my family)

a pipe burst in my rental house this morning and I was all, "Don't care. We got Alabama's OC". In my memory, that burst pipe will have happened in 2013.
Enduring an entire offseason of trying to convince myself that things could be better/changed/invigorated on offense even though there were mountains of evidence pointing to the cretacian midset of Borges never changing a thing and being content with banging our collective heads into the same spot on the same wall, week after week was already starting to wear me down. So, that's not a thing anymore, and I am so happy I forgot to put on pants.

My Father grew up in Ferndale in the 40's, 50's and 60's. Shortly after we moved from Ferndale to Cleveland, my Father's disdain for the "cheap ass" Ford family that "knew they were going to make money every year no matter how shitty the team was" reached its peak. I remember he and my Uncle talking about how they ruined Billy Sims' career, and my Father vowed to not let me become a fan of the Lions' perpetual misery.
At the same time, my maternal Grandfather lived near us in Cleveland, and he had been a season ticket holder since the Browns AAFC days in the late 40's. So, I ended up becoming a Browns fan.
Fate, it seems, is not without a sense of humor.

I put my order in yesterday. Don't worry MGrowOld, the media will return to their regular roles as a glorified PR department for the team shortly. I was encouraged that there was at least an attempt to hold their feet to the fire yesterday, but I doubt it will last.
|10 weeks 4 days ago||the Kansas game||
was definitely the high water mark of the year for me.
Although, as a Browns fan, I must say when they hired Rob Chudzinski in January, that was a good moment as well. He is obviously building something for the Browns and will surely lead this team to a sustained run of successful football. Sure the first year was bumpy, but with the way the Front office traded away picks and players to stockpile assets for 2014, that was to be expected, especially when having to play QB roulette most weeks. Some people have said he might be"on the hot seat" but only an complete and total moron would fire a guy less than a year after hiring him.
|10 weeks 5 days ago||you're right about that||
they could be the Browns. Yikes
|11 weeks 2 days ago||yeah||
let's root for him to suck so you can be right. Does it matter that people wanted him to sub in for Gardner? Only thing that matters now is hoping he does well enough to give us a chance in this game while gaining experiece that will be useful for his continued development next season, when he is Devin's backup.
