"He makes it really easy on you as a coach because he has tremendous football instincts," Michigan tight ends coach Jay Harbaugh said. "Things come really naturally to him. He doesn't have to see things too many times. He has a good sense for how things should look and feel, and he's a tough, physical guy."

because of the source. If that was just another ESPN talking head I'd say this isn't worthy of a thread. But to hear JUB, who clearly has direct access to Jim Harbaugh, say that the coach is locked in to UM for the long-term--that's big. Obviously, it's early but I really enjoy seeing that tweet from Bacon.

Yes. Yes it is, Goose.

That actually made their performance against BYU more impressive in my eye. They didn't force a turnover and were still that dominant.

Too bad they don't have a backup plan at QB...

Just watched his highlight reel. So excited about him. So many ways to use a talent like him in Harbaugh's offense (Durkin's defense?).

I think that was terrific. But maybe I'm the absolute target audience for such a promotional stunt. I remember playing frogger in my freind's garage in 1983. Damn, those were the days.
Oh yeah, and I won the game, so...yeah. I'm pretty proud of myself right about now.

It was impossible to avoid clumsy execution. The bottom line is that legends jerseys required changing people's numbers. How was the next great player supposed to associate his number with legendary status when, in all likelihood, he would be wearing someone else's legendary number by the time he graduated.
I'm glad this is over and I can go back to assoiciating my favorite players with one number in perpetuity.

Has he added more questions? I'm finding a few questions after the "two fouls" discussion.

I don't know why but this just seems like such a good fit. In fact, I think I hate Brandon a little less now that he is working at a place where he belongs.
Harbaugh at UM, Brandon at Toys R Us. Everything in it's right place.
Good luck, Dave.

Would've liked MSU at night but have no problem not having a night game. I like the idea that they happen every once in awhile. But don't need 'em every year. Michigan football is a big deal no matter what time it happens.

I grew up on Indiana Basketball and worshipped at the altar of Bobby Knight.
To this day, I cheer for UM basketball...except when they're playing IU (and was the only person in Ann Arbor happy when Jordan Morgan's putback rimmed out a couple years ago).
There, I said it.

Fun Fact: Lazlo from that movie is played by the same guy (Jon Gries) who plays Uncle Rico in Napoleon Dynamite.

I care about this way too much as well, but with a different take.
Legends jerseys have to go. Get rid of 'em. Kaput.
Woodson didn't have earn #2 (except that he was highly touted coming out of high school) and David Terrell didn't need to earn #1 (same reasoning).
If you want to honor legends, put their numbers on the pressbox/luxury box area. Period.

About a minute left (or maybe a little more). Wisconsin down by 5 but the ball would've been theirs, right under their own net. Instead, Duke gets the ball and hits a 3 and is up by 8.

|26 weeks 20 hours ago||Norfleet at corner||
Looked pretty awful. Just outmatched, size wise. The one touchdown came off several toss-up balls in his direction, exploiting his (lack of) height. It was an interesting experiment but I would be shocked if he sees a down of playtime at that position this year. And the fact that he was playing there makes me think coaches don't like his lack of height at the WR position either. I realize this may be reading too much into a Spring game but--I wonder if we will ever see him play a meaningful down (aside from kick returns) with Harbaugh as coach.

It was a lame idea and I hated the number-switching.
|30 weeks 5 days ago||Houston is the perfect||
Houston is the perfect example of why letting Suh go was the right move. The Texans are 100% locked into having one incredible player on their team. It doesn't matter that Watt is the best player in the league--they didn't make the playoffs. Meanwhile, the Patriots let go a GREAT player (Logan Mankins) right before the season began and won the super bowl.
|30 weeks 5 days ago||I think this was absolutely||
I think this was absolutely the right move. As good as he is (and I think he's the best DT in the league) I don't think the Patriots or Seahawks would've spent the kind of money he was going to require to lock up. Paying him huge amounts would have been a Texans move. Letting him go is a Patriots move (the same type they employed w/ Ty Law, Lawyer Milloy, Randy Moss, and Logan Mankins). Football is a team sport and I'm glad to see the Lions focus on spreading money across the whole team.
