Replace Hockey with baseball and I agree! However, I would never begrudge someone for liking what they like. Who am I to tell someone they should only like Football and that the sports they like suck? To each their own and if being a baseball/softball fan makes you happy then I'm happy for you. I never understand people posting in the softball threads just to say the sport sucks. Just move on and let them enjoy it.
I'm curious, and not trying to be a dick, but I can't figure out how a Michigan fan can root for any team from Columbus? I started playing hockey about six months ago and also started watching at the same time. I have been trying to choose a team to root for and since I live in Cincinnati most of my friends urge me to follow the Jackets but I can't do it. I graduated from Michigan in '03 and just can't get myself to root for the Jackets.
I love the Walking Dead so you should watch that too but Game of Thrones is possibly the best series on television at the moment. I just started it about a month ago on Project free TV and I couldn't stop. I'm caught up to the live airings now and season 4 could be the best yet and it's only two episodes old.
I think we should disrespect our rivals any chance we get. This just isn't funny. I commend the OP for effort but he just swung and missed this time. But I'm not one who down voted it either so maybe you are correct in that sense
While this is true, there has to be something above simply having hope. I know many use the term "realist" as opposed to being negative but as a fan don't you feel you should have real expectations? Are the Pistons going to win the NBA championship this year, or any time soon for that matter? No. But we can still have hope that they will be good, instead of spouting delusions of grandeur every preseason.
The majority of my friends and family are Cleveland fans so I have to deal with it constantly. Let's not forget that most of them are also delusional Buckeye fans but at least that team is good.
*Sorry to any Browns/Michigan fans for that last jab but it's not completely false. And for formatting as this is from iPhone
The term may be over used but Jordan Morgan is a wonderful representative of this great University. I am very glad that he chose to stay and complete his career as a Michigan Wolverine! Congrats to Jordan as this is well deserved
I'm a Knicks fan but the only reason I watch is for THJ. I can't stand Melo and I gave up all hope of them truly competing when they brought him in. I hope he holds true to his threats to leave in free agency. He's the biggest waste of talent in the NBA today.
Sorry I got lost in my Carmelo hatred rant, Go Blue!
But I firmly believe that if you don't win your conference then you should not be able to make the playoff. Now if there were more than four teams then yes you can get in without a conference championship. People keep saying that the playoff will take away from the importance of the regular season but if you have to win your conference to get in then the regular season is as important as ever.
have two commits from that school already, right? Watson and Canteen are both from Eastern Christian Academy so I would not be upset if we could pull Sills as well. Not likely but would be a nice get
Hate just to hate. They don't like something and feel that others are dumb for liking said thing. So they have to make a point to try and make those others feel bad for liking a sport or whatever it might be. I admit I am not a fan of soccer but it's USA versus the world so of course I would root for my country. I feel the same way about the Olympics and baseball but you won't see me comment in a baseball thread about how boring the game is. To each his own and if you enjoy something then don't let the haters bring you down. Go USA!!!
I'll always be a football first guy but hockey shooting up my list. Being a goalie certainly isn't as hard on my body. I'm getting old(er) and still enjoy the competition but I like not being sore the next day.
Just picked it up actually. Friends have been playing for years and have been asking me to join them. Played football through college and semi-pro but never any hockey. I took to it quite well actually and once I got the skating down my skill level increased very quickly. Never watched a hockey game before either but I am really enjoying it. Watched the Ohio game last night but I still don't know much about the game. I know this really has nothing to do with the topic but I'm loving hockey and this is the first time I've gotten to talk about it here.
for you and your family in this tough time. I can't imagine what you must be going through but we will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. I'll also hug my wife a little longer and tell her how much I love her, and I recommend everyone else do the same with their loved ones, because you never know when something will change your life forever.
Actually the BR article references Denard's injury as to why Devin was playing. Nice job Forde, even BR knows more about the facts than you. Although, they do go on to question whether Gradner would have been a better option than Denard, which I don't believe he would have, but that's a whole other topic.
Woodson was actually asked to wear number 24 (or he probably chose it) for the Oakland Raiders after his junior year. But to your point, I would imagine these kids are asked, not forced, to change numbers. If they think that they could possibly make their number a legends jersey in the future then I would bet the coaches would allow them to try.
I think Tiger is stressing the Majors too much. He sees that his chances are dwindling, although he's still ahead of pace, and if he doesn't pass the record for Major victories then his whole career is a failure to him. I know that's hard to understand from our perspective but he is so competitive and has always stated that his biggest goal was to capture that record. Golf is such a mental game and that's why we get the awesome Tiger in the other tournaments (5 wins this year) and then whoever this guy is for the Majors.
Yes I capitolized Majors like Michigan does Championships
I'm still not sure why I'm reading this whole thread but I completely agree with your idea. We always wish we d have told our family and friends how much they meant to us once they're gone and it takes such little effort to do so while they're still here. I didn't have the day off but I'm going to take your advise and make a few calls. You never know what's coming around the corner.
Not sure how he was rated coming out of high school in Florida but Hurst reminds me of Atkins. They are built very similarly and have the same strengths. If Hurst can come even close to what Geno did in college I'll be happy. If he can approach NFL Geno we will have something very special.
Good for both schools scheduling a real out of conference opponent. I would love to go to a Michigan Wisconsin game at Lambeau. That place is special. Much like our very own Big House.
So glad it's Friday. I'll be celebrating the weekend after my last appointment at 3:00 with some Fat Tire. Golf tournament in the morning and spending Sunday with Mom.
That shot at the end where he punts a ball then kicks another into the first while it's coming down is amazing! I hope he does well with the Lions and continues to make trick shot videos on the side.
I don't mean this as an insult but I always thought that you were female. I guess the whole softball thing just threw me off. Goes to show that you should never assume. Anyway, that's very cool and I hope you had a fun and safe trip. Thanks for all the great softball updates.
He could run again at Michigan's pro day. A 4.43 is very solid and he seemed to track the ball well in a couple other drills. He could very well being a Day 2 pick
What happened 48 years ago in bowling? I couldn't find anything on the googles. Being an avid bowler you can't just leave a guy hanging like that. I NEED TO KNOW
I like the thought of playing them twice. Not sure why others wouldn't want to see the greatest rivalry in sports played twice if possible. Plus, if we lose to them in the regular season game we get a chance at redemption. I can't believe people wouldn't want to see those 2005 teams go at it again a week after Crable's late hit. The problem is Brian wants them in the same division so the lemmings on here tend to follow what ever he says. I love Brian and this blog but I don't agree with every thought he has
