I'm sure you're correct. I just know how much the commentariat appreciates HFRO references

what about Seaman Beaumont on the USS Dallas?
"Not if we stay in his baffles, Seaman Beaumont, not if we stay in his baffles"

but this comment totally reminded me of the Seinfeld episode where George lost his glasses..."you're eating onions, you're spotting dimes, I don't know what to believe"

Had a "Bo" M in the 90's in high school, then it got stolen. I got another a few years later. Had that one for 10 years (it now hangs in a place of pride, above my toolbox in my garage) and replaced it about 4 days ago with a Jordan branded one.
Bo M forever

my point wasnt so much that it was offensive ( i even said as much) It was more of a "I come to MGoBlog to escape the crappiness of life and here I am thinking about those life things again." I wasnt trying to condemn anyone, say anyone needed to take anything down or change anything, it was just, like, a real bummer, man (Imagine me drinking a White Russian in a bathrobe while saying this)
And I'm not telling anyone how to feel, or that how they feel is wrong, but I have other family members who are also challeneged with a few different diagnoses, and I can tell you, in my experience, it was whole lot different when it was my Son. But thats just me. other people may feel differently and are not wrong for doing so

I would ask the moderators please remove my post, so as to avoid any sort of public "calling out" or anyone taking anything the wrong way. Also, if that has happened, I cannot begin to express the amount that increases my faith in humanity. Good people all over this site
And if not, thats fine too, theres still good people all over this site. My message is delivered with much love for all
|1 week 6 days ago||Brian, love you||
I used to be a person who thought it was PC people going overboard when they started the push for people to no longer use the word "retarded". Now I have an autistic son. Funny how shit happens and changes your perspective.
Im not here to say that you're awful, you need to take the wording down or any of that. It was a joke, I get it. Im not sore about it. It just makes me sad. Mostly for my wonderful son with a beautiful soul.
Again, no harm done here. But just know words like that can affect people.
I love your writing, I love this blog. I saw there was a new post on Twitter and I clicked it immediately so I could break up the monotony of yet another dreary day as an office drone by immersing myself in this website which you provide to us for free (for which I am grateful). Now my heart hurts.
Again, no reason to change anything, just wanted you to be aware.

it's the Ford family's fault. My Dad disavowed the Lions after they ruined Billy Sims. He always said the Ford's knew the Silverdome would sell out no matter how terrible the team was so they just didn't care if it got better or not (this was in the late 80s).
Ironically we lived in Cleveland at the time, and I ended up becoming a Browns fan. His plan to save me the sorrow of rooting for an awful NFL team kinda backfired. Coincidentally, he died in 1999 and got to avoid the crapshow that is the Browns 2.0

cable providers have started touting "no data caps" as a perk in their advertisements for cable packages. They are conditioning consumers for the eventuality that there will be data caps (probably for internet only subscribers at first). They aren't going to lose all that cord cutting money and take it lying down.
Eventually there will be data caps and streamers will end up paying as much for internet access and a couple/few subscription services as people who have regular old cable.

the simplicity of the road jerseys (like last year). I hated all the yellow piping and number outlines on pervious years and am a big fan of the return to simplicty.

also, in the case of s ubdicision, there could be some PUD rules the builder needs to abide by, and the owner-builder already knows all of them, while an outside builder may not (silly stuff like "you can only have certain colors/features/landscape elements etc"
|4 weeks 6 days ago||well that can be complicated||
but since the builder actually owns the lot, they are allowed to offer incentive to get you to use their services to build the house (i.e.- we will give you a break on the price of the lot if you sign a contract to have us build your house).
That being said, there are other builders (Wayne Homes is one I know of) that will come build on your lot, wherever that lot may be. At the end of the day you dont HAVE to use the builder that owns the lot, but they'll make it more expenisive and/or more of a p.i.t.a if you dont. Another thing the builder could do is make life a nightmare for the outside builder you choose with building codes, keep that in mind as well.
I'd say if you want to use a different builder, you may want to look for a lot elsewhere. if you have your heart set on that lot, use the builder who owns the place if you want life to be easy (and, in all likelihood, cheaper)
At the end of the day though, this is America, if you buy a lot, you can have the Amish come build a house on it if you like. Just be prepared for higher costs and the potential for lots of red tape.

Also, Im sure Matt runs his business well, and Im also certain that Brian wouldn't associate with him unless he we one of the "good guys" in the world of mortgage lending
Just want to let the MGoCommunity know that i was a mortgage processor for a shade over 10 years. If you ever have any mortgage related questions and would like an impartial (but informed) opinion, I'd be happy to lend an ear (I no longer work in mortgages, and I wouldn't try to steer your business toward or away from anyone in particular. I just know it can be tough at times to get a neutral opionion in these types of transactions, and I'd be happy to help if anyone ever needs an ear.
|6 weeks 5 days ago||dude from Nebraska||
kicked the ball on purpose. I remember being home from BG for the weekend, having watched the PSU game at my folks house and dozing afterwards. I woke up right around the end of the Nebraska game because one of my bussies called me and told me Nebraska was about to lose. Its a good thing I grew up on a farm, because no one was able to hear my profanity laced tirade when they allowed that TD

|7 weeks 23 hours ago||you seem to be missing my point||
there is reason now to wonder if Paterno was also hiding something, and it warrants investigation. To continue to say "ehh thats how it was back then" is the same mistake over again. All I said was "maybe". Whats wrong with taking a look?
|7 weeks 23 hours ago||right||
but in 1976, when Paterno had been there 8 years and didnt have much of a legacy to protect,and he coul've axed Sandusky without anyone paying much attention to it at all, why keep him around? Something stinks. Its not as if Sandusky were some defensive savant who ran schemes that no one else could have dreamed of. DC's are fairly replaceable. Why keep this guy on at the risk of your own career? The more that comes out about the longer Paterno knew the more I think theres some kind of skeletoon in Paternos closet that maybe Sandusky knew about, so they traded silence for silence
|7 weeks 23 hours ago||point of clarification||
I said "maybe" and at this point, its worth investigating. Thats all. It's a question worth asking. To continue to say "nope, there was just a mindset back then" naah, not now, not anymore. Not in the face of 30+ years of knowledge. There just very well may be a reason beyond "thats just how it was".
My Grandfather was older than Paterno, and he wouldn't have turned a blind eye. My Dad once though one of his coworkers had ripped my shirt "horsing around" one day and was about ready to kill him (and really, he was born in the 40s so not that far remvoed from Paterno).
Im not saying Paterno was a molester, but perhaps he had some weird predilection. Maybe something Sandusky knew about and Joe traded silence for silence.
Amd again, MAYBE. But its worth asking. Im no longer willing to accept Paterno was silent for all those years "just because". It could very well be the case, and there may not be anything more to it than that, but at this point, assumptions are no longer good enough.
|7 weeks 1 day ago||knowing what we now know||
back in 1976 Paterno hadn't been there that long, didnt have all that much of a "legacy" to protect, it seems very odd that he wouldn't have just gotten rid of Sandusky. UNLESS there is something sickening about Paterno as well. Maybe Paterno was a monster too

people in that comments thread talking about how Harbaugh was "cast out" of the Pros.
Wonder if those folks realize that the 49ers got SMOKED by the Cleveland freaking Browns last year. Also, they're the only team predicted to be worse than the Browns this year.
Yeah. Cast out. I'm home sick with a stomach bug and laughing reeeeeeally hurts, but I can't stop
