Hassan Haskins was also a…

Hassan Haskins was also a position switch...

You would think that. But…

You would think that. But you would also think that top end Edge, OL, RB, and TE recruits would be kicking the door down to play here, too. Crootin is weird.

He seemed to be getting…

He seemed to be getting figured out already while he was still at OSU. Don Brown came in and pretty much had them stopped, but UM still couldn't get over their OSU mental block back then. Clemson destroyed them in the CFP. He had to bring in Day to help the offense.

They've already been all…

They've already been all over Mel and the administration for days saying that they refused to stand up and "bent over" for UM and the media.

The transfer portal doesn't…

The transfer portal doesn't need to be a long term strategy at a place like LSU. Much more fertile recruiting grounds there than MSU, and to an extent the school recruits itself.

Haven't seen Paul Gilbert…

Haven't seen Paul Gilbert mentioned yet. He is definitely right up at the top of the list for me.

Carr isn't happening, but…

Carr isn't happening, but word on the street is that a certain professor is. Wink, wink.

Definitely hoping the stress…

Definitely hoping the stress fracture/out for season rumors are not true, but he is absolutely hurt. Someone with inside knowledge of the program confirmed that he got hurt in practice before Maryland.

I agree that the basketball…

I agree that the basketball is in much better shape to avoid a surprise letdown against a vastly inferior team, but there is still that part of me that is a little nervous. As bad as MSU has been, it is the perfect storm for them to have a game where they suddenly can't miss a shot. They have guys that are capable of getting hot, and I've been a Michigan fan long enough. Hoping for a historical beatdown though.

I said the exact same thing…

I said the exact same thing while watching them last night. When we see them, they will have weird guys hitting 3's.

Cade Johnson looked really…

Cade Johnson looked really good in this video.

Well okayden

This is the perfect year to…

This is the perfect year to be moving Stafford. I can't remember a time when so many teams with rosters ready to win were in the market for a QB.

Dabo's schtick is definitely…

Dabo's schtick is definitely played out, but that is not nearly enough for me to want OSU to win. I still hope they lose every game. Even still, I don't have a problem with what Gattis said.

Clemson and Oklahoma have…

Clemson and Oklahoma have each won 6 straight conference championships. OSU has won 5 in a row. Alabama has won 4 of the last 6, and one of the years they lost, they still won the National Championship. I don't see any sign of change anytime soon.

This isn't a case of a…

This isn't a case of a player "bolting for the NFL as soon as they are eligible." Paye stayed 4 years and graduated, even though he could have left after last season. And OSU loses most of their top players after 3 years, or as soon as they are eligible for the draft. Awful take.

Giudice is projected there,…

Giudice is projected there, and it appears to be more of the same hoping DE's bulk up to play  inside. It hasn't worked well yet, but they clearly have no intention of changing it.

I am pessimistic about…

I am pessimistic about landing Edward's as well, but it has nothing to do with the fact that he didn't commit earlier. It has been no secret, and stated hundreds of times, that he was going to take it all the way.

Yep, 14 FBS games cancelled…

Yep, 14 FBS games cancelled this week, but Michigan's was illegitimate...

Top tier talent, and a star…

Top tier talent, and a star QB who can lead an explosive offense.

Georgia has top tier talent, but their QB situation has been shaky lately. From was good, but their offense was run dominate with Fromm managing the game.

Oklahoma has had the QB/offense part down, but not enough top tier talent across the board.

They get stuffed so often…

They get stuffed so often because there is zero threat. No matter the down, if it is less than 4 yards to go, they will run up the gut every single time.

That split in SF had just as…

That split in SF had just as much to do with Baalke as it did Harbaugh. Maybe more.

Michigan's run game looks to…

Michigan's run game looks to be a strength, which would be handy in this type of weather. And on the flip side, Minnesota's offensive strength is their QB and top WR.

I believe the number was…

I believe the number was only 52% man last year. I know Brown has the reputation for playing press-man with a single high safety, but it isn't quite what people are making it out to be.

Not if you ask them…

Not if you ask them. Apparently they are "back" and Michigan is scared. That is why we are talking about them, and not the fact that they have been the laughing stock of the country for a while now.

Good for them. His…

Good for them. His recruiting class at Colorado this year would be good for 9th in the B1G. He won 5 games in his first season as a HC, with a lot more talent than he will inherit at MSU, and in a much easier conference.

Nobody was running or crawling to take the job at that dumpster fire, so they had to drop the big bag just to get someone halfway competent to show up.

Just for the record, those …

Just for the record, those "superior recruits" for LSU- Jefferson was a 3* ranked outside of the top 2000. Edwards-Helaire and Moss were both 3*. Burrow was a 4*, but ranked lower overall than Gentry as a QB. Chase was a top 100 recruit, but not as highly ranked as DPJ.

