On the bright side, I feel like there's at least a little relief knowing exactly what the issue is now. I don't know much about shin splints but they aren't always from stress factures right? Now they know it's a matter of healing and rehabbing, whereas before they weren't really sure what the issue was. And there should be more of a concrete timeline for his return too.

I know loyalty doesn't exist anymore, but it's kinda dissapointing that he jumped ship so quick, especially after saying in no uncertain terms that he was in it for the long haul at PSU.

|31 weeks 1 day ago||severe burns?||
Those burns don't look too bad to me, I work in a kitchen as a cook, mostly grill and fryer, so I'll admit I'm used to it, but right now I've got three burns on my hands that are worse than those, and I have to go back and work with those burned hands over hot stoves every night and just deal with the pain until they heal. The burns I have now are not the worst burns I've ever had, those ones faded away, and so will the ones I have now.
It just kinda bugs me that of course they're gonna make a big deal out of this, his lawyer is all over it lawyerspeaking the shit out of the situation, the restaurant has to stop serving it this way and they're probably gonna get sued, I don't think deserves compensation at all.
I guess the fact that I hate Valenti might effect my opinion, but whatever.
|36 weeks 23 hours ago||Borges||
Does anybody else feel like Borges is trying to get fired at this point. I have a hard time blaming the players when it seems like none of our guys has any idea of what they're doing on any play, and the defense clearly does know they're doing because they have it covered anyway. Hey, I know, let's line up under center and run every first down even though our oponent is putting 8 guys in the box and blitzing. These coaches are putting their players in positions to fail.

My brother and I have been yelling at the TV all season about Green going down on first contact everytime. A 230-40 pound back ought to be able to break a few tackles.

Anybody see that guy going nuts on the sideline after Michigan's first touchdown? Right around the 1:25 mark.
|46 weeks 4 days ago||This is exactly right||
We're gonna be good, I'm not saying it's an automatic loss for them, but it's gonna be a very tough game year in and year out. So they can't find the room on the schedule to play Michigan every year, but they can find the room to play Purdue and Navy every year.
|51 weeks 1 day ago||Wow, you guys are quick||
Everybody's right, my issue with the fundamentals comment is probably more of an anectodal, touchy-feely thing. I don't have any numbers, sometimes watching them I just wish they relied less on power hitters, and more on manufacturing runs. Having said that, I love prince and miggy as much as the next guy, and to be fair, Cabrera makes some great plays out there, I don't know what his advanced stats say.
When it comes to the bullpen, I hadn't seen the Veras trade when I posted that, so I'd agree, with Dotel on the mend, it seems to be shaping up.
|51 weeks 1 day ago||Bullpen help||
If this guy is as good a defender as some seem to think, I like this, we need defense. I know Peralta is not a terrible defender, but in general the Tigs D is not that good, I love the idea of having a great defensive shortstop. I think that's one of our biggest problems, not just defense but lack of fundamental play, good baserunning, hitting for average, etc. Some of the clips in that video were pretty exciting. I didn't look up the numbers, but all these naysayers pointing to the '.200' average ... .257 is not .200.
Still need bullpen help though.

Does the thread with more comments win? I think this should be the official 'Devin Gardner fluff piece on Granland' thread.
|1 year 1 day ago||Relief||
We need relief. As consistently inconsistent as this lineup is, I think there's too much talent and firepower to go looking for another bat. The 4 man rotation for the playoffs is a good point, so right now there's basically Benoit, Smyly, and Rondon, I think Downs(?) has good numbers, but he's on the DL. Other than that nobody has good stats, there's a lot of talent and potential, I like Villareal and Al Al, but these guys haven't shown the consistency.
I've heard minor talk about Dirks being traded, I think Garcia seems pretty much Major League ready, you could trade Dirks and one or two lower level infield or outfield prospects for solid reliever on a noncontender. I don't know who that reliever is but I think he's out there.
|1 year 1 day ago||wrong report||
It seems like most sports analysts don't really know what they're talking about. The fact is, they're selling a product more than anything, which is why they've always got to say something 'unexpected' or 'surprising'. In this situation I think it has less to with him not knowing a thing about Mike Martin, though he probably doesn't, and more that he's trying to keep the readers attention so he creates conflict where there is none, that's what ESPN does.
|1 year 2 days ago||same hit||
that looks like the same hit to me, if you read the article, Peirera is quoted something like, "leading with the crown", both hits are great form and fundamental, and if Peirera is right, are supposed to result in ejections.

Did anybody else actually change the channel when thay had pitbull do his 'performance'? I actually get why a lot of singers are popular, but this guy?
|1 year 1 week ago||i do||
I love watching a dominating defense that constantly blows up running plays, gets pressure on the quarterback and generates turnovers, that's exciting. Also, you can't expect to be a championship contender when your defense is consistently giving up 40+ points to Illinois and Indiana.
For that matter, I like a punishing running game over a high flying passing attack. I remember there was a bowl game a few years ago, don't remember which, but it was Wisconsin vs. Auburn, Wisconsin had a one score lead with like 7 minutes left, they got the ball inside their own five and proceeded to drive the ball to inside Auburn's five and then kneeled to run out the clock. If that kind of domination isn't badass than I don't know what is.
