I disagree with the part about the desktops going away...yes tablets and laptops are cool, but at the same time, after using a nice large monitor for years, I can't stand the tiny little displays of the tablets and laptops are only slightly better.
It may happen but I don't think it goes away soon, desktop is still soooo much more than just playing games, but the consoles <yawn> just don't do enough extra to make them worth the money.

I have balked at the prices of the consoles for many years now, the fact that for only a little more I can buy a PC...I really don't care for the consoles. This round/generation is Sony's to lose, MS has not done what they needed to, and Nintendo also did very little. I did buy a WiiU but it is for the kids, I play games on my PC or I don't play them. I am not really a fan of either sony or MS...I seen nothing that is compelling enough to spend the amount they want you to.

I actually went to that game, I was stationed in So. Cal and had some friends come out to visit so we went to two bowl games that year, the Rose and the Holiday down in San Diego, where Iowa beat Wyoming. Two good games where Big Ten teams won.
Iowa had to come from behind to win, with the final being 20 - 19. Good fun.

George Steinbrenner (OSU alum/fan) absolutely didn't want Henson to stay for his senior year. Her was a kid who was good at baseball, so he threw a big contract at the kid and lured him away from Michigan. He did it not for his baseball team, he did it for the OSU football team.

Don't remind me of the Dead Wings, I was growing up then. I went and saw a game with my Dad somewhere around 72' or 73', they lost to St. Louis, in the old Olympia. I have not had a chance to go see a game in the Joe and they are building a new stadium.

If you are active duty military, you can continue to be a "resident" of your home state. After spending 6 and a half years away from Michigan while in the Marines, I was still a Michigan resident, my car had Michigan liscense plate, etc... The University is in the wrong on this issue if it turns out they are trying to push the issue of residency. |
