| 4 days 21 hours ago | Unforgettable game |
I actually don't remember my first game. I was much younger than you were at your first game, though (probably 5 or 6). The rest of that year, though... |
| 4 days 23 hours ago | I don't know about 2008 Wisconsin |
The first half was one of the worst games of football I had ever seen a Michigan team play (at least up until then). I looked at the box score--Threet ended 12 of 31 for 96 yards and about half of our rushing yards came on two plays (Brandon Minor's touchdown and Threet's long run). Despite the win it was pretty clear it was going to be a long season. I agree completely about those 2009 and 2010 games, though. I thought we'd turned the corner both years (sigh). |
| 5 days 7 hours ago | Who won 25 straight games from 1946-1949 |
Which includes a national championship in 1948 and arguably one in 1947. (Just to add some details to your point.) |

| 1 week 1 day ago | I didn't see the first one |
For pretty much the reasons you gave. I'm sure I'll see them all at some point, but I just can't get excited about it. |
| 1 week 1 day ago | I think that's a pretty accurate description |
Parts of the UW-Madison campus are lovely (such as Bascom Hill), and so are individual buildings. The campus as a whole? Not so much. Miami (NTM), on the other hand, has a beautiful campus. I went to school there, and the surrounding town is little more than an afterthought. |
| 1 week 1 day ago | 2013 - 47 = 1966 |
So his math is perfect if he meant Michigan State's Rose Bowl trip on January 1, 1966. I agree with the sentiment, but come on. |
| 1 week 2 days ago | Well, except for the 1988 Rose Bowl |
MSU 20, USC 17. |
| 1 week 3 days ago | Anthony Carter from Florida |
I think from the Miami area, though. |
| 1 week 5 days ago | Yeah, they're another good example |
Probation even kept them out of the 1979 Rose Bowl. |
| 1 week 5 days ago | Not necessarily true |
In the B1G, Illinois comes to mind. They've been on probation a number of times and frankly never had a lot to show for it. I believe they were on probation twice in the eighties, and managed one Rose Bowl trip. In 1983, they were 10-1 going into the Rose Bowl against 6-4-1 UCLA, but managed to lose 45-9. |
| 1 week 6 days ago | There's also the LCBO |
Manufacturers can also sell, but I don't really understand it. Not a big fan of the system, frankly. I think it's one of the reasons why Ontario's craft brewing industry lags behind the US. |
| 1 week 6 days ago | While I agree with you about Tressel |
I don't think you're being entirely fair to John Cooper. Aside from his well-documented and glorious trouble beating Michigan, he only had two bad years at the end (6-6 in 1999 and 8-4 in 2000). In 1998 he not only beat Michigan and won a BCS bowl but could have made the BCS title game with better special teams play against Michigan State (28-24 loss). There's no way Ohio State would have fired Tressel after one year, though, without him having done something pretty awful off the field.

I haven't eaten there in probably 7-8 years at this point, but they used to have great hamburgers, too. |
| 3 weeks 2 days ago | Brady's first pass was against UCLA in 1996 |
Otherwise you're right--it was indeed returned for a touchdown in a 38-9 win. |
| 3 weeks 5 days ago | John Wangler |
If he hadn't hurt his knee in the '79 Gator Bowl my fantasy is that Michigan would have swept the table in 1980. As it was, they started 1-2 but won the rest of their games, including the Rose Bowl. |

Not us in Ontario. |
| 5 weeks 5 days ago | Trust me, it was 1972 |
We did play UCLA in 1982 (and a second time in the Rose Bowl on January 1st, 1983) and it didn't work out nearly that well. Tom Ramsey was the QB on the 1982 UCLA team. |
| 5 weeks 6 days ago | Ernie stayed in Madison |
Per the terms of his probation agreement. |
| 6 weeks 3 days ago | Attending my company's annual sales conference |
Which I dread. I support sales people but am not actually in sales myself. Because of previous sales conferences I have missed the 2009 Delaware State, 2011 Iowa and 2012 Nebraska games. (The 2010 conference was during a bye week.) |

| 6 weeks 4 days ago | It's kind of a tradeoff |
My first name is "Michael." It's not so bad since I moved to Toronto, with its huge population of immigrants, but growing up there were always at least one other Mike in all of my classes and as many as five. (Now I work with three other Mikes on the same team. Only one of us was actually born in Canada. One was born in the Philippines, another in Romania and I was born in Ann Arbor.) |
| 6 weeks 5 days ago | Ufer for Michigan games |
Jackson for anything else. Normally I'm not a big fan of homers, but Ufer was both completely over the top and on my side. I strongly suspect I'd feel different about him had he done the play by play for Tennessee or Minnesota or Texas or (and I feel dirty even suggesting this) Ohio State. Jackson, on the other hand, was a true professional and brought the same charm and enthusiasm to every game he covered no matter who was playing. |

Fit more in the bong/pipe/etc. I think. Haven't smoked pot in a long time and never really tried to optimize it. |
| 7 weeks 5 days ago | “We have strict and clear standards" |
“We have strict and clear standards regarding these types of behaviors,” Chryst is quoted as saying in the article. So what, no more than 5 bag of heroin? |
| 7 weeks 5 days ago | I think Mathieu is self-medicating |
In other words, pot is not the underlying issue. There's clearly something else going on with the guy, which makes me think he's a risky pick. Not to say he shouldn't be drafted, but that I wouldn't want to pick him up too early. |
| 8 weeks 5 days ago | Your odds of getting killed by a terrorist |
Are still dwarfed by the odds of getting killed driving to the stadium. My recommendation is to stay home and wrap yourself in bubble wrap, since the odds of getting killed in an accident in your house also far outweigh the odds of getting killed by a terrorist. |
