There aren't many broadcasters that I can think of where if you read the text of one of their speeches...you immediately hear them giving it. I totally agree with JMac. Reading that speech all over again, I had a chill go the length of my spine....could hear Bob as plain as if he was on my radio.
I don't know how much we can move them, but figured it was worth a shot....I sent in a note to ESPN to both tell them about this story and ask that they make sure to telecast when Brock leads the team out.
The response wasn't very reassuring, but maybe if everyone deluges them with similar requests...?

Never saw…

Never saw the entire stadium erupt the same before or since.

Thanks for bringing back the memory!
Anyone have any idea why they're claiming Hot Dogs are from Ohio?
I always heard that the guy who started Coney Island Hot Dogs somewhere in NYC was the person who is given that distinction...(forget his name)
I'm no advocate of a mascot, but if DB is going to TRY one...I hope he don't also burden us with a cutesy name, too.
(as someone else suggested in the comments in the MIchigan Today article Victor Valiant posted the link to...one obvious one would be Victor...)
The rumor on the campus then was that it was the first time ever.
Whether it was or not...there was a run on Campus Corners. They were totally out of beer before noon.
(the parties on campus that day were EPIC)
Edit: 1978 was apparently only the third snow-day ever.....
