Niko Porikos grew up in an NTDP billet home. Cool story.

I did notice he can hit damn pretty hard for the smaller size that he is, which is always really nice to see.
|2 days 4 hours ago||What is he projected at the||
What is he projected at the next level, safety? Maybe CB? He looks best suited as a safety in college in the few highlight minutes I was able to see.

Keep it secret. I like recruiting as much as the next guy but the player (and our coaching staff) don't want it known for a reason. If something comes of it we all will know soon enough.

You're joking right? This could be the most blatant sarcasm I have ever read.
|2 weeks 3 days ago||He is probably more referring||
He is probably more referring to the whole "pride comes before the fall" type of statement and making a connection that he is starting to sound full of pride with that statement.

9-4. (8-4 reg season with a bowl win)

That is what happened with the coke promotion too though. Coke got them through the Athletic department then gave them out in a promo. It is exactly like this.

Looks like you dont know the ncaa rules either, exactly like the damn refs today.

Harbaugh wanted no distractions, and cowherd is just one big distraction.

Isn't this route called a whip or pivot route?

Smith ran with authority, which is nice to see. He did miss a few holes, but overall our line needs to make more holes.
|5 weeks 2 hours ago||Nope, at least not a||
Nope, at least not a significant difference. There was a decent amount of wind though which may have affected the throws.
|5 weeks 16 hours ago||Loved the playcalling, hated||
Loved the playcalling, hated the execution. We needed that td on the deep ball, needed that to be a catch on 3rd down, and rudock should not have thrown it to the wr which resulted in the pick 6 since someone else was wide open. All of those were great play calls but executed wrong. Change just those 3 plays and this game is completely different.

Does anyone have the full Dan Patrick segment with Rick Neuheisel. I am interested to see what he said before that and after that.
|5 weeks 1 day ago||I think he is right, but he||
I think he is right, but he is talking about the casual fan. The fans here on mgoblog are mostly die hard fans who analyze just about everything. We are looking for team and player development, but we also are the minority of football fans.
|5 weeks 1 day ago||Sort of. Even closer would be||
Sort of. Even closer would be a 43 with one of the linebackers as a hybrid db type players, or just call it a nickel formation which is exactly what it is.You could say that for most formations though if you add the descriptors. All the brief formation names (43,34,44,425,etc) are just ways to quickly give you an idea of the personell. Everyone runs each formation different due to scheme.

Just because it is being sent to utah today doesnt mean the media (and us) will know what it is today(if at all before thursday).
|5 weeks 4 days ago||Just because he doesnt run||
Just because he doesnt run many downfield routes and play slot in hs doesnt mean he cant do that in college...
|5 weeks 5 days ago||It really isn't clever||
It really isn't clever though. It would be much more clever if Smith was a great qb before harbaugh but after harbaugh he sucked. Instead it is the opposite. Saying anything about alex smith is pretty much a compliment to harbaugh.
|5 weeks 5 days ago||It is also on record that||
It is also on record that Blake has as good of precision punting the ball as most qb's have throwing the ball. I would guess Blake is the guy doing the coffin corner type kick.
|5 weeks 6 days ago||I could definitely see||
I could definitely see harbaugh using him at a RB position like a toby gerhart type. He's huge and while he may not be the fastest player, he's quick enough to be an effective bruising back.

I am starting to get the feeling he will throw 4 TE's out there and call it a day.
|6 weeks 5 days ago||What? Why wouldnt we? All||
What? Why wouldnt we? All signs are pointing to that. We will be running a lot of nickel (which is a 425) with jabrill playing the nickelback. He will be a great hybrid player there to bridge the db and lb gap. He will be able to cover wrs along with supporting the run well.
|7 weeks 3 days ago||I love it. I think this||
I love it. I think this pretty much all coaches should do this. It sort of sucks as a fan, but I think it is the best thing for the team.
|8 weeks 2 days ago||It is the high predictability||
I would argue a certain amount of predictability is good though. It is the high predictability that allows for big plays. When you are predicted to run because of the situation and the trend of how you have been calling the game in the past is when you can hit them for a huge playaction or something similar that they aren't expecting.

The second bullet should not even be looked at. A lot of mothers think their kids are being worked to hard in sport practices.

I disagree. I think college typically is a lot more predictable.

While '05 wasnt great, it didn't wipe out an entire football season from my memory like '08.

I think it is safe to say that everyone has pretty much wiped that year from their memory.
