I'm drinking at Ryans Pub 241 Decatur st. I was there for Bradys super bowl victory vs the rams. Hoping it brings us luck. Plus its a great bar. It served as our headquarters the week leading up to superbowl / mardi gras as everything was bunched together that year b/c of 9/11.
I heard rumors of Sanduskys actions years ago, maybe 4-5 yrs ago, i also was reminded of these allegations after reading a article written by the penn st campus newspaper 2 1/2 to 3 yrs ago. Wondering why it took so long to surface.
read this book, granted you must take it with a grain of salt, but pretty interesting. It also coinsides with most of holtzs books. great read. Abebooks.com its $3 plus shipping.
Does anyone remember what year this was? Holtz sent word that ND will go on the field first. It was either Bo or Mo that said F-that and lead Michigan out of the locker room as ND was leaving their locker room. The TV cameras got caught in the middle of a fierce meeting in the tunnel. One of my very 1st memories of the rivalry
Herschel Walker story. Quite an amazing story. From his early years of being bullied in grade school to wanting to enter the Marines to "kill people". Not sure when it will air again, but you should without a doubt watch it from the start.
ND was only down 10 after throwing that late int. They get the ball back with 1:20 down 10 still and there was no sense of urgency at all. They gave up when really they could have won. They scored to cut it to 3 and almost got the onside kick if floyd would have went up and grabbed the ball. Wierd ending IMO, but both teams had to have been drained from the delays.
Notice Chip of oregon takes his player to the side, explains what he did wrong, pats him on the ass and sends him to the sidelines, Brian of ND screams and curses out his player, you could hear the f-bombs on tv! Face fire engine red, god what a prick!
just ordered 25 tickets for Duffys tailgate for my bachelor party. Anyone ever went through them? Was it a good time? Doing it basically b/c they provide the transportation.
Hart came into camp with high expectations for himself. Nobody else gave him a chance. 3rd or 4th team O vs 1st team D. im standing at the goal line on the state st side of the practice field. The 3rd team O - line gets blown up, Hart is pushed back 10 yds and evryone thinks hes gonna get smashed, he stiff arms a defender and breaks free and dives over the goal line! vs 1st team D. Wow, still gives me chills
I was playing baseball in PR over Xmas break. My Gpa was taping the game for me back in the states. So everyone in my family was gna make me wait until we flew back to NY for me to find out what the score was. My poor mom couldnt contain herself, that night after my game when we got back to the hotel her beaming smile in the elevator gave it away! great moment even though i didtnt see the game live.
It's part of college football history. We will be forever tied to them. So why not play again? I think everyone knows by now that App St wasnt your average sub-division team, and alot better than some FBS teams. I remember everyone making fun of us for playing them that year before the season started and i said i was worried about them from watching their national title game the year before. We overlooked them, big deal, they were legit. I see them as a FBS school in the years to come. The talent is there.
Just adding to this topic of our clothing being used for the wrong reasons. I work in a prison close to NYC. I also worked for Michigan football in '03-'07, so i have a ton of nike/michigan football clothing. I was made aware at one of our recent staff trainings that street Gangs (the Mexican mafia) has adopted our Block "M" clothing as a sort of uniform and that i will be unable to wear my michigan clothing to work.
Holtz actually mentioned "Under the Tarnished Dome" in one of his books. I wouldn't have bought/read it if he didn't mention it. Did seem like the author was fishing though, so i took everything he said with a grain of salt. Good read though.