I also agree that Nebraska…

I also agree that Nebraska may be getting a little bit overrated this year, but they will be much better than they were last year.

You mentioned their defense, but in the second half of the season they weren't playing too bad. I think their biggest issue last year was trying to get players to buy in to a new system. They seemed to lack a ton of effort in the first 6 games that they were playing with in their last 6. And Martinez is really good when healthy.

I think Hudson's biggest…

I think Hudson's biggest problem was that him and some family members made all kinds of noise when he left the program, and made it well known that he was pissed about not playing. Seems like it gives the NCAA an easy out regardless of what your reasoning is when you file for immediate eligibility.

Part of it was the…

Part of it was the transition. Harbaugh was never going to be able to pull a full, well-rounded class together in 2015 in such a short time frame. They took what they could get.

2016 had some big misses at OT recruiting, which in hindsight seems like it was probably Drevno just being terrible.

2017 class is what really killed the depth after losing 3 OT prospects and 2 DT's.

You can't just throw out…

You can't just throw out arbitrary numbers that you expect the schools to meet in the name of equality, and then get mad about how they have to manipulate the numbers to get compliant.

Football automatically skews the numbers, and there is no other sport on the women's side that would be able to balance that other than rowing. If you take out the crew "loophole," you would have to add 5 more women's programs to match the football roster.

And if these

And if these rankings hold true at the end of the season, Michigan could win every one of those games but lose to OSU, and the narrative would still be that Harbaugh has never beat anyone with a pulse or won a big game.

And Bama would get all kinds of credit again for making it through the brutal SEC schedule they have to endure with all 3 ranked opponents they had to play in between FCS games.

I'm not saying that @PSU won…

I'm not saying that @PSU won't be tough, or even possibly an L, but I think too many people are overhyping the white out aspect. Yes they stole one from OSU there, and whooped us a couple years ago, but that PSU team would have destroyed that Michigan team anywhere. They actually have a losing record in white outs, and Franklin is still an awful coach who has been thoroughly embarrassed by Harbaugh teams 3 out of 4 years.

Barkley, McSorley, Gesicki, and Moorehead won't be there for them this year.

Yeah, I think people may be…

Yeah, I think people may be taking dad's quote a bit out of context. Seems to me that it was more or less them hoping to get an offer from a local school, and the fact that it didn't come right away opened the door to actually look at Michigan.

Metellus was also voted…

Metellus was also voted first team All-Conference by the AP, and second team by coaches last year. He is on all the award watchlists heading into this season, and his stats against the pass last season were tops in the B1G.

But yeah, he's a scrub...smh

I laughed at that "no…

I laughed at that "no explosive plays" part. Are those two DB's going to be able to stop 4 WR's on every play, as well as the TE and RB out of the backfield?

Exactly. There are plenty in…

Exactly. There are plenty in that fanbase who still think that he stayed with OSU because he hates Drake, and once that "football-hating liberal from California" leaves, then Meyer will step back in.

As soon as he goes elsewhere and starts winning, they will turn bitter.

Missed the word "basketball"…

Missed the word "basketball" in the title at first. Came in to see who ended up being given the #6 jersey in football.

Shea to Tai Streets.

When I…

Shea to Tai Streets.

When I first saw the title, I was anticipating the game being QB who wore # of birth month and WR who wore # of the day. In that case, I would have had Harbaugh to Arrington.

MSU didn't make the list…

MSU didn't make the list because steroids didn't technically count as a meal.

To be fair, Taylor was…

To be fair, Taylor was absolutely gashing our defense last year until Chryst decided to try and air it out for some reason.

Michigan has won 2 out of…

Michigan has won 2 out of the last 18 vs OSU in football. OSU won 4 out of 18 immediately before that.

We have longer stretches of consecutive losses during those streaks, but we also had some pretty awful teams under RR and Hoke. They had great teams consistently during Michigans run.

Other than being a PIA to…

Other than being a PITA to play against, I have no issues with Iowa.

There are much less tolerable schools in the conference.

He's going to UNC. Probably…

He's going to UNC. Probably got a feel for where he stands on the target board during his visit.

This is true. I have had…

This is true. I have had several PSU fans tell me to "read the report," and "JoePa was cleared."

I've read the report. My conclusion was F*** Paterno, and Penn State football deserved a lot more than what they got.

Kenny Mestidor is who they…

Kenny Mestidor is who they are looking at in place of Powell.

The runner does not have to give any room to a fielder if he is running within the baseline.

I hadn't seen that one yet. Was that stolen from The Onion?
